Great for wild camping! We were very lucky to have the woodland area to ourselves as it was really hot.

Fab stay! Back to basics
Tent · With kids
We loved our stay here! There were no other campers so had the place to ourselves (3 mums with children from 2 to 10 years old). We decided to camp in the woodland area because it was very hot (32 degrees on the second day!), I think we had gone home had we not had this sheltered woodland, it was perfect there and our 3 tents (4 people tents + a 2 person tent) fitted just right with space for our tables, picnic mat and kitchen area in the middle. The field looked great and it was closer to the stream, where the water soure was, so it would be fab for a not so hot stay. The woodland had a little path that led to a swing in a tree and the sheltered area where the water hose and shower cubicle were had another swing. The shower was just a bucket that you can heat up with fire as mentioned but it isn't high or anything, you'll have to scoop water from it to wash yourself. Since it was hot we just used cold water. We made fire every night in the field and it was great to see the trees gave some shade over the fire pit from around 5pm! There was a big woodland to explore too but since it was too hot we didn't dare to leave our sheltered area! The kids roamed around between the woodland, the stream and the toilet, which was in a caravan garden (nobody was there), opposite Tim's house. He also had some pigs and piglets. The piglets roamed around the field and we saw them a few times (so cute!). It was great to be able to give them all our food waste! We will be back, thank you Tim!

A break from busy lives
Tent · With kids
I loved camping in the copse of trees and the kids loved it too. It was serene, relaxing and a great break away from the hustle and bustle of life. Thank you so much for opening up your home for us to enjoy. I enjoyed my early morning cuppa listening to the birdsong, I suspect twitchers would have a field day.

Too expensive and dirty
3 m Class A · With pets
i am no stranger to wild camping , however charging £54 for a campervan and a dog, is quite frankly outrageous. I do not expect cut grass and certainly dont wish to stay on white motorhome sites, but this place did not merit the price at all. The spring was an old hose in a ditch, the shower was filthy and decrepid and there were two old caravan sinks for the water supply, which were also really dirty. Im sure the host is a lovely guy, and the land was nice and i could see how the top wood was a lovely place to pitch a tent, but either lower your prices or clean the place up. Also the dogs barked all night. we wildcamp when we can, but also stay on lots of eco sites and I was really disappointed with this one, way way too much money for what there was. I hate leaving bad reviews, the host did respond on booking and explain what we needed to know, but I wouldnt recommend I'm afraid
