2 nights at Trailer Lane Campground

This site was a gem! With a view of Mt Shasta, the campground is quiet and serene. With lake Shastina just a few minutes away, there are plenty of things to do, including hiking and a 15 min drive to see the waterfalls. The rv site is fully prepped and there is a market on the property with fresh eggs, rv supplies, firewood, etc. etc. Our two kids 7 & 11 loved the farm animals and spent hours walking on the property and enjoying the outdoors. The campground is safe and clean, and the owners are very welcoming. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We took a road trip around NorCal in a 32' RV. Dawn's site provided a perfectly located stop point for us on 299 with full hookups. The site is easy to get in and out of, everything is meticulously well-maintained. There is a cafe just across the street (walking 1 min) with great coffee (and food) that they roast and distribute themselves. The owners are very welcoming and will help answer any questions you may have. And of course you're right on the Trinity river, so bald eagles and deer crossing river is what you'll get.

Weekend Trip to Radio Ranch Camp

It was a great upgrade to our usual backcountry camping. I truly appreciate that they implement a sustainable and eci friendly camping experience. Truly impressed with how RR is so blessed with nature around from the waterfalls relaxing sound to the actual hike to the falls and the story behind RR. What a gem. 💖

Noam was very friendly and accommodating. Our site in his front yard had a nice view of Mt. Shasta and it was very quiet inside our RV there. It was also very conveniently situated close to I-5.

Nice site in a quiet neighborhood. We had the choice of 3 spots and chose one with a beautiful view of Mt Shasta. Host met us and gave us useful information on the site and where we could go for a walk. 26’ rv had no problem maneuvering.

We really enjoyed our stay at Shasta Mountaineer. We set up our RV among a stand of tall trees in front of (host) Noam’s house. The site was pretty level. We had a close-up view of the peak of Mt. Shasta from our bedroom window. Gorgeous! Noam is the most pleasant, easy-going person one could ever hope to meet. He’s a soft-spoken guy who’s attentive to the guests’ needs, but not more than one would want. We felt very relaxed while we were there.

The Shasta cottage was really nice. Quiet little area and near by the hiking areas i planned to go to which is a plus. It is kind of small and has a small restroom if you’re the type of person that needs more space (that didn’t bother me much). they have everything you need with a stove and cooking utensils,etc..

This facility is more like a campground than an RV Park! Several back-in sites with full hookups on the outer perimeter, like A4, are surrounded by oak and pine trees. The facility is spotless in general. The bathrooms/shower rooms were heated, and the shower stalls were new and in perfect shape. Laundry facility onsite as well. It is a great place to restock and recharge if you are on a long journey or just spending time in the Mt Shasta, Weed, Yreka area. This will be my go-to place in the Nor-Cal I5/97 corridor.

Dominy’s yurt is amazing. The second we walked into the property we were all in awe at its beauty. I know it may be hard to believe given how stunning the photos make it looks but it is somehow better than what is pictured. The space is warm with an open layout. I look forward to staying here again and greeting the pups, Duke, Tiny, and Sis!

As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe and comfortable at Trailer Lane. The grounds were clean and organized, the bathrooms were spotless. I was not in the least bothered by the freeway sounds. I will definitely reserve a spot again next time I make the trip from California to Oregon. Many thanks for a comfortable, clean, safe place to stay!

Our group really enjoyed staying in Dominy’s yurt! It was equipped with everything we needed and more! We had an amazing weekend playing board games and taking a hike, which the two doggos (Tiny and Duke) led us on! We also enjoyed seeing all the hens and horses on the ranch as well as the family’s newest pup, Sis ☺️

We absolutely loved this camping area! The site was clean, well-maintained, and the view was truly stunning. On a clear, moonless night, the sky came alive with stars and constellations—it was breathtaking. We even heard a few coyotes howling in the distance, which added to the wilderness experience without being disruptive. The host, Alex, was fantastic and went above and beyond by helping us with extra firewood, which we really appreciated. This is definitely a spot we’d love to return to in the summer. The only thing that could make this place even better would be the addition of toilet facilities. Overall, a wonderful experience! Highly recommend.

Great spot - right off I-5, easy to get to, clean and you get some peek a boo glimpses of Mount Shasta. The layout of the campground is very thoughtful, the host has great communication and there is a little camp store if you forgot something. The animals onsite are a bonus!

If you are turning onto a dirt road without a sign....you are on the wrong road. Juniper Valley Spur is my short culdesac road with a road sign and a green pipe rail gate at the end. We have 3 RV sites available for campers to book. Please note that we do not have RV hookups for any of the sites. You will be parking on loose gravel and the sites are relatively flat. We can accommodate most RVs/trailers, if you are uncertain about the size just send me a message. There is a portapotty in the hay barn cleaned regularly and a water spigot for non-potable water uses or for a quick outdoor shower with a handheld spritzer. It is not enclosed so you will need to be discreet. Pets are allowed at campsites #2 and #3 only. These campsites are farthest from the horses and dogs. Please keep dogs on leash at all times. Our property offers a beautiful view of Mount Shasta. Nature lovers, extreme sports enthusiasts, family vacationers and retirees, can all enjoy the vast recreational opportunities this area has to offer. Lake Siskiyou is about 20 miles south and offers a wonderful 7-mile hiking trail around the entire lake. Bring your horses too. I have a couple of electric-fenced paddocks for visitors.

SITE SPECS There are many RV hook-up sites with easy pull-throughs. We can accommodate your RVs up to 55 feet. Most sites have 30-amp electrical hook-ups and some designated sites accommodate up to 50 amps. Wi-Fi is available to most campsites on our new High-Speed WiFi system. We are constantly working to upgrade this system but there is no guarantee of its operating status or available bandwidth. It has been pretty reliable after our last upgrade. Each FHU RV Site has a TV connected to our new 48 Channel, Digital, DirecTV system. Some TV’s are not compatible with our MP4 Digital System and some guests have difficulty configuring their RV/TV system. We have some troubleshooting tips that give 95% of our RV guests access to our TV System but there are no guarantees. DINE IN A RAILROAD CAR The Dining Car Restaurant is one of the most interesting restaurants in Dunsmuir, CA. Built inside authentic, vintage railroad cars, the restaurant is a museum itself. Inside its antique cars is an atmosphere steeped in nostalgia. Antique hand tools, gauges, pictures, signals and other artifacts recall the glory days of railroading in the west and specifically the Dunsmuir and McCloud area. Above the bar is a hand built scale replica of the Southern Pacific Cascade, which once plied the rails between San Francisco and Portland. Enjoy your favorite cocktail or a specialty drink. In the warmer months, relax on our patio deck and gaze up at the view of Castle Crags. The Dining Car Restaurant offers an experience unlike other restaurants in Dunsmuir. As the trail proceeds, you’ll cross over a small stream and through lush forests. Soon, the sound of the falls will become audible. When you reach the falls, you’ll enjoy picture-perfect photo opportunities from several angles. Another unique feature of Hedge Creek Falls is the opportunity to walk behind the falling water. Here, you’ll find a cave of sorts that is also a popular destination for local rock climbers.
