Weekend Trip to Stone Mountain Glamping Site

This was such a great time! Kim was very accommodating and Taylor was so helpful in getting us situated. They are very nice people and are willing to take requests as well. I really appreciated Kim’s help with getting a fire started. This place is beautiful.

Weekend Trip to West Preserve

Awesome property and spot. Friendly and responsive host. Site was flat and easy to get to thanks to her written instructions. Also had restroom access and a power plug for charging phones etc. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing a spot in the area.

Weekend Trip to Rest And Relax Retreat

I loved my camp site at the Rest and Relax Retreat. I will definitely come back. The property was beautiful and secluded and still only 10 minutes from Blue Ridge. There was only a few other campsites along the creek so it felt very private. Very well equipped campsite- I really enjoyed swinging in the provided hammocks. Very clean indoor showers and bathrooms were a huge plus for camping also. Highly recommend!

This place was AMAZING! Exactly what I wanted. Not near anyone. Perfect for my antisocial self 😉. It was just me and a friend, but this place has a ton of space. I love how it as the essentials for everything. I want to bring my grown kids back. They will love it.

Weekend Trip to Misty Mountain Inn & Cottages

The cabins are cozy and well appointed. We fell in love with Dragonfly cabin and it's spot amongst the other cabins. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The chickens come out about the same time each morning and it was fun to watch them have breakfast and roam around. We took the opportunity to purchase some of their eggs and were not disappointed. Take the time to walk up the hill to see the horses! The cabins are centrally located to Blairsville, Blue Ridge and Helen with great restaurants and sightseeing in all directions. We wish our stay could have been longer! Thank you to the nicest hosts and we will be back!

2 nights at Andy & Ana's Cute Little Farm

We really enjoyed our time at the farm! The chickens were adorable and their eggs were fantastic. The whole place is beautiful and we will definitely be coming back.

1 night at Broken Tree Saloon

I travel for paddle boarding and recently stopped here to camp for the night. It was a quiet a peaceful night on the property. The host was very accommodating and helpful. If you prepare properly for the trip, and the camping gods are on your side, everything should be nice and easy. Wasting lots of money on expensive “ cheap “ hotels is not the move. Pulling over and spending the night with Mother Nature can be a great option. Spend the extra money on your trip or ape into some risky investment with big upside potential. Or just save it. Either way, QUIT wasting money on hotels along your journey. Thanks Johnny B for the great stay and conversation, it was appreciated!

2 nights at Misty Mountain Inn & Cottages

My Wife and I (dogs as well) were exceptionally pleased with our stay for the weekend. We felt that the overall location is very conveniently placed, however, perfectly hidden. Their property is beautifully maintained. It is very apparent the amount of foresight and hard work that went into developing their land for travelers to visit. From an outside perspective, you feel a sense of humility and nostalgia influenced by the landscape. Our cabin was pleasantly clean and was well prepared for us. Everything inside the cabin functions, as it should. From the individualism in the decorations of each cabin to the craftsmanship of the stairs and landings, it all displayed significant attention to detail. Our dogs had a blast exploring around our cabin. The free ranging chickens made us feel at home. The owners were helpful and accessible to answer questions we had. Our cabin was cozy and was a nice place to lay our heads at night. We were sad to get up this morning and leave. Bill and Sarah have done a great job and should be proud!

Weekend Trip to Stone Mountain Glamping Site

The glampsite at Kim and Trina’s farm is truly a sanctuary in the middle of Atlanta. Not only is the set up a scenic getaway, but the hospitality that Kim and Trina create is truly unmatched. I will be coming back in the future when I visit Atlanta again. Lois

1 night at NW GA Farm Stay

Terrific site - very friendly host. Tidy, quiet, and inviting. We stayed at the water/electric site with a 35’ class A RV. Easy enough to get into, didn’t need to level out. Clean water, 50amp hookup (no 30 amp, so bring an adapter if needed). Grounds were impeccably clean and tidy. Lots of animals, each in their own penned in area. The hosts invited us to go see them, which was fun for us and our child. Very family friendly spot. 10/10, would stay again.

George is an excellent host and the property has so much to offer. Wether you consider yourself a primitive camper and backpacker or prefer a more laid back weekend with amenities and comfort, Georges property is well equipped to satisfy anyone's ideal "weekend in the woods".

