Mountain Meadow Glamp Camp

1 site · Lodging160 acres · Alma, CO
Campgrounds, people, noises, regulations, things you won't find here. You will find happiness, peace, the sound of the winds in 3000 year old trees, alpine streams tricking through ancient untouched forests, great horned owls and moose calling into the night, coyote echoing at sunset signaling night approaching, the warm smell of pine and summer grasses, touching the warm rocks next to the stream while you listen to the birds and crickets. I could go on and on, these are the things I see when I close my eyes and think of this place. This site sits at the base of (2) 14ers. in thee middle of a sunken meadow. This is the most beautiful and secluded camping experience you will experience in Colorado. There are miles of 4x4 and atv trails. There are countless hiking trails for day and short nature hikes. Above the site sits bristlecone pines that have appeared in ansel adams prints and are absolutely amazing. The sites sit on 160 private acres which borders national forest. There is a small a-frame tent that's insulated with big windows, locking door, skylight, solar for charging electronics, and a full size bed. The cabin is roughly the size of the full size mattress but seems bigger because of the a-frame roof. Its warm and cozy and keeps the critters and animals out, so you feel safe and comfortable. There are lots of amenities on site.  There is a picnic table, 10'x12' waterproof awning and wood deck.  There is a bbq, bear box, huge stone fire pit and bucket toilet. The road into the site was graded last year but still has small potholes typical of a Colorado county road, most low-profile cars will do fine.  If you have a rv or camper, the turn around is limited, no tow behind campers or vehicles over 20'

Mountain A-Frame 30 min Ski El Dora

1 site · Lodging1 acre · Black Hawk, CO
Little Gem Lodge is privately located an hour outside of Denver with ~30 mins drive to Golden Gate Canyon, El Dora and Black Hawk casinos with a private hot tub! The Lodge appeals to outdoor adventure enthusiasts, skiers/boarders, city dwellers seeking peace, healing space, digital nomads and families. Explore local small towns Rollinsville, Nederland, Wondervu. Bypass I70 ski traffic to access major resorts or X Country rec parks and amazing hikes. ~1 hour to RMNP, Georgetown Train, Ward. The space The house is located on an acre of land in Black Hawk, CO which is about an hour outside of Denver just past the Golden Gate Canyon State Park. The surrounding area has amazing Mountain Views and you can drive to the town of Black Hawk for dinner/Casinos in about 20 minutes (depending on the weather), to Rollinsville in about 20 minutes in the other direction, or to El Dora in about 30 minutes. Given that it takes about 20 minutes to get to any neighboring small town, note that the house location is remote. It is located in a residential neighborhood where most houses are on an acre of land. Because of that, sound travels very easily so while it is usually quiet, you can easily hear dogs barking or loud music. Many of my guests love that this space is PRIVATE on an entire acre of land without any street noise. Enjoy this beautiful home without worrying about where or when you have to be somewhere. Black Hawk - have your own private space and hot tub and escape some of the madness of staying at the casinos by opting to stay at Little Gem Lodge! Small Towns (Rollinsville, Nederland, Black Hawk, Wondervu, Idaho Springs) - there are lots of cute local restaurants and breweries in each of these towns. Hiking + Cross Country Ski/Rec Areas - You have close access to Golden Gate Canyon State Park, St Mary's Glacier, Rocky Mountain National Park (~1-1.5 hours), 14ers. It's an awesome outdoor enthusiast location in any season because of its proximity to the mountains and state parks. Guest access You will have access to the entire house. It’s two stories with two bedrooms and a bathroom on the main level and one bedroom/one bathroom on the second level. Other things to note Dirt roads lead to the property that require at a minimum an AWD or 4x4 vehicle.

A-frame cabins near Evergreen guide

Overview

Nested in the Rocky Mountains, Evergreen is just 19 miles west of Denver. A historic downtown offers amenities while Evergreen Lake and several public parks offer year-round outdoor recreation, including golfing, hiking, biking, climbing, horseback riding, fishing, paddling, and ice skating. Enjoy scenic views of the Rocky Mountain foothills and plenty of old growth evergreens. While there are no camping options within Evergreen itself, there are plenty of campgrounds to be found in the surrounding areas, from mountains and lakes to forests and wilderness.

Where to go

Mt. Evans and Georgetown

Head west to tackle the 14,270-foot Mt. Evans by driving the highest paved road in Colorado, then hiking to the summit. Camp at the base with your tent or RV at Echo Lake Campground in Arapaho National Forest, pitch your tent in the Mt. Evans Wilderness Area, or camp at the Camp Rock Campground. Explore the historic town of Georgetown, then drive the Guanella Pass Scenic Byway, with numerous trails and camping options on the way to Grant. North of Georgetown, the Arapaho and Roosevelt national forests offer more than a million acres of wilderness for outdoor recreation and camping.

Denver

Colorado’s largest city and capital is just 30 minutes east and offers a wealth of urban adventure, while several area state parks pack in outdoor recreation and camping opportunities. Enjoy a reservoir, rolling hills, and campgrounds with amenities at Chatfield State Park or Cherry Creek State Park. Or head to Morrison to catch a movie or show at Red Rocks Park Amphitheatre and stay at a full service campground at Bear Creek Lake Park in Lakewood.

Golden Gate Canyon and Rocky Mountain National Park

Head north to Golden Gate Canyon State Park to go off the grid and camp or glamp in a tent, RV, cabin, or yurt. Or hop on the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway from Central City past Nederland to Estes Park, where you can choose from numerous campgrounds along the byway and RV parks just outside town. For vast mountain landscapes and alpine lakes, continue on to Rocky Mountain National Park, home to several seasonal campgrounds and plenty of backcountry sites.

When to go

Evergreen is most popular in summer and winter. Boat rentals and public concerts are available on Evergreen Lake from May to September, while the popular Annual Dam Duck Derby is held in August. The Mt. Evans Byway is open in summer, while Mt. Evans State Wildlife Area is open from June to December. Ice skating and ice fishing are popular on Evergreen Lake once it freezes over.

Know before you go
