We are a small hobby farm nestled in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. Bring your sleeping bags and pillows and we will supply the rest. Our mountain spring will supply you with whatever water you need to shower and wash. Amenities include a toilet, shower, kitchen counter & sink, cooler, cooking utensils, plates/mugs, a grill, fire pit and an herb garden. With a little coaxing, our chickens may provide you with eggs for breakfast. There are plenty of opportunities to explore the outdoors with hiking, fishing, camping, and kayaking in the nearby rivers. Sorry, we cannot accommodate RVs. Fall is on it's way. We have winterized the site- there is a rug on the glamp platform and we will supply an electric heater in case the temperature dips! This is a perfect base camp to launch your Western North Carolina adventure. The area is a mecca for cyclists and hikers alike. Explore the many local trails including cycling the Hot Doggett Metric Century or hike to the summit of Bailey Mountain. We are an 8 acre hillside hobby farm situated on a lovely country road just 3 miles from Mars Hill and 30 minutes from downtown Asheville. The hosts live on the property along with a flock of free ranching chickens. Our site was designed with your privacy needs in mind. The campsite consists of a covered deck with optional privacy curtains. It has electricity, WiFi, a toilet, shower, grill, cooler and food prep area with a sink. Camping chairs and cots for your sleeping bags. After a long day of exploring, take a hot shower and relax while you grill your favorite meal. Or if you prefer, dine at one of Asheville’s renowned restaurants. Grab a great burger at the Stack House here in Mars Hill. You can also sit around the fire pit making s’mores and watching fireflies as they pass by. Star gazing is exceptionally great with no street lights to hinder your view of the Milky way.

This place is MAGIC
Larry and Antoinette are some of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, and they’ve created a gorgeous little spot right outside of Asheville She stocks it with farm fresh eggs and homemade cookies and bread too! I had an absolute blast here (best night of a 7 night full east coast road trip) They even make their own soap! If you’re in the area, stop by and spend some time here, you won’t regret it

Perfect in every way.
With kids
We had an incredible time here. Antoinette and Larry have paid attention to every detail and then some. We felt welcomed but also had our privacy. They were great with the kids-super friendly dogs, homemade bread and chocolate chip cookies (!!), and we got to collect fresh eggs. The night sky was mind blowing. Worth every penny.

Glamp it up!
Camping at Hidden Spring was such a treat! Even with the freezing temperatures (in the 20s), Antoinette and Larry offered such great care that it warmed my heart. The listed amenities themselves are enough but the extra care they put into this experience that goes above and beyond made this the ultimate glamping experience for me. The rustic camping chairs around the campfire ring are really cool. The hosts provided puh-lenty of firewood so I spent a lot of time sitting in those chairs around the fire. The flush toilet was such a welcome sight for me! Where can you find such luxury that was literally three steps away from the cot I slept on? It was clean and convenient. The hosts allow you privacy to enjoy yourself and encourage you to "make it fun". Antoinette was sure to let me know, though, that they were just down the hill if I needed anything when I let her know that it was my first time camping alone. I heated up one of Antoinette's homemade cookies on the grill side burner for breakfast, 'cause why not? You could taste the love in it. I ate it as I watched the sun come up over the hill. I did not need to bring one single thing to cook with. I cooked the farm fresh eggs provided along with toasting the delicious fresh bread Antoinette left. Yum! Meanwhile, their chickens serenaded me with their egg songs. This added to a great country atmosphere. I hope I am able to return one day during a slightly warmer month. Thank you for the care you put into HS!

Our stay at Hidden Spring was excellent. This is the definition of glamping - everything and the kitchen sink! So many thoughtful amenities are provided, right down to the salt and pepper we left at home. The location is private and remote, while still providing things like fast WiFi and a hot shower. The hosts are also incredibly nice people and we felt very welcome. This spot is worth booking just for Antoinette’s amazing cookies!

Although the site was on the owners property, still felt private. They have an area for cornhole, and chickens are nearby

Won’t be “hidden” for long.
So far the best HipCamp experience by miles. This is a new place that won’t stay “hidden” for long. Make your reservation now. I’ve no doubt Antoinette will be listed a Superhost. Amenities are amazing from not only what is listed: toilet, shower, kitchen prep area, fire pit, etc but also the touches that Antoinette goes out of her way to do such as: homemade cookies, bread, eggs, s’mores. Used it all except the s’mores. It was all delicious. Such graciousness. Star gazing was amazing. I can’t say one bad thing about this amazing host and location.
