Come and enjoy a traditional/rustic camping experience on the mighty Ottawa river. Be sure to bring your water shoes and a canoe or kayak, or you may rent one of ours. C-O-G is located on the Quebec side of the Ottawa River, east of the bridge that passes over from Hawkesbury, Ontario. This beautiful (mostly) deciduous forest (situated on both sides of the 344/Rte Des Outaouais), has been in the family for generations. The 59 acre property (50 acres on land, ~9 acres of river/water) features scenic views, privacy and is host to many outdoor activities such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking and more, with many other outdoor tourism attractions (white water rafting (Rouge River ~15kms away), Parc Omega (zoo)) located nearby. By paddle boat, canoe, or other similar shallow depth water craft, one can head upriver, around an island, and loop back through the remaining historic canal. ...It's a historic lazy river! Many amenities are only 1-3km away, such as a gas station (with fast charging and an M&M Meats section), an IGA grocery store and several restaurants including, McDonalds, Tim Hortons. You will also find some of the best poutine around, for a traditional poutine, try Jos Patate (they've been there for many decades now) and for a wild variety of poutine, head to La Fromagerie ...want ice cream, La Crémière is in the same building. A little History... Our property has played host to a portion of the rich history of this area which included three railway tracks, a canal and a lock. The railway beds remain and the lock has simply been flooded over. Following the war of 1812, three Ottawa river canal systems were constructed between 1819 and 1833 to bypass the Long Sault Rapids on the Ottawa river. These canals were in use until 1961 when a large portion of the canal system was submerged due to the construction of a hydro-electric dam (~22kms downriver) at Carillion. As a result, the river level at our property rose high enough to submerge the top of the lock walls by ~3.5 feet. This submerged lock is located a few hundred feet offshore and can be seen using Google Earth as it measures 50' x 300' in size. Once you have a good idea where it is, throw on your water shoes and a life jacket and enjoy an interesting experience of walking on the walls of a submerged lock.

The terrain is pink granite with soft spots for a tent or solid ground to park your trailer (sorry no hook ups or liquid waste removal). There's a picnic table, firewood and private toilet included. Whether you prefer to be in sun or shade, both are available at this site. As much as we are sheltered from the County road, traffic can be heard at times. There is so much to enjoy at our location... Jump on your favourite floatie and float your troubles away down the lazy river located just a short walk across the road at Kawartha Highlands Signature Park. If kayaking and canoeing are more your thing, you will be in awe of the beautiful scenery as you paddle along. This breathtaking park also offers self-guided tours of its history and landscape. Three Pines Retreat is surrounded by lakes and trails and is only 3 km from the picturesque town of Buckhorn. Forget something or feel like dining out? Buckhorn hosts an LCBO, grocery stores and restaurants overlooking the locks. Pizza Alloro will lure you in for a delectable slice and Main St. Bar and Grill offers delicious fare and live entertainment. If you know anything about Kawartha Dairy ice cream you will be sure to stop at Buckhorn Ice Cream Parlour for a tasty treat. The rest of the property is of mixed bush forest and small meadow to the South end that can accommodate a RV.The property offers a pristine natural environment abundant with wild life, bird watching and plenty of excellent swimming and fishing spots.There is only one easily assessable RV spot available on the land for booking, this is a small clearing by the entrance area that can abominate up to a few RVs from one group exclusively, or be booked for a single RV to use exclusively.Accessing the remainder of the land is by way of a bush road that will require walking in approximately 1 km or by way of a 4 by 4 vehicle or ATV to access the waters edge. The K and P mixed use trail runs adjacent to the property and allows travel to Calabogie to the North or Sharbot lake and further South to Kingston by way of ATV right from the edge of the property.Sharbot lake is a short 15-minute drive from the property and offers all the amenity of a small town including a magnificent public beach that is ideal for small children.

We let campers stay in our parking lot where they can enjoy a beautiful sunset and many hiking trail just minutes away from us. Campers can walk down to the river and maybe see a beaver hard at work. Campers will not be allowed to walk to the farm as insurance won't let us. There are many activities that can be done around here in nature and we will provide a map and explanation of where the activity is and provide website links as well of the many hiking trail around us. There is a lake about 12 min drive from us with a nice beach. We will provide a pick nick table and can set up a badminton net as well for those that like to have a badminton game. A short walk from us a small Catholic country church, and you can walk to the Slate River Bridge on Hwy 608 and on Hwy 61.

Along the River Among the Pines is a family owned and orientated campground and is home to live music festivals since 1984. Many of the seasonal campers here enjoy singing and playing music. (jamming is encouraged) Nature and fun to be had in one! Hike, cycle or ride along the old decommissioned train tracks and old logging roads. Walking trails in the back of the property to catch a glimpse of wildlife. There is many types of fish in the rivers and no shortage of nearby lakes. Bring your river rafts, tubes, canoes or kayaks. We can drop your equipment at a few different places and let the current bring you back to camp

7 acres of field, forest, pond, waterfall, rapids, swimming hole! There are no bad views! Sit by the pond, sit by the creek, sit in the waterfall, sit out at Blueberry Hill for a pleasant breeze or up on SunStar Ridge for some nightly star gazing or lay back in a hammock or on zero gravity chair 1 Bunkie on a hill overlooking the pond and 2 private tent sites, one at Boot Hill and one in the Field of Dreams. Each site has a fire pit and a compostable toilet and there is an outhouse on the property for the bunkie. Great for canoes, kayaks, bird and wildlife watching with spectacular star gazing. This property was part of an old homestead and as such I am still finding things so please respect the caution tape and stay on the marked trails. Some are treasures (European Grapes, Bergamot, French Roses, Asparagus, Rhubarb, Ramps, Fiddle-heads) and others not so much. I am re purposing what I can and collecting the rest for disposal as I nurture this land back to what it was meant to be, paradise. There is an outdoor shower available as well. If you are green minded you are welcome here!

We have just under 4 acres of land, Where we offer tent camping in our forested property, in the village of L'amable. We are just south of the town of Bancroft (The Mineral capital of Canada). Surrounded by deer, moose, bear, fox, raccoon, rabbit, to name a few, you are sure to see wildlife. When booking with us you will have the ability to choose 1 of 6 campsites, where you will camp in mature forest, immersed in the beautiful vibrations and energy of the minerals that cover the land. If you have children, they are welcome to play with all of our boys, on their trampoline and play equipment, and enjoy the animals that live on our property as well. There are countless amazing local stores, and many natural attractions to visit nearby to rock hound, hike, swim, boat, and fish. There is also, an extensive trail systems to enjoy on your bikes, quads, and sleds close by. We are very child and pet friendly as well! Being newer to hipcamp, our campsites are always evolving and improving.
