H.E.R. stands for Honor, Educate, and Restore.  As avid campers who have enjoyed the beauty of nature by camping all across America, we are happy to share the joys of camping with others. We do this in the solid spirit of Honoring our Ancestors, Educating our children, and Restoring the spirit of family. We share these values with every visitor to H.E.R. Living Campus.  We hope to share these values with you.Unplug and reconnect in our completely off-grid, luxury cabin, and secluded campsite. We're proud to offer a very clean and quaint cabin, featuring a peaceful front porch, and campfire ring, with log seating. Water from our rain barrel is provided for showers. There is also enough campsite space for one large or two small tents. Tubman Cabin is tucked off a simple trail surrounded by greenery. A solar shower house and compost toilet are onsite. However, clean potalets and handwashing stations are also available on the grounds. Cabin supplies include firewood for cooking (and a lovely campfire), a full-size trash bag, a roll of tissue, paper towels, dry mix for the compost toilet, and hand sanitizer. Inside is one (1) Queen size bed, and two sets of bunkbeds completely dressed with clean, fresh linen that is ati-allergen, plush layers of beautiful bedding, anti-allergen bed pillows, a full-size sofa, loveseat, oversized armchair, and wireless table lamps. A premium queen size air-mattress is neatly tucked away inside the cabin to offer additional sleeping accommodations. This cabin is completely off-grid. Birds greet you every morning, and nature is all around. Our large indoor-safe propane heaters can (optionally) keep the place nice and cozy in the winter months.  We sanitize all bedding and hard surfaces after each group of guests. Tubman Cabin is tidied and inspected before your arrival.

Cute homestead campsite
Tent · Group trip
We have camped here 3 years in a row and it is great. Letava has a whole homestead set up, adding things each year. She is really kind and goes out of her way to help us out if we have any issues.

Attractive camping near downtown!
Tent
Highly recommend tent camping here. Letava is a wonderful host, gracious, responsive and accommodating. I was actually attending a 3-day event at the downtown conference center. Loved returning from daily sessions & workshops to the peace and beauty of Letava’s back acres. She has created a lovely camping oasis. During my stay, I was the only occupant but the area is designed for multiple campers. It was fun to spread out with tarp-covered 2-person tent, my camp kitchen, and hammock to chill in while reading. I appreciated the handwashing station adjoining the port-o-johns, all well supplied and close to the camping area. Do be mindful that your car won’t pull up right next to the camping glade. There’s a short path to reach it. Took multiple trips to cart my potable water and the rest of my camping equipment. All well worth it, though—made for a prettier and more relaxing camping area. I would stay here again.
