Northern tableland property with a boundary on Tenterfield creek. Open creek flats running back to timbered hills and gullies. Part of the Donnybrook range which straddles the Queensland/New South Wales border.
The creek is on one of the major waterholes on Tenterfield Creek with the lower section being shallow rapids with small rocky pools. It supports native waterbirds, wildlife, & platypus have been sighted.
The property has been sensitively cleared with areas of open woodland & dense tea tree & wattle scrub. When the season is on there are many native wildflowers & flowering plants. Kangaroos & wallaby are often seen.
Dog friendly. No amenities so campers need to BYO everything they need and leave no trace.
We loved staying on Paul’s fantastic property, beautiful running creek all to our selves for swimming and kayaking! Camping spots were all very nicely cleared and Paul was a great bloke who just let us be for the trip. Would recommend to anybody and will be back again for sure!
This was my first camping trip, Paul is a great host. The camping area is mowed and level, there is a gate to the property so I felt confident leaving my camp site to go into town 15 minutes away to get supplies. I stayed for 4 nights, it was peaceful right on a river embankment with a small Goanna as a resident. I tried to book for Australia day weekend to go back, someone bet me to it! Was not happy however this camp site will hold my heart because it was my first time camping.
We had an enjoyable winter camp at Paul's property. We did not see the sun for over 3 days and temperatures barely got over 10 degrees, however we still had an excellent time in a beautiful and quiet location.
Paul's property is far enough out of town to feel secluded and yet close enough for a breakfast and a latte in town.
There are many excellent walks within an easy drive and yet the campsite overlooks a creek which can be fished.
Paul was a great host who would not intrude but was up for a chat when approached. He was very generous in leaving a trailer load of fire wood which was perfect for the winter stay. If you want a quiet, tranquil getaway but still close to many activities at Tenterfield, then this is the place for you.
Great site for camping on Tenterfield Creek, Paul is a great host slashed all the camping sites and provided a trailer load of good quality firewood that was more than enough for our stay, good directions and communicator and meet us at the gate on arrival, kayaks and canoes provided which was a bonus and our dogs loved the site.
Beautiful property, creek was awesome for swimming and dogs had a blast.
Paul was great, prepared a trailer of firewood for us and let us be. Very private and quiet.
Very friendly host! Beautiful and piece full campsite with river access. Owners were lovely enough to lend us some kayaks and the dogs had a blast.
Would definitely return
