Various local surf spots can be found to the north and south of Thornhill Broome. Lessons and surfboard rentals are available in Ventura.
While on the beach, you may spot seals, dolphins, and whales popping up from the water or terns, gulls, and pelicans patrolling the surf. Hikers should keep an eye out for deer, rabbits, coyotes, and California quails.
