The Highfields Pioneer Village covers an area of 20 acres of picturesque grounds with over 70 buildings of historic interest, pleasant surroundings and picnic facilities. It is located just 15kms north of Toowoomba. Our property is part of the Highfields Pioneer Village* complex located just 20 minutes from Toowoomba. This campsite is a wonderful place to rest whilst taking in the scenic surroundings of the village which is the home of the Big Cow.  Visit the Toowoomba Fire Brigade Museum which houses an historic collection of memorabilia, documenting the story of the people who have worked every day to keep us safe from fires since 1877. The collection includes Uniforms, Badges & patches, historical records & photographs and over 6 Historic Fire Engine Vehicles, Apparatus, Models & Collectibles. Visit the iconic Ambulance Museum that tells the story of Ambulance services in Queensland. We are within easy reach of Highland Falls which has some great walking tracks and view points of the falls. Pets are also permitted in this bushland area but must be on a leash. We are just 3 mins from local shops, McDonald's, KFC. This is the perfect spot for those who want to wind down and escape the hustle and bustle. We have amenities available and pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times. Sorry, no campfires. Bush Camping. *Tickets to the Village are optional and can be purchased onsite from the Kiosk. Recommended time to view the Pioneer Village is at least 2 hours.

The campsite at Highfields Pioneer Village offers a mixed vibe. Many campers appreciate the quiet, spacious environment and the friendly staff, along with clean amenities. However, a few reviews mention issues like the lawn needing mowing, unreliable potable water, and some areas used as a dumping ground by the attached museum. It's a place with historic charm and plenty of room to relax, but some maintenance aspects could use attention.

Clean amenities and the people/volunteers around the place are lovely. We were the only people there for the majority of our stay so there wasn’t much going on but it’s a peaceful place to set up camp for a couple of days.

It was a suitable location and clean amenities which are a bit dated.
