Valley Bear Farms Balsam Grove is a serene getaway spot located in Balsam Grove, NC, just an hour's drive from Asheville. Spread out across 150 acres of beautiful rolling hills and mountains, our resort features four cozy cabins that are perfect for those seeking some peace and quiet. You can explore various nature trails onsite that lead to calming streams, a pond for trout fishing, a scenic waterfall, volleyball and pickleball courts, a private garden, and more. Our cabins are designed to provide you with an immersive nature experience, with multiple windows that offer stunning views of the natural surroundings. The cabins feature a comfortable king bed or two queen bunk beds with fresh linens, as well as a private patio where you can relax and soak up the tranquil atmosphere. You can stay with us for a night or a week, and during your stay, you can recharge your batteries and reconnect with your loved ones. It's more than just camping - it's a chance to experience nature in a whole new way. We have multiple cabins available at our outpost, so your view, layout, and design may vary slightly from the one shown. Lazy Bear 466

We had an amazing weekend at the Lazy Bear Cabin with our dog. The cabin and bathrooms were clean, the bed was so comfy, and the staff was very kind, especially Chris who made sure we always had enough firewood. Highly recommend this beautiful spot—we’ll be back soon!

Looking Glass 454 Mirror Cabin

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Valley Bear— from the cabin, to the customer service, and the amenities! The hosts and the site’s manager were all so helpful throughout our stay and even better we were one of the only ones on the site at the time due to their soft opening! There was a little bit of everything for the whole family— pet area for my pooch to run free, volleyball/corn hole/pickleball for the kiddo, swimming hole for the husband, and a beautiful garden for me. I definitely would recommend. Few things to mention unrelated to the site itself; it’s about a 25 minute drive up the mountain, so i suggest you grab what you need BEFORE you make your way up. There’s only one gas station close to the site that is cash only. The town itself is very conservative, the epitome of Deep South, so if you’re not used to this it could be alarming.
