1 night at Untouched Hawaiian Land

This camp site is amazing! Such stunning views and an ideal place for a sunrise and stargazing at night. The property is remote, peaceful and beautiful. The hosts met us and led to the property and gave us a full tour! This place is new but will do so well. Very close to Hana also which was really convenient.

Weekend Trip to Kaupo Na'au' Kamp

This first space wasn’t available, so the host offered us an alternative close to Paia, and it was a beautiful spot. There was shower, bathroom and kitchen available in the property and the area was very spacious. Communication was great and the host was always available and very helpful. 100% recommendable.

Weekend Trip to Untouched Hawaiian Land

This was hands down the most stunning and remote location possible for camping. The site itself was really large with several different areas. The coastline around was the most beautiful I’ve ever seen and the lack of light pollution meant the sky was totally captivating at night. The hosts were very responsive despite little signal in the area and met us to show us around the site. I would not even look anywhere else if I went to Maui again. This is hands down the best location in Hana.

Beautiful place, great host, awesome location. Ignore the Google's "'closed road" warnings when coming from Hana, it was a very nice and smooth ride. Highly recommended stay.

3 nights at Secluded Upcountry Maui Camping

I write this as I book this site for the third time on my Maui travels. Nina’s Hipcamp is not the cheapest on the island but I can say that the lavatory is clean and you have privacy. due to the acreage and fact that there is only one site on the property you don’t get too much noise aside from the birds and deer. You are close to a road but it isn’t traveled frequently, especially in the evenings. the host is kind and communicative, She does run a few programs on her property but they are all held around midday when I was still at the beach so it was never an issue for me.

We stayed here the night before we started out sea to summit hike (Kaupo Gap). Perfect location for staging, the trailhead is walking distance from camp! We enjoyed our time.

Weekend Trip to Secluded Upcountry Maui Camping

We booked a last minute reservation for one night in a minivan before heading to Haleakala National Park early next morning. The simple site was perfect for our needs - There was a porta potty and hose. Make sure to park near the concrete barn on the left. We arrived at night and mistakenly went down a steep driveway to the right and had trouble driving back up. Otherwise, the property is nice and easy to find!

I loved campervan camping here!! There was a beautiful sunset happening while I was freshening up in the outdoor shower. Very quiet and peaceful! It was just over an hour to the Haleakalā summit, so I was grateful for the extra sleep before heading to the sunrise!

I recommend staying in one of his cabanas unless you’re camping back by the kitchen. Incredible art on property . A must see if you’re in Kaupo. Beautiful views and lots of art. It was a perfect second night after one night in Hana. Guy was friendly and accommodating.

Guy was great. He changed our camp location due to wind to make our camping experience better. He invited us to a neighbors to watch the sunset. Camping was quiet and peaceful, Guy checked on us multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed, brought us bug spray and other mosquito repellent devices. I would camp here again.

The campground is located very centrally in Wailuku, yet surprisingly, it sits on a green field near many cafés, restaurants, and small shops. The view in the morning is incredible. There are also some farm animals on the property, which actually enhanced the camping experience for me. I never met the landlord in person, but he was honestly very helpful via messages. This place is in the middle of the island and is perfect for a night or two, whether you're sleeping in a car or a tent.

This farm has multiple spots to either rest in your vehicle or put up your tent. There is a porta potty that is cleaned weekly, a sink with county water for drinking and refilling water for your vacation and an outdoor shower to rinse off at. There is a fire pit area to BBQ and have some drinks to ens your Maui nights. This is a basic place to have as Basecamp while on your Maui Adventures. Feel free to ask, and I will assist in any way I can to make your stay special. This is not a typical commercial camping area. This is my Property that I am slowly turning into a garden/Farm. Currently i have ducks and chickens and starting planter beds. I also do work trade if you are looking to stay longer. The property is located on Maui island in the Kula district on the drier side of Haleakala. In days before western contact the area was heavily forested with native plants and trees and rainfall was abundant. The native Hawaiian grew bananas, taro and sweet potato. After Western contact businessmen mostly from the United States developed huge tracts of land for ranching and farming which cleared the native forests and destroyed the eco system from the mountain to the sea. Many of the Hawaiian people moved away nearer to the towns and immigrant Chinese laborers from the ranches and plantations moved in. The Chinese brought in the Wattle tree to plant for firewood as these trees grew very fast. These are the majority of the trees that you see today. As part of the Chinese immigration, the founder of modern China, Sun Yat Sen lived here for a time and planned his revolution to overthrow the last Chinese Dynasty. There is a park dedicated to him nearby.We have picnic tables a propane grill, a fire pit and a covered gazebo that is shared with 3 cabins This site is located at the 2800 ft altitude and the temperature at night can range from mid 50 to mid 60 degrees F. If you are planning to go to Haleakala, we are about 45 -60 minutes to the summit. We are also on the south side approach to Hana. There is a great restaurant for breakfast and lunch about 10 minutes away in Keokea town called Grandma's Coffee house.
