Great location for Tamworth Country Music Festival, walk or cycle into Tamworth CBD.
20 acres on the Peel River. Campsites are not on the river about a 400m walk to the river via a laneway. We have a couple of horses, a few chooks and lots of avian wildlife live on the property. Peaceful and with abundant trees.
Hot water shower, flushing toilet and 10 amp power available. Good access for caravans and all types of vehicles. Dogs or other pets not accepted. No campfires, total fire bans often in place here. This peaceful campsite is great for campers, small vans and motorhomes as we have great amenities including a flushing toilet, water, hot shower, a laundry, gas BBQ and shade.
Campers do need to bring their own hoses for water connection to a garden tap.
Great location for Tamworth Country Music Festival and a short (2.5km) walk or cycle into Tamworth CBD.
Our 20 acres are on the Peel River. Even though we are only 2.5kms from the CBD we are surrounded by lucerne paddocks and our road is quiet with no through traffic. However the campsites are not on the river - but are only a 400m walk away to a lovely cool dip.
We only have three campsites open so you will have the place pretty much to yourselves.

Royal Oaks offers a tranquil and scenic camping experience, just a stone's throw from Tamworth. Campers appreciated the peacefulness, the clean amenities, and the welcoming hosts, Christine and David. Many enjoyed the proximity to the Peel River and the chance to see local wildlife, including birds and horses. A few reviewers mentioned the distance being slightly more than walkable to town, but overall, the site's serene atmosphere and convenient location left a positive impression.

We both loved our recent stay with Christine and Dave. We loved it so much we will certainly stay again when we head back that way again hopefully in the future. Very quiet peaceful and relaxing spot nice mowed green grassy areas being only a short distance to Tamworth roughly 2km. Bird life was beautiful toilet shower was nice and close to us all and very clean. Certainly home away from home.Thank you so much again for our stay. Kindest regards Tracey and Rob.

If you had the choice of either a caravan park or Christine’s land, Christine’s would win hands down. What a beautiful spot! We only stayed for 4 nights, could have stayed for 4 weeks. Had everything that we needed. Fell in love with the peacefulness and a beautiful horse. There’s even a small walk to the Peel River to go for a swim. Would highly recommend.

Peaceful, quiet but close to town

Really lovely and peaceful - we were lucky and had the place to ourselves.
It truly felt like we were miles from anywhere, but we were actually only about 5 minutes to Tamworth so felt like the best of all worlds. Loved sitting looking out over the paddocks, watching the horses checking us out, and wandering down to the river.
Great to have access to power (10Amp), water and a nice clean flush toilet.
Lovely stay.

Great location

We enjoyed two nights at Royal Oaks and loved the location right on the doorstep of East Tamworth but on small acreage fronting the Peel River. Chris was warm and welcoming, showing us to our campsite and providing local information. Chris has great facilities, we used our time to catch up on washing and really appreciated the clean and easy access to the hot shower and flushing toilet and water to fill our tank. We fished the Peel River and generally relaxed enjoying the rural outlook and surroundings. Thanks Chris for a lovely stay.

Lovely quiet rural property but also only about 3 klms to the centre of town. Water, power and amenities were a plus.
Christine and David made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend.
