Beautiful property adjoining thousands of acres of state land, trails, and great views of lake Skegomog. Two rustic sites available with fire rings. We will allow horses must have own fencing systems. Access to the north country trail, and other orv trails system. 15 minutes to Torch lake, Elk Rapids, and Traverse city. Really a great location to get to almost anywhere in northern Michigan. Our property is very unique in the relation to everything that is around it. Traverse City being so close as well as torch lake, elk rapids and it's not a very far drive to charlevoix Petoskey, the bridge or even Mackinaw Island. The NCT (North country trail) is just down the road and am willing to accommodate hikers with advanced notice. Please contact ahead of time to work details out. It never hurts to ask so please let me know if I can help make your hike more enjoyable. We have a lake about a mile from the property that you can walk to,bike, jog, ride your side by side or horses to. This property butts up to the national Forest and many trails for horse riding ORV riding or just cruising around on dirt roads. We are very close to Guernsey lake State Park which is just a quick drive down dockery road. Also sand lakes quiet area is right in this area too. We are a 5-minute drive to Turtle Creek Casino, and the Grand Traverse resort is just past that at maybe 10 minutes. We are open to more guests than six at a campsites just please be respectful of the property and pay the extra 5$ per person/vehicle. We have rustic campsites please be very careful of fire and don't leave trash. Obviously we like the motto leave it better than it was when you got there. We do have some family disc golf baskets around the property. We are hoping to add more accommodations in the very near future. Please let us know what can better accommodate your stay. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. THE SITES: :BOONDOCKS the most level grassy area with good shade options, pit toilet, fire ring, charcoal grill, table and a few camp chairs. Multiple good spots for tents. Short walk to the top of the hill for sunsets or fireworks on the fourth. :BENT BIRCH multiple options to pitch a ⛺. May accommodate campers and trailers with a more open layout. Charcoal grill, Porta John, picnic table, fire ring, and a cool sunset spot. :SHADY GROVE as rustic as it gets. A fire ring is all that is at this location. Upgrades coming soon. Note: All sites have access to the national forest directly to the south of my property. If you have ORV, dirt bikes, etc Please use caution on my property. My family has dogs and young children that could be anywhere on the property Please send me a message if you have any questions or concerns.

Great place to explore
Tent
If you like being left alone and having access to roam, this is great spot. Although it feels far from the main street, the road noise is quite noticeable. It didn't disrupt us tho. There's some nice hammock spots in his woods & open space for star gazing .Great location for a base camp, with all the area has to offer. It's primitive style camping. Sam was very cool. I'd be happy to return.

We had an awesome time! This is our second time here and it won’t be our last for sure. We love how secluded it is and the awesome trails it has for the atvs, the dogs also really enjoyed being out in the open surrounded by trees. The host was amazing and they always do the most to help and are quick to answer if you have any questions which is very helpful.

Very private. We had a wonderful, uninterrupted time at Sherwood Forest. We would return again. But you can’t drive a nice car back there. It’s 2 track sketch.

Tent
I stayed here for the weekend of the 4th of July, and I’m so glad I did! My camp site was secluded, I had plenty of privacy during my visit. The terrain was great for setting up my tent, there was a fire ring, charcoal grill, outhouse, and large fold up table at the site. There was also some very cute wildflower planters at the site (wish I had gotten pictures!). The host provided clean water and dry firewood at the onset of my visit, he also directed me back to my site, as well gave me some recommendations of things to do in the area. It’s a great location, close to Traverse City, Alden, and Bellaire, plenty of things to do nearby.

We had to cancel our trip last minute d/t some travel trailer issues. Sam was super understanding and communicated very well to make sure we were okay. I know the area up there and will definitely book this place again if we can ever get back to the area.
