4WD/ATV or walk-in access only with a rough 2km of road to access campsites. Campsites are located along remote undeveloped lake with clear mostly spring-fed water. Sites are located further down on the lake where you will be able to drive to with the appropriate vehicle (listed above). To access swimming water, you will need to boat out into the lake a bit as the sites are located in a low-water area. Great for snorkeling and swimming, but to get out further into the lake where the best areas are for both these activities you will need a watercraft (paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, or small boats). On the lake itself is an island commonly used for nesting birds, and the water is both clean and clear. There is also endless ATV trails adjacent to the property, so there is more to enjoy than just the lake itself.

We are home to a deer refuge founded in partnership with the Humane Society Canada which cares for a herd of sika deer rescued from a zoo closure. We also raise a small number of chicken, sheep, and goats. In addition to our bunkie accommodations, we can also offer self serve sites in the forested and remote fields around the property. The bunkie is equiped with a composting toilet, kitchen area with kettle, mini fridge, and water, a very comfortable pull out double bed, air conditioning, and wifi. it also has a comfortable office space for those who want to work on the go.

Learn more about this land: Rustic bunkie located on 2 acres, is nestled among the trees beside a small, crystal clear lake. With 700 ft of untouched shoreline, privacy is second to none. From this lake, you can access 3 other lakes by provided canoe/kayak without portage. The site is 35 min. from Algonquin Park and 11 km from MKC, the world-famous white water paddling centre. 10x10 main floor with sleeping loft. Solar power provides lighting & a propane furnace for cool nights. Solar lights outside provide ambient lighting-may be turned off if preferred. The call of the loons & the barred owl will be your lullaby as you drift off to sleep after a day of hiking, paddling, or swimming.  There is no running water, you will have to bring your own drinking water. You will need to bring everything you require for cooking, eating and washing dishes. There is no sink, stove, or BBQ on site. As the site is off-grid, there are no appliances. There is a split log bench beside the self-contained fire pit.  Please bring your own firewood, matches/lighter,  and/or firestarter materials. Small fires only please, as this is a well-treed location. Fires must be extinguished prior to going to bed — there is a bucket by the firepit. If you are wondering if something is there, I suggest you reach out to check with me before arrival. There is a new private outhouse on site. The outhouse is past the bunkie along the path. Solar lights work with the flick of a switch — one switch by the door, one by the bed. You have access to 2 kayaks and 1 canoe, 2 adult lifejackets. These are located on the waterfront between the bunkie and the house @260 Matcheski Road. Please return these as you found them after each use. They are shared with the guests at the house. It is a natural shoreline at the bunkie, with a sandy bottom — pretty good swimming, actually! Absolutely no harsh chemicals/detergents in the water! Please leave the site tidy and as you found it. Take your garbage and recycling. This is a small lakeside community —  no loud music, please. Respect the solitude!  Please respect the natural setting — leave it as you found it, do not cut live growth.

Tranquility on the Bay-Adults only

Welcome and thanks for visiting my listing:) Please note that this location is for 2 quiet adults only. No toilet facilities at property so bring your own camping toilet or self-contained RV. There's something that will make you breathe a little deeper being here. I looked at many properties before deciding on this one because "it just felt right". This flat terrain is rich in history. Pontiac Bay was fundamental in the logging era and held the local Trading post. The bay is nestled between Luskville and Norway Bay. As you drive here you will begin to feel a sense of calm within you as you glance out your right window to see the Gatineau Hills and to your left, you will see that you're winding your way along the Ottawa River. Or, if you decide to use the ferry crossing from Fitzroy Harbour on the Ontario side we're only 8 minutes from there. I have an old, but river-worthy canoe you may borrow but feel free to bring your own canoe, kayak, paddleboat or SUP to explore the land and inlets around the bay. You have access to my boat launch adjacent to the site so feel free to bring your boat. P.S. You might want to stop in the village for the best french fries in all of the Outaouais region. You'll see the big red chip truck across from Marcotte's, the gas station as you leave the ferry terminal, if you're coming from Fitzroy Harbour. And yes, they make pulled pork poutine, pogos, burgers and zucchini sticks. If you're here on the weekend you may also want to check out the Bristol Farmer's market every Saturday from Noon to 3pm on the public beach in Norway Bay, only 20 minutes away. It's a lovely quaint community mixed with old and new unique cottages so you'll definitely want to take a drive around. And you'll surely want to visit the Vineyard and Vintage Car Museum, a 2-minute drive from here if you enjoy wine and cars (but not at the same time lol...unless the keys AREN'T in the ignition ha!). Google Domaine de Pontiac Village for hours and more information or message me. Visit Parc des Chutes in Fort Coulonge for a view of the waterfalls, zip lining over the gorge and obstacle courses. (The view of the gorge is breathtaking!) Want to try whitewater rafting for an exhilarating rush? Try Esprit or Horizon X, both about 40 minutes north. The sites are in the forest with either a view of the pond, of Cartwrights Creek or of the Ottawa valley from a hillside. We unfortunately cannot accept garbage at the brewery. The municipality limits us to one bag and we have animals that would love to rip through your garbage bag before I can get to it. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE GARBAGE HERE! FOOD... don't leave food out for animals to get overnight... If you don't have a car you can put your food in the silo by the brewery... animals can't get in there!
