Island campsite in the center of town on beautiful Amelia Island. If you are into hiking, biking, beaching, boating, surfing and exploring, this is a great base camp. Quiet neighborhood, close to town and the beaches. The lighthouse is in the neighborhood and a short walk. Walk or bike to historic downtown with many restaurants, bars and shopping. Come see us!Single RV/trailer plot nestled in the center of the island, approx 1 1/2 miles to the beautiful beaches of Amelia Island and a mile to the historic district of Fernandina (great for shopping, dinning, or simply watching the sunset). The camp site is in my side yard and was originally put in place for my travel trailer and now available to you to explore and enjoy all this island offers! The camp site is a single site with 30 amp service and water. There is no bathhouse or toilet so please be prepared. No tent camping please. Please keep in mind there is a slight slope in the yard and it is not a perfectly level surface. Most seasoned campers have no problem leveling the uneven terrain.
Things to do while visiting:
Guided fishing charters, surfing lessons, kayak tours, Biking-Hiking-Kayaking-Swimming-Birding-Beach Combing-Dining-Shopping. A short boat ride to the north is Cumberland National Seashore with literally miles and miles of empty beaches and hiking trails and old ruins. Fort Clinch State Park is less then a mile from camp. Its 1100 acres offers shaded biking and hiking trails, and a Historic Fort worth a visit. Little Talbot State Park is 15 miles to the south, it offers isolated beaches with awesome hiking and biking trails.

Camping here places you conveniently between the beach and downtown, offering easy access to both with the added bonus of electric and water hook-ups. Most campers appreciate the peacefulness and the helpfulness of the host, Peter. However, some have noted that the site is on a slope, which can make leveling challenging, and a few felt that the pricing was high given the lack of sewage hook-up. Despite these issues, many would return for the location and hospitality.

Quiet nook near beach

Not too many places have electric and water hook-up so we were grateful for that. The scenery was beautiful and very close to the beach and a beautiful park that was in walking distance. Very quiet and peaceful. The site is on a slope and even with our leveling system it was difficult to get near level but not a major issue. We would definitely rebook if ever in the area.

We loved this site and Peter was so gracious and recommendations were superb! We felt very secluded even though site is in a beautiful neighborhood. Location is close to everything. (State park is a must!) We had zero problems with the tiny slope. The island is a gem!! Thanks, Peter, for the great experience. We will be back!!
