Camp, Ottawa river, Grenville C-O-G

11 sites · RVs, Tents59 acres · Brownsburg Chatham, QC
Come and enjoy a traditional/rustic camping experience on the mighty Ottawa river. Be sure to bring your water shoes and a canoe or kayak, or you may rent one of ours. C-O-G is located on the Quebec side of the Ottawa River, east of the bridge that passes over from Hawkesbury, Ontario. This beautiful (mostly) deciduous forest (situated on both sides of the 344/Rte Des Outaouais), has been in the family for generations. The 59 acre property (50 acres on land, ~9 acres of river/water) features scenic views, privacy and is host to many outdoor activities such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking and more, with many other outdoor tourism attractions (white water rafting (Rouge River ~15kms away), Parc Omega (zoo)) located nearby. By paddle boat, canoe, or other similar shallow depth water craft, one can head upriver, around an island, and loop back through the remaining historic canal. ...It's a historic lazy river! Many amenities are only 1-3km away, such as a gas station (with fast charging and an M&M Meats section), an IGA grocery store and several restaurants including, McDonalds, Tim Hortons. You will also find some of the best poutine around, for a traditional poutine, try Jos Patate (they've been there for many decades now) and for a wild variety of poutine, head to La Fromagerie ...want ice cream, La Crémière is in the same building. A little History... Our property has played host to a portion of the rich history of this area which included three railway tracks, a canal and a lock. The railway beds remain and the lock has simply been flooded over. Following the war of 1812, three Ottawa river canal systems were constructed between 1819 and 1833 to bypass the Long Sault Rapids on the Ottawa river. These canals were in use until 1961 when a large portion of the canal system was submerged due to the construction of a hydro-electric dam (~22kms downriver) at Carillion. As a result, the river level at our property rose high enough to submerge the top of the lock walls by ~3.5 feet. This submerged lock is located a few hundred feet offshore and can be seen using Google Earth as it measures 50' x 300' in size. Once you have a good idea where it is, throw on your water shoes and a life jacket and enjoy an interesting experience of walking on the walls of a submerged lock.

Urban Regenerative Gardens

2 sites · RVs, Tents2 acres · Sherbrooke, QC
This rare urban site acknowledges our Abenaki heritage, who camped and lived along these shores for centuries. Our beautiful urban location near highway 410 and Bishop's University, directly on St. Francis river, makes it an exceptional starting point for cyclists who want to enjoy the Route Verte path; fish, canoe, kayak or tube the river or simply explore all Sherbrooke has to offer.  Our birdlife is amazing and is a recognized birding location by provincial authorities, especially for swallows and chimney swifts. A fire pit will be made available, in respect of all fire bans, with firewood available for purchase. In 1910, Agriculture Canada set up a research centre that operated until the 1950's. The property was sold to a family that emigrated to Canada from Europe, to set begin a new life post WW2. In 2015, I purchased the property to return it to its roots - regenerative farming, training, hospitality, poverty relief and healthy living. Be our guest at The Farmhouse, a vibrant small-scale farm with a heart for the earth and its people. (https://www.thefarmhouse.store) Seasonal, fresh farm produce will be available for purchase as well as guided garden tours.   Located within 5 minute walking distance to Lennoxville (Bishop's University).  It's perfect for campers who like to experience "urban" camping. Some road noise. If you are concerned about the weather, the site provides the use of a 8 sleeper tent trailer for your convenience. During the day, you are welcome to relax in it too. Portable water will be provided, but bring your own drinks if possible. As a bonus treat, you are welcome to sleep in a very HIP camper, a 1980 retro dodge camper van. Bilingual service. Prestation bilingue.

Domaine de la Templerie

8 sites · RVs, Tents153 acres · Godmanchester, QC
Welcome to our farm! Located on 153 acres of land, the Domaine de la Templerie is first and foremost a Table champêtre. To have a rustic table, a good majority of the products served in the restaurant must come from the farm. This is why you will find on site a farm with wild boars, geese, ducks, guinea fowl, pheasants, capons, turkeys and many other animals! We transform our product at the farm and sell them at the farm too. We also have a soccer field, volleyball court and horseshoe pit. Tranquility on the Bay-Adults only

3 sites · RVs, Tents1 acre · Quyon, QC
Welcome and thanks for visiting my listing:) Please note that this location is for 2 quiet adults only. No toilet facilities at property so bring your own camping toilet or self-contained RV. There's something that will make you breathe a little deeper being here. I looked at many properties before deciding on this one because "it just felt right". This flat terrain is rich in history. Pontiac Bay was fundamental in the logging era and held the local Trading post. The bay is nestled between Luskville and Norway Bay. As you drive here you will begin to feel a sense of calm within you as you glance out your right window to see the Gatineau Hills and to your left, you will see that you're winding your way along the Ottawa River. Or, if you decide to use the ferry crossing from Fitzroy Harbour on the Ontario side we're only 8 minutes from there. I have an old, but river-worthy canoe you may borrow but feel free to bring your own canoe, kayak, paddleboat or SUP to explore the land and inlets around the bay. You have access to my boat launch adjacent to the site so feel free to bring your boat. P.S. You might want to stop in the village for the best french fries in all of the Outaouais region. You'll see the big red chip truck across from Marcotte's, the gas station as you leave the ferry terminal, if you're coming from Fitzroy Harbour. And yes, they make pulled pork poutine, pogos, burgers and zucchini sticks. If you're here on the weekend you may also want to check out the Bristol Farmer's market every Saturday from Noon to 3pm on the public beach in Norway Bay, only 20 minutes away. It's a lovely quaint community mixed with old and new unique cottages so you'll definitely want to take a drive around. And you'll surely want to visit the Vineyard and Vintage Car Museum, a 2-minute drive from here if you enjoy wine and cars (but not at the same time lol...unless the keys AREN'T in the ignition ha!). Google Domaine de Pontiac Village for hours and more information or message me. Visit Parc des Chutes in Fort Coulonge for a view of the waterfalls, zip lining over the gorge and obstacle courses. (The view of the gorge is breathtaking!) Want to try whitewater rafting for an exhilarating rush? Try Esprit or Horizon X, both about 40 minutes north. How about Go Karting? visit lecircuitquyon dot com .

RV camping in Quebec guide

Overview

Brush up on your French, replace your campfire s'mores with breakfast croissants, and get set for an epic RV camping trip to the francophone province. Quebec might be best known for its cities, but RV campers will want to leave Quebec City and Montreal in the dust, as there's plenty to explore in the great outdoors. Go rafting, kayaking, and cross-country skiing in the Laurentian Mountains, hiking and whale-watching in Forillon National Park along the Gaspé peninsula, or cruise around the rock formations of the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve along the Côte-Nord. Outdoor adventures can be enjoyed through all four seasons, but you'll be glad for your RV, as Quebec's winter weather can be extreme. The good news is you'll never be far from an RV campground or Hipcamp, and many national parks and provincial parks also have serviced RV campsites, typically with hookups and a dump station.