6 nights at Cabin and Barn on 20 Peaceful Acres

This was the perfect spot for my son and I. We were looking for a place close to everything (Cloudland Canyon and Lookout Mountain) and this was perfect. The owner has this place set up perfectly. There is a barn area that has a table and sink/prep area (a lot more technically if you don't bring your own stuff), a rustic cabin with electric and a full open air bathroom with an on demand water heater and normal flush toilet (more posh than we usually go for). Also two fire pit areas, plenty of trees to hang hammocks and if your adventurous on the back of the land is the connector trail to The Moonshine Trails. You could also walk to Lulu Lake if open (which has limited open days which we weren't lucky enough). There is a working horse farm next door as explained and entertaining to watch, but they were no disturbance what-so-ever. For those that are thinking about it, there was also no smell. Saw the owner out there leading some groups, but they were to themselves. The barn cats Lucky and Boo were around each day. My son loved hanging out with them. They were very affectionate. We spent a couple days just relaxing and didn't even leave. So very peaceful! Overall I just loved this place and likely will try to make my way back again.

Definitely a little confusing at first but was told they were still recovering from the hurricane. Even if it was confusing, it was perfect. Good views, active fish, going out on the lake/pond. Definitely going to come back if I'm back in the area. Would mark the campsites if it was me. If they were marked it would definitely help others.

This is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking to glamp right outside of atlanta. It was only a 15 min drive to decatur and 25 to atlanta. The host was very nice and communicative. We had everything we needed and I would recommend!

Weekend Trip to NW GA Farm Stay

Loved camping at this beautiful farm. Hosts were so welcoming. Campsite, Adirondack chairs, and fire pit were great. We purchased meat and 2 types of cheeses to enjoy. Were able to pet some of the sheep and goats. Would definitely stay here again.

4 nights at Andy & Ana's Cute Little Farm

Another incredible experience! Last year we visited Andy and Anna’s for a reset and this year more of the same. Last year we wish we had stayed longer and this year we did stay longer yet it still didn’t feel long enough. This is a special place where you can experience nature and all the things you love about camping but without the work. I personally love cooking outside and enjoyed doing that for most every meal. The fire pit is huge, cozy and inviting. The space is so well thought out and even on a rainy day it is bright and airy with plenty to do. I can go on and on but ultimately the care and hospitality that Andy and Anna give to the experience and property is rare which is why visiting their little farm will hopefully be a yearly thing for us (hopefully more)!

5 nights at Cabin and Barn on 20 Peaceful Acres

Incredibly beautiful campsite and literally everything you would ever need to have a great trip. Insane waterfall that you can hike to directly from the campsite and the host is super grateful to help you at any time or give suggestions for anything you would need. The land is not far from most major stores like walmart or publix which goes perfect with the large open air kitchen in the barn. There was also so much space in the cabin to fit people and a big plot just outside for those that want to pitch tents and hang hammocks. Would love to come back again soon and keep exploring the mountain, the scenery was endless.

