4 nights at Tiny Secrets Farm & Retreat

What a beautiful spot! The cabin was cozy for my family of 4 and a dog but was a great “in between” camping and an Airbnb. So many thoughtful touches the kitchen really has everything you need. The facilities were clean and shower water hot! We hiked every day with the Smugglers Cove a big hit. Truly a magically little area of BC. We will be back!

We stayed in the renovated school bus for the weekend. The whole property is like a magical little get away and the bus was comfy and cozy during the rain :) The owners were friendly and the dogs and chickens kept us entertained. Come for a weekend to enjoy some of great hikes in the area or just take the time to rest in this little paradise- you won’t regret it!

Weekend Trip to Deep Creek Cabin And Tents

Super cute cabin with an outdoor shower, toilet, and fire pit. Cabin was spotless. Very quiet during the night, and lots of cedar trees and gulls nearby made for a coast like feel. Highly recommend.

Hosts were wonderful and receptive when we showed up a few hours past check in. The property is well kept and contains many exciting features including seating by the river, grill deck overlooking the river, and a beautiful hot tub. The inside was well stocked and cozy for the cool night. We enjoyed our overnight stay and hope to return soon!

We stayed in the A-frame micro-cabin for 5 days. We are already dreaming of our next visit! Despite getting the "atmospheric river" vacation treatment, it had virtually all the amenities you could ask for in for a rainy day of off-grid living. It was beautiful and felt quiet (minus all the chorus frogs at night :D) and luxurious. The hosts were responsive and friendly, we even got some doggo time as they let their dogs roam near the chicken coop. Couldn't ask for a better "glamp" experience!

I loved our stay on this magical school bus! Karen and Tito had the bus cleaned and ready before we’ve arrived. They provided us with clear instructions and a guide for our stay. Although I did not get a chance to meet them, they were extremely communicative through text to ensure we arrived safely. This is one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. I also had the best sleep of my life! I would recommend this to everyone that is looking for a glamping experience.

If you’re looking for the perfect rustic getaway, I highly recommend staying at Deep Creek Cabin on Darcy’s property. It’s got everything you need for an off-grid retreat—except it’s not totally off-grid since it has electricity! The amazing wood stove keeps the place cozy, there’s an outdoor hot shower that’s surprisingly refreshing, and the outhouse adds to the authentic cabin vibe. It’s tucked away in nature, making it the ideal spot to unplug (or not, since there’s power) and just relax. If you love cozy, simple living with modern convenience, this place is definitely worth checking out. Comes highly recommended and will be back. Thanks again to Darcy and his family

The bus is adorable and cozy! There were some issues, apparently caused by some recent inclement weather, but the hosts are incredibly sweet and were very responsive to fix things as they came up. The "magic sack" was an especially nice touch to help unwind, and that bed is insanely comfortable! Many thanks to Karen, Kito, and Amos.

This is an all-season property: swimming, boating, hiking and quadding in the SUMMER, hunting in the FALL, and ice fishing, snowmobiling (100s of km of trail right from your door) in the WINTER. All year long fish for natural rainbow trout and Kokanee salmon. This is a rustic 100% off-grid experience! There is no electricity in the cabins and cold running water in the summer. SLEEPING: The cabin has two bedrooms separated by curtains from the living space and features: One queen Two single bunks One double futon HEATING/COOKING:There is a wood stove for heat and cooking and wood is supplied and cold running water in the summer months. A wood burning BBQ is available for use and a huge upright smoker for your fish haul (bring your own propane cylinder). BATHROOMS: There are no bathrooms in the cabin. Flush toilets and hot showers are available in the wash house steps away in the summer and in the lodge in the other months. ELECTRICITY: The cabins have no electricity. Please bring your own lanterns and flashlights. WATER FUN: The cabin is RIGHT ON THE WATER and in the summer we have dock for jumping off of or launching a boat. We have kayaks, floaties and paddle boards available on a first come first served basis. Boat rental with 6.5 HP motor also available for $99 a day. Ice fishing is excellent in the winter. WE PROVIDE: dishes, cups, mugs, cutlery, cooking pots and some utensils. Firewood and water (from the lake) for washing is provided. There is no fridge so you will need to bring a cooler with ice for your perishables. Town is an hour away. ACCESS: We are located 50 km down a logging road and we advise access only by 4-wheel drive vehicles although many cars have made it in the summer. In the winter, access is an ice road. New Glamping Dome Tents with Queen Sized Beds, table and chairs and hammocks including a covered counter for cooking . There is no cell service or electromagnetic disruption here which makes for a beautiful peaceful mountain retreat. If one of the Dome tents is booked, I block off the other so you'll be the only ones on the whole gravel pad area. There are trees and visual space blocking anyones' view between sites Birkenhead Lake Provincial Park is walkable from our farm and there you can hike, fish, swim, paddle, and more! The road is a gravel road in winter would require 4x4. Otherwise we've seen many EVO cars (Prius Hybrid or fully electric Kia Niro) and even fancy Teslas and BMW sedan's on this road.

This valley has many outdoor activities and events and a very interesting history and culture including Sinixt, Doukhobor, Cannabis and Conscientious Objector. Nelson, Castlegar and Slocan Lake are all a half hour drive away. There are many other special places nearby such as the Goddess Pools and the Emerald Pools. Supplies and services are available nearby including firewood, toiletries, dog day care, massage, bike and canoe rentals, life jackets, rubber dingys and paddles etc. Let us know if you would like a referral to any of these services. There are many guides available for activities in the area including (water sports, climbing, skiing, hiking, artist tours, events, geology, mining, mushrooms, cannabis, garden tours and native history). There is a particularly valued native storyteller here that can also provide a walking tour to a nearby village site with a full scale replica of an aboriginal kekuli (earth house). Please call ahead for recommendations on booking guides or storytellers. You don't need one to get here, but its good to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for some of the logging roads that are worth visiting. Roof and/or bike racks can also come in handy. The Vallican Whole community center also has events nearby.

Part of the road is a dirt road and a bit bumpy, best for cars that don't mind roughing it a little bit. You also lose service 5 minutes outside of Lillooet. The property is surrounded by private lots. You can explore ours down to the river or you can drive to other locations like the Horsehoe (a great swim spot) hikes, Carpenter Lake (great for swimming, too), Lac La Mere (good for fishing) and much more. We are located on the west side of the Arrow Lakes and are accessed by a free shuttle ferry service. If you are looking to escape the crowded tourist areas then this is your place. A short stroll from our property is the beautiful Arrow lake. We are surrounded by hiking, biking and ATV trails waiting to be explored. A few miles down the road is Saddle mountain hiking trail, a challenging hike with breathtaking views all the way up. At the top of Saddle Mountain is a look out building with 360 panoramic views that is free to use and has been recently updated. A short walk or bike ride from the camp site, through old growth cedar groves and orchard will lead you to Arrow Lake where you can enjoy all types of water activities or take a walk to explore many of the areas private beaches. We have kayaks and a SUP board for our guest to enjoy and explore our many secluded, sandy beach spots. Please come and enjoy our beautiful wilderness. It's a whole other world over here.....
