Redding offers RVers proximity to countless mountain and lake adventures.
Redding sits at the bottom of Northern California’s Cascade Range, providing a gateway to outdoor attractions such as Lassen National Forest, Lassen Volcanic National Park, McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park, Mount Shasta, Shasta-Trinity National Forest, and Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. This area is home to more than 3 million acres of hiking and biking trails, Alpine lakes, snowy peaks, fishing, boating, water sports, amazing natural beauty, and stars to admire around a campfire. And with its location at the junction of Interstate 5 and two state highways, Redding is an easy stop on an RV road trip. RV parks dot I-5 around Shasta Lake and in Redding, where the Sacramento River runs mostly parallel to the interstate. Most have full hookups and amenities such as pools and Wi-Fi. Temperatures can reach nearly 100°F in the summer, while Winters are cool and wet. Late spring and fall have pleasant weather with fewer crowds.