We have a working farm with sweeping views of Lookout mountain and only 12 minutes from all the comforts of downtown Chattanooga. Our expansive 120-acre property provides campers with the freedom to choose their camping spots anywhere on the farm. Farm animals include horses, cattle, hogs, chickens, goats, bees, stocked ponds, gardens and much more. We have strategically placed signs throughout the property to help you identify potential neighbors. If you desire the company of ducks, consider setting up camp near our picturesque duck pond. For those who prefer the rustic crowing of roosters to a phone alarm, we have four chicken coops dispersed across the farm. Our horses freely roam the front pastures. The cows enjoy grazing on lush grass and taking refreshing dips in the ponds. They also relish watching the sunset from the hill's vantage point, as it offers the best view on the farm. We are a working farm with staff tending to various jobs throughout the day. We have a map to show some of the popular locations campers have enjoyed in the past, but it is first come first serve. We intentionally leave some of our fields uncut. In some fields, the grass can come up above the knees. If you are picky with the grass, these are pastures on a farm and we do not cut them. We leave that to the animals to take care of. All of our staff are super friendly and happy to help guide you to the best camping spot and answer any questions. In searching for your campsite please note that there may be livestock in and around certain areas as we rotate pastures. Please respect farm rules and do not camp in a pasture with cattle and do not enter any gated area without speaking to someone on the farm who knows which fields the cattle is in. Potable well water can be located from the blue spigot outside of the staff housing area, in between the orange and green tiny home, and outside the outdoor shower. Fire rings and chopped wood are ready for you to borrow and return by the outdoor shower area. Our outdoor shower is located by the yurts. If you are interested in a more posh experience, we have yurts and tiny homes for rent. We have a pool that is available to rent privately during your stay. Miners Cabin: The miners cabin is located in between Dawsonville and Dahlonega Georgia in the heart of gold country. This unexpected gem has been our family’s oasis for the past 7 years and now, we are opening it up to share with others. Access to the cabin will be via our driveway and guests will not be allowed to drive directly to the cabin. There is a short 3 minute walk from parking access to the cabin. This walk is on an incline and those who may have difficulties walking up or down an incline or on uneven surfaces should consider this walk when planning your trip. Due to access limitations, we ask that you not bring more than two vehicles, We have additional parking at another property if needed but please let us know in advance. The Cabin sits on a grassy meadow a stones throw from cane branch stream. In the morning and afternoon you should expect to see or hear all types of wildlife. We have a family of raccoons that come around in the summer months and will eat just 5 foot from the porch. In the winter we have several deer that access the creekbed. The wildlife is fed often by our family and has been for the past seven years. Hummingbirds, woodpeckers, whippoorwills, crows, and even goldfish call this oasis home. At night our kids love to hunt for small crawfish in the creek with a flashlight. While bears are always something to watch for, we don’t typically see them on the property. A few miles of walking paths have been meticulously cared for and created by my father Mike. The mossy stone paths look like something out of a story book in the spring. Along the trails you will find benches and hammocks to lounge on and if you look close enough you may find some crystals that were placed for others to find from some of our many mineral digs over the years. There are two bridges that cross the stream along the paths and an old water wheel from way back that was used in the gold mining process in the creek. Vegetation on the property includes a variety of chantrell and coral mushrooms. If Mushrooming is your thing we have a good stash of chicken of the woods and if it’s fruiting you are welcome to pick it. Mountain laurels line the creek and bloom beautiful pink blossoms in the spring and summer. Cane creek branch is a quiet and beautiful stream. The water only gets about waist high at the deepest point making it perfect for kids or dogs to splash around in. Inside the cabin you will find a few gold pans if you would like to try your luck. We have found gold in the creek along with garnets and a few flashes of platinum. This property used to be the site for a long abandoned gold mine and an old metal water wheel still sits on the creek bank. The water wheel is locked but will still turn and at over 8 ft high it is a sight to see in itself. You will find a few small fish but nothing to shake a pole at. The cabin itself is nothing fancy and we like to keep it that way. It is as primitive as you would expect from the title. Only one electrical outlet is currently in the cabin. There is no running water but there is a water basin for brushing your teeth and washing small items. The bathroom is behind the cabin in a separate facility. This outhouse is unlike anything you have seen and has all of the comforts of home. Sleeping arrangements include a king size bed on a solid frame and a small sofa. You are welcome to pitch a tent or hammock outside as well. In the winter the cabin gets cold, we will provide an electric heater but you should know that it may still get cold inside. The porch looks over the creek and makes a great spot for bird watching. Amenities include a charcoal grill and a fire pit for cooking. The fire pit has several stable adirondack chairs circling it. Things to do near us. Kayaking and tubing are just 7 miles down the road. You can rent a kayak from us or from the outfitters. We have 4 sit on top kayaks for adults 2 for children under 100 lbs and several whitewater kayaks are available for rent if you have prior experience. We also will guide you down the river as an additional service. See our price list. Our local outfitter Chestatee River Adventures is typically 30.00 for each kayak and 10.00 for tubing. The trip is 6 miles and can take anywhere from 3-5 hours depending on the water level. Please note that the outfitter is only open during the spring and summer. Our family will take you out no matter the time of year. Fishing on the Chestatee, Etowah, or lake lanier are also great activities and all can be accessed with a short 10 minute drive. Lake Zwerner is a local fishing hot spot great for grabbing a kayak or canoe and spending the day on the water. Gold Mining: Dahlonega is the gold city! Only 15 minutes away you will find Consolidated Gold Mine – Underground Gold Mine Tours. Here you can do some gold and gem mining as part of the tour. The gold museum in scenic dahlonega is close by as well.If you are looking for something more my dad offers trips and will show you the basics or can take you out for an all day dredging experience. You keep whatever you find! Hiking: The area hikes include the start of the great Appalachian (Apple-atch-an) trail. This is amicalola state park a 25 minute drive from the property.
