Our property is located in Deep Creek Chesapeake, VA on the intercoastal waterway/dismal swamp canal. We have 4+ acres of natural beauty at the end of a gravel road. Though we are not far from the city, nature definitely is the main character around here. The waterway is brackish (salt and fresh) so there is a wide array of wildlife to enjoy. Bald eagles and heron fly over daily and we often see otters, foxes and raccoons and birds galore. Guests have access to kayaks and dock (2 story) for fishing and/or relaxing. Water views from any spot on the property. We also have a friendly dog, Jack, that would love to meet you.Pop Up Camper with 2 beds and small table inside nestled in the woods overlooking the river. Camper does have electricity (limited to lights, chargers) Firepit and grill available as well as hammock swing near the camper. Property is 4 acres so there are trails to explore and you can use the 2 story dock for relaxing, fishing, sunbathing. There are also up to 3 kayaks you can use during your stay. We offer a camp toilet, it’s nothing fancy but does the job.

Sweet camper experience
With kids
Ashleigh and Scott are very considerate, compassionate, accommodating and informative. The camper and surrounding area is adorable. My 6 year old son loved every second of being here. Their dogs are so sweet and polite too!! It is very quiet at night with the occasional plane or train (which we love) sounds. Lots of wildlife especially at night.

Great family getaway spot!
With kids
This was our first Hipcamp trip and it was absolutely lovely. I'm an avid camper and overlander and when I bring my 6-year-old I like to stay at stuff that's a little less off the grid. The pop-up camper was very quaint and set up perfectly. It was nice to just arrive and not have to set everything up. It was very clean and the bedding was extremely comfortable. They have a nice outhouse setup, compost style toilet. There is electricity to the pop-up there they also have a nice fire pit stocked with wood for your use as well as a barbecue grill if you choose to use it. The site is behind the workshop on the property so it's pretty secluded and has a wonderful view of the river. They also allow you to use their kayaks and go out on their two tier dock. We brought our dog and he was able to run around the property and enjoy himself and there's a really nice little walking trail that goes through the woods behind the pop-up. We only stayed one night because we had other things going on that weekend but it was only 10 miles from the house so that made it even nicer! The host couple is very friendly and we got a tour of his leather working shop In the morning. I definitely recommend a little getaway here!
