Three creek-side tent sites and an RV site in an enchanted forest! Enjoy well maintained walking trails, hidden treasure boxes, scavenger hunts, gnome hide and seek, and learning about a working shiitake mushroom farm! All sites are spaced out for maximum privacy - see map!
Each site includes a large propane grill, fire pit, solar string lights, tables and seating, hammocks, critter proof boxes for food, and firewood available for purchase (conveniently located at the site). Clean composting toilet (serviced 2x a day).
Rental items include tents (we will set up for you), sleeping pads, coolers with ice, potable water jugs, and insect screens.
Within a couple miles of Southern Revere Brewery/Winery and scenic Forrest Green Farm.
There is a lot to do on the property:
* 40 acres with a couple miles of trails you can hike or bike (map provided)
* Self-guided tour of mushroom farm
* Hidden creature scavenger hunt
* Gnomes are hidden throughout the forest for you to find AND hide!
* Hidden treasure boxes - take something and/or leave something!
The campsite offers a serene and private experience, with beautiful forest surroundings and convenient amenities like hammocks, grills, and a well-equipped RV. Visitors appreciate the attention to detail, from the cleanliness of facilities to thoughtful touches like a welcome basket with s'mores. The site is ideal for families, with activities such as scavenger hunts and a mushroom farm tour adding to the charm. While most feedback is overwhelmingly positive, a few reviews noted minor issues such as inconsistent solar lights and challenging terrain for vehicles.
Overall great experience but wood provided was perhaps too seasoned it was degraded tad rotten burning up fast. Also small stumps around site were annoying and hazardous walking from cooking area to fire with food tripping and dropping food.
Loved the campsite. We were at Hummingbird, with the camper. Kathryn is an excellent host and was very responsive if we had any questions. The site felt isolated and the dogs had a great time running around. There were hammocks, chairs, two picnic tables. We used the propane grill for cooking, that has a charcoal grill on the side if you choose to bring charcoal. They have all of the cooking utensils, and even plates, eating utensils, and mugs in the trailer for those of us that forgot to bring them. There are maps that they provide to go for hiking around the property. They have a nice compost toilet that's about 10 minutes away from the campsite (we did not use the toilet offered in the camper). There's plenty of firewood that you pay through venmo. All in all we had a blast and would definitely return again.
I loved it here! The campsite was so cute and quiet and had everything we needed and more! And it was really nice to be able to walk around the property and see the mushroom farm!
I loved how well maintained the site was! The grill and cooking accessories were very helpful! The bathroom was very clean and all other campers were respectful! The site was beautiful, and it was wonderful walking around the mushroom farm! The host was very responsive and helpful!
Waterthrush at Phantom Hill was a lovely weekend getaway with nature. The site had great seating, fire ring, table, comfy hammocks, and a grill for meals. The farm trails were full of sweet surprises including the self guided tour of the mushroom farm. The shared outhouse was close but not too close. This Hip Camp spot is just as described with hidden treasures.
Had an absolutely wonderful weekend camping at the Catbird site. Kathryn went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed. The place is beautiful. Will definitely be back!
