South of Florissant National Fossil Beds and NE of Canon City.  Details: 100+ acres of private land that borders BLM so hundreds of additional acres available with amazing views of the west side of Pikes Peak. **I've been a HipCamp host for years, but I took a break to care for family so there's a brief time gap in reviews. Voted a Top HipCamp Colorado Site in 2018.** Cabin: Sleeps 5. Small hunting cabin that can sleep two in twin beds down stairs, 3 twin beds upstairs, couch opens to a sleeper if more beds are needed. Carry in your own water and propane for camping stove. No well; no power. Total "primitive" cabin; you have a roof, windows, wood stove, cookware and tableware, simple yet clean cabin, counter tops and cook stove available. Owner will communicate with you to make sure this is a good fit before owner accepts the reservation. Allow time for that in the reservation process.    On Holiday Weekends, only three day reservations will be accepted. Bring your food, water, fuel for the camper stove,  paper products, and camera and leave with a full heart and great time in the mountains! **NO DOGS ALLOWED**

There are (2) 1 Min trails that lead you straight to River Access. Not wanting to get that close? No worries; watch the paddlers and rafters float by all summer long. If the Arkansas River is not enough of a playground for you, you will be happy to know that you have an uninterrupted view of Mount Princeton and the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Peaks. We are also located 1/2 mile from some of the most famous mountain biking trails the USA offers. Mount Princeton Hot Springs are a beautiful 10.5 mile (15 min) drive away. Our campground offers a dreamy Bathhouse with 5 glamoured showers and 5 bathrooms. We have (14) Yurt glamping sites and (2) Riverfront studio cabins. All sites have electricity (heaters included), parking, fire pits (unless we are facing a fire ban), and picnic table. In addition, we have a large community bonfire location and there is access to outdoor grilling. We are excited to have you!

The Fossil Lodge is nestled in a quiet neighborhood on a little over an acre in the mountains with easy access to fishing and hiking. An hour and a half to skiing, 45 minutes to Colorado Springs, 30 minutes to the historic mining town of Cripple Creek, the S. Platte River’s “Dream Stream” world class angling & fishing, the Crags, Pike’s Peak Highway & plenty of OHV trails nearby. Enjoy an evening outdoors on the deck, wake-up to hot coffee and nature, unwind from the city life. The space Our cabin is conveniently located to all the adventures you can think of - Hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, biking, boating, and fishing. ∙ Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, a 5 minute drive, has been named an International Dark Sky Park and has several trails. ∙ Take a trip to Cripple Creek for gambling or spend the day exploring this historic mining town. ∙ Snowshoe and Cross-country ski at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, Mueller State Park, Horsethief Park and Pancake Rocks. ∙ Boat, kayak, tube, and fish at Eleven Mile Canyon Reservoir (you can actually head 10 minutes down the road to Lake George and hike the 17 mile Eleven Mile Canyon Route). ∙ Hike and bike at Mueller State Park. ∙ Dig for and keep your own 34-million year old fossils at the Florissant Fossil Quarry (summer/fall). We have prepared this space so you can have the most relaxing stay after a long day of adventures. Soak up the Colorado sunshine relaxing on the deck. Cozy up by the easy-to-use pellet stove in the living room or the propane fire pit outdoors. Even enjoy the beautiful starry skies at night. The cabin has a 50-inch RokuTV with streaming capabilities but please note that there is no cable/live TV. Guest access You will have exclusive access to the cabin, driveway for parking for several vehicles (and can even accommodate an RV), and front deck with propane fire pit area. Note that there is no garage access. Other things to note We sit at 8,500 feet in elevation. Please note that the cabin does not have A/C. The days stay fairly cool, even in the summer, and temperatures drop at night - open up a window and enjoy the mountain breeze! The cabin is accessible year round, but the last couple miles are via dirt roads that are well maintained by the county and plowed after snow. Please make sure you are travelling in an appropriate vehicle, especially in the winter. AWD/4WD is highly encouraged. There is plenty of parking and we can also accommodate an RV on the property. PET FRIENDLY: This is a pet-friendly listing for up to two pets. Pets do stay free at our cabin. All dogs must remain leashed - our neighbors have chickens and goats and there is a leash law in Teller County! Please be sure to clean up after your pet outside and try your best to not allow them on furniture.
