    Welcome to Windy Oaks Farm ** SPECIAL OFFER!! ** Book at Windy Oaks for 4 or more consecutive nights and you'll be treated to 2 of our famous and scrumptious large smoke-fired pizzas - lovingly homemade from scratch and with local ingredients. These will be delivered to your camp on your night of choice. (Scroll down to EXTRAS for details) Nestled along the scenic Fish River, our 30-acre property offers 450 metres of river frontage, making it the perfect getaway for nature lovers, campers, fishing enthusiasts and gold fossickers. What We Offer: • Idyllic Riverfront Camping: Set up by the water, fish for trout, or relax surrounded by lush greenery. The Fish River is renowned for gold panning—try your luck and discover hidden treasures! • Wildlife Encounters: Spot kangaroos, wombats, platypus, and vibrant birdlife. • Farm Fresh Produce: Enjoy saffron, garlic, veggies, and free-range eggs from our happy chooks. • Nearby Dining: Just 1.8 km to the O’Connell Hotel and Get Roasted café, or enjoy a meal surrounded by breathtaking views at Mayfield Garden’s café. • Prime Location: 20 km from Bathurst and Oberon, with Mount Panorama and the renowned Mayfield Garden close by. (Please note our cancellation policy on the booking page.)Windy Oaks Farm is a small 30 acre property with about 700 metres frontage on the Fish River. We grow saffron and garlic and other veggies, have a small orchard and plenty of eggs daily from our lovely chooks. Trout and fly fishers love our stretch of the river, as do bird watchers, nature lovers of any kind and just about anyone who loves the bush and being close to water. Campfires on the river and BBQs are loads of fun when permitted. We have kangaroos in abundance, wombats and platypus. We are just 1.8 kms from the O'Connell Hotel if you're in the mood for a good old country pub feed. Bathurst and Oberon are both 20 Kms either side of O'Connell with the word famous Mayfield Garden just 15 minutes drive away. Or, just relax and soak up the peace and quiet of the Aussie bush right on the river. Guests must be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Pets are allowed on leash.  Campfires are welcome in fire pit.

    Well, for our inaugural Hipcamp experience, we were not disappointed. Communication with Angela was excellent. The directions to Windy Oaks were simple to follow and we were met by our host, who guided us down to the huge space by the river. There were many options/sites to choose from. The site was perfectly situated by the river. The exclusivity of this camp is what attracted us here - our four-legged friends agreed! The area was mowed and a fireplace/pit provided. Firewood was readily available and our host, Tony also offered to assist if required. We had decided to pre order two pizzas on our first night. What a great idea! Angela lovingly created two taste sensations using home-made dough (thin & crispy for us) and toppings using locally sourced ingredients. Both pizzas, 'Meat me at O'Connell' and 'Dalai Lama' were fabulous. We thoroughly recommend you try these! We were also treated to a dozen farm fresh eggs from the Windy Oaks 'girls' and homemade strawberry jam. We were not disappointed. Both Angela and Tony are passionate about their place and what it and the region has to offer. Thank you Angela and Tony! We will definitely return!

    Had such a wonderful time. Got to look at a beautiful view and such lovely hosts. We wanted somewhere safe and enjoyable for a night of traveling through and we got just that.

    Beautiful, private riverside camping on grass with dogs and fires allowed….what more could you want?? Angela and Tony were the perfect hosts showing us the best place to set up and delivering fresh eggs for our stay then leaving us to enjoy our weekend.

    We recently stayed at Windy Oaks and had a fantastic experience. The location is great and the river has a couple of great swimming spots. The camping spot is nice and flat with plenty of grass space to relax. Special thanks to Tony for showing us around the farm. He was super helpful and a great bloke. Will definitely return!

    Angela and Tony are amazing host, it was a nice personal touch to get to meet and chat with them both. We were even given some fresh fruit and vegetables. The camp-site itself was a mowed opened area facing the Fish River, with lovely surroundings of old trees and shrubs. The sites had a perfectly flat area for our camper. The River had rainbow trout, great for a fish or swim. We will definitely be back again, Thanks so much for having us!
