The campground, which has restrooms and showers, is set among shady pine groves and provides easy access to the river, as well as being a short walk away from the lake.

At this large, family friendly campground you'll pitch your tent right by the lake! We camped here this summer and the weather was so nice we didn't even use the top flap of our tent. When we woke up we walked down to the lake and picked fresh blackberries. The bathrooms also have electrical outlets.

Your guide to camping in Turlock Lake Campground

Overview

Boating

Turlock Lake is a mecca for all things lake based. Needless to say, boating happens to be a big thing here! Invert Sports rents all sorts of water craft if that is your thing. Boat launch ramps all offered around the lake.

Fishing

Turlock Lake has some pretty decent fishing options for the angler inside of you. Whether you’re into fishing for bass, catfish, or “crappie” (we’re not sure what that is either), Turlocks got them. For more detailed fishing info, go here .

Paddling

Turlock Lake is a great year-round spot for kayakers, especially those who double as anglers. Rainbow trout can be caught while fishing from the comfort of your kayak. When you go, be sure to call and check on water levels ahead of time - the lake is sometimes too shallow for kayaking.

Swimming

Swimming is permitted in the lake (yay!). If you’re feeling like taking a dip, go check out “swim beach” and get wet!
