3 nights at Richard Wizardy's Cynosure Project

Richard is a generous and kind host, as is his tenant/assistant. The entry into the property is a bit off putting, but the sites are well maintained. It’s like camping in a grove and very lovely. Richard has two huge livestock guardians dogs that look very intimidating, but are both lovely creatures. The older would lay outside our door like she was guarding it. It is a very quiet location.

Great place to stay in cave creek. Loved the central location to everything, plus it was very quiet and peaceful on Mel’s property. Bonus points for the super nice bathroom/shower!

Weekend Trip to Red Rock Roping, LLC

Red Rock Roping is a great escape from the traffic and crowds of the Greater Phoenix area. We stayed 2 nights, in a very quiet upscale neighborhood. Enjoyed good food at the Horny Toad and Ofrenda. We drove into Scottsdale to tour Frank Lloyd Wrights desert studio Taliesin West. And hiked in Spur Cross Ranch preserve. Our host Mel was great about communicating, the sites are level, and the 2 other HipCampers were quiet but friendly. Great shared areas, clean bathroom, good showers and laundry. Would definitely stay again - thanks so much for hosting us.

Weekend Trip to Santan Mountain Views

This is one of the most wonderful places I have ever stayed! Julie is a super host, so kind and checks in to be sure everything is in order. Great facility, private area separated from the house. Nothing else is available anywhere in the Santan Valley. Fenced area, great for dogs.

This property is a peaceful and beautiful desert landscape nestled amongst the saguaros. It was a treat to see so many of the cacti in bloom. We did not meet our hosts but they communicated promptly and the directions provided were clear.

Loved that it is situated on a ranch. Very well-kept and had everything you might need. The horses and other animals around were a big plus.

Sweet quiet place, beautiful views very near amenities and great town of Cave Creek. We loved being near the animals, though that also comes with the aroma, which we didn’t mind one bit. Walking trail right off main road to walk our dog. 30 amp is on extension cord and worked fine to run our a/c. Loved it.

Richard was absolutely lovely! From the second we pulled in he was helpful and friendly. He offered us a full tour of his space and the chance to meet all the animals. He even offered us food or to take some duck eggs with us in the morning. The camping area was such a cool space filled with metal pyrotechnic sculptures and a creative energy. Richard is quite the artist and we are greatful to have been able to stay and meet him.

Weekend Trip to Phoenix Mountains Treehouse

My goodness!!! This was such a wonderful experience. My friend and ai went out to Phoenix for the first ever Reggae Rise Up Festival in Tempe and stayed in Niko’s treehouse. Their ENTIRE house is beautiful and oh so peaceful ☺️…. The treehouse had everything we needed for our stay, I especially loved the shampoo and conditioner 😂. Showering outdoors felt so good, it’s a must have for a house. The sweet little old collie was walking around (as best she could), the swing was an added charm, I felt so calm and peaceful the entire weekend. I would definitely come back to stay another weekend. Weekend Trip to Marguerita Ranch

This was our first time using Hipcamp (& our trailer) & loved our experience. Macy was great with communications, was incredibly welcoming, hospitable & kind. She was generous with her time showing my human circus around & even let them meet her new chicks (so stinking adorable). The property was close enough to town & other “stuff” that we didn’t feel like we were too far into isolation, yet off the main road enough to feel like we could enjoy the great outdoors. The great takeaways were: we felt that we could message her & get a quick response, we felt safe with her & being at her property, we were off the beaten trail just the right amount & we loved how welcoming she was to our tiny human. oooh! For any other first-timers: measure first, set up second. After setting up & leveling the trailer we learned we were 5” short on reaching the electric outlet. Total Back to the Future moment trying to connect cords. Good times! Thank you, Macy for the memories! And thank you for laughing with us (or maybe at us 😁) through it all.

Right outside our entrance going North on 80th Street you can hike over to the Grapevine Wash which is a short walk away from the Cave Creek Town Trail System for hiking and horseback riding, and if you’re adventurous you can hike up 2 miles of a 800’ climb on a gravel road/trails to “Mexican Hat” for an even more incredible view! We are a 30 amp full hook up (sewer, water & electrical) for 33’ RV’s and living quarters horse trailers. You will also have access to our community laundry area, with a large garbage can to dump a bag if needed. Some suggestions for town; Grab some quick delicous breakfast and coffee at Janey’s. Or American cuisine lunch at The Horny Toad, a Mexican cuisine dinner while watching the turtles in the pond at El Encanto! Ofrenda, right at the end of the road, also has great authentic Mexican cuisine. Many restaurants to choose from all within a short drive. Bashas, Safeway, Target, and Walmart and Sprouts are all within a 3-6 mile drive too! We have two turnout pens for horses. That are located right behind where you will park your trailer. They both have a cover that provides some shade, as well as running water. We do not provide any feed, so please make sure you bring some! There are hiking/horseback riding trails right off of my property that take you to the Spur Cross Conservation Area, or you can head 10 minutes north to the trailhead. We are Kevin and Tammii. We moved to Mesa in 2019 to build our own “Field of Dreams”. In developing our property we added a Hip-Camp site to our vision. We’ve enjoyed hosting people from all around the country. We’re can accommodate guests for up to three weeks and unable to offer monthly rates. We welcome families with up to two children. Pets are welcome, two or less, and we have a designated pet area for their use. There are two nice sitting areas, a laundry shed with washer, dryer, and drying rack. Internet access is also available. More about the “Field of Dreams”: Our site has a paved level concrete pad with 50 amp service, water, and septic. RVs are required to come with empty holding tanks because of the septic system. We can accommodate up to 43 feet in length RVs. There is a nice landscaped patio area with table, chairs, umbrella, and a privacy screen. There is also a propane fire pit available. Our site is close to Costco, Starbucks, local restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, and a mall. There is nearby mountain biking, hiking, and site seeing. We are 30 minutes from downtown Phoenix in a quiet residential area.
