It's on a farm run by David and his family, who welcome guests to enjoy the beautiful countryside views. You can see the Tyne Valley from the camping pitches, which is great for stargazing at night. The site is basic with just water taps and toilets, no showers, but there's lots of space for kids and dogs to play. You're allowed to bring a barbecue or firepit for cooking, and you can buy supplies in Prudhoe nearby. Or, you can walk to Hedley on the Hill for a meal at a top-notch pub. There are plenty of things to do nearby, like walking in the woods, playing golf, or trying gliding. Enjoy a simple, no frills stay within a few minutes stroll of our historic pub, with its 16th century bar serving local beers and wonderful food. Our cafe is a great stop-off for coffee and cakes, and our outdoor wood-fired oven serves unforgettable pizza. The Farmer's Field is ideally located as a base from which to explore both the South Lakes and West Cumbria, or perhaps as a stop en route further north.

Chorley town centre is 10 minutes drive away and we are close to the M61 which can take you to the Lake district in less than an hour, Manchester or Blackpool are roughly 30 Minutes away.

Despite year-round camping availability, Grasmere’s climate involves frequent rainfall and varying temperatures. October to January sees the most rain with temperatures dropping below 5°C. July and August are warmest, averaging highs around 19°C. It should be noted that summer is busy, so expect larger crowds and be sure to make reservations. April, May, and June are the driest and sunniest months, making spring the idyllic time to camp near Grasmere for comfortable weather and colourful blooms.
