Private, quiet, relaxing
Tent
I planned this trip a few days before I left. I wanted to find a spot in the woods, secluded and private, but not a long hike back to the car, with an outhouse and possibly a pond to fish in.
Luckily for me I found this listing. The property is beautiful and remote. The site is off of the road about a quarter mile, just far enough so you can’t see your car parked but easy walk to it.
The small pond set among the working sheep farm had lots of bass. Didn’t catch anything huge, but caught a lot. The firewood provided for a reasonable fee was well cured, old growth hardwood. I almost felt guilty burning it. The forest surrounding the site had a very clean floor, not a lot of brush or young trees, and I spent a lot of time throwing disc golf discs between the trees.
The owners were very communicative and friendly. Brian loaded all of my gear in and out of the site with short notice. Opted for the lights and power station, both worked great.
I think I have found my go to weekend getaway spot. I like to camp very simply and comfortably. Throw up my hammock, bring a comfortable camp chair, cook dehydrated meals on my backpacking stove, drink a few beers and just relax and turn off. This spot was perfect for that. I can’t wait to come back.
