We are 45 acres with many different pastures that house cows, sheep, goats, alpacas, and pigs.  The chickens, turkeys, and emus are free range so are found in all the areas  We are home to many special needs animals: cows, goats, sheep, dogs and catsWe are a working animal sanctuary, home to 138 animals of many different species. Don't be surprised to be woken up by roosters, turkeys or cows mooing.  Children and pets must be supervised at all times when interacting with the animals. Welcome to spend time with most of the animals with adult supervision

Fun Family Camping
Tent · With kids
Helen was a wonderful host. We had our 3 year old with us and she took us around to meet all of the animals on the farm. The stars were so bright at night and the only noises we heard were a few trains and the birds on the farm. We would definitely camp there again.

Total Eclipse of the ❤️
Tent · With kids
I never write reviews, but Sunset Farms Animal Sanctuary just deserves one! We can’t get over how incredible this camping experience was. Firstly, Helen the host was kind and welcoming. She took time to educate and enlighten, and answer all of our hundred questions!😊 She took time with my kids and taught them about the animals and farm. We want to expose our children to many views, and walks of life, and let them figure out who they are & what they believe, so we teach them to ask lots of questions. It can be a bit much for some. She was busy, but let them tag right along, helping a little, and tolerated all their questions, and ours, and shared respectfully with them. We appreciate that SO much. Now don’t even get me started on all the wonderful animals. We fell in love with all of them, most especially Nigel the turkey, and it even had us tearing up as we were leaving, and he stood at the gate seeing us off. I just can’t say enough about just the whole experience. It was all fantastic. We were there for the eclipse and were booked 2 nights. We had to leave after only 1 because storms were moving in and we didn’t want to pack up in the rain. Otherwise there’s no way we’d have left early. We were completely taken in by these precious animals and kind host. We would’ve stayed forever if we could!😊

We so enjoyed our two nights camping at Helen and Brian’s farm. Such a beautiful property and easy to find off the main road! Really enjoyed meeting all of the animals who live here, and hearing their stories. Learned a lot, and left with so much inspiration and gratitude. Highly recommend!

Excellent Host, Wonderful Goats
Tent
Helen is friendly, personable, and an outstanding person. She made us feel at home. She knows all the animals at the sanctuary by name (25+) and they are very well taken care of. We did not camp, we arranged for a tour through this website (Hipcamp) instead. That said, there's plenty of great camping sites on the property. We would have loved to stay, but we all had jobs/school to get back to. Helen let us bottle-feed baby goats, that was a wonderful experience we'll never forget. I can't recommend Sunset Farms Sanctuary enough to anyone looking to visit an animal sanctuary or discover what an animal sanctuary is like.

If you love animals, it's heaven.

Helen and Brian were fantastic. The experience was great from the very beginning - communication for the directions and answering my ton of questions. Helen made everything easy and no fuss. She was so patient with us, showing all the babies, giving their backgrounds and sharing her animal knowledge in general. I've never seen cows so big!!! We even got to see her operation in action - a rescue pig was delivered shortly after we arrived. I would definitely go back and recommend to anyone.
