Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Welcome to Whispering Mountain. We are a small hobby farm with a menagerie of animals to pat and see. Our main attraction is our Scottish Highland Cattle and our emus, but of course, there’s a lot more than these guys. We have a large paddock adjacent to Lansdowne River, where we welcome self-contained campers to set up and enjoy the peace, and easy river access. The paddock does not have any trees or toilet amenities at this stage. So it's currently BYO toilets/showers please, and all waste it to be taken when you depart. We are 20 minutes out of Taree and 50 minutes to Port Macquarie. There are local beaches at Manning Point and Crowdy Head. Great for fishing. If you’re looking for extra fun we offer Archery lessons and are affiliated with Archery NSW. We also offer a petting zoo for a small additional cost. Ask us for more details! You can pitch your tent or sent up your caravan on our farming land, just near to the creek. It's a pretty spot, where the land is fairly level, and you can enjoy plent of space. As you can see in the photos you can cool off in the No so deep running river. You can sign up for a 1 hour Scottish Highland close encounter (brush and hand feed the bull “Rory”). There’s also Archery on offer for all. We are affiliated with Archery N.S.W. One on one coaching, equipment hire and purchases and mentoring on offer Your welcome to bring your pet, please insure your pet doesn’t rrsheep and goats with You can have a campfire in the designated firepit, or have a swim and cool off in our pebble creek. Firewood is available to purchase. You must be self-contained, (own toilet/shower) as we don't provide facilities at this time. Once is not enough ❤️

Absolutely loved our stay! We had the place to ourselves, sunrise over the mountains, highland coos at our doorstep and an emu that thinks it’s a dog who followed us everywhere! We even got a personal tour to the creek from our lovely host Rita. We will definitely be back!

Relaxing farm stay or adventure’s
4 m travel trailer · With kids
Rita’s farm is perfect for an off grid camp to do absolutely nothing or absolutely everything. Being close to waterfalls, mountain walks and the beach you can choose to do day trips or stay at the farm and interact with the many different animals. We enjoyed the highland cow experience and learnt a lot about their lives. We also had fun doing archery and Rita was a very excellent teacher and helped us even get some bullseyes!
