From the woods, waterfalls, and hiking trails of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in North Georgia to the beach-lined southeastern reaches of the state, Georgia is a great place for an RV getaway. The Georgia State Parks system has over 40 parks, many with RV campsites offering full hook-ups along with grills, picnic tables, laundry facilities, heated restrooms, and wifi. Private RV campgrounds and RV resorts also sit across the state, some with perks such as clubhouses, swimming pools, and cable TV. While you’ll find plenty of opportunities for kayaking, boating, and biking rentals in Georgia, the Peach State is also known for its historic sites, particularly in scenic Brunswick and Savannah as well as in the state’s biggest city: Atlanta. If you really want to go back in time, head to the Ocmulgee National Monument near Macon.
