The land is rolling and dotted with flower beds, animals, and beautiful green grass that is mowed weekly. We are bordered by fields and a cemetery that dates back to the 1800's.We are neighbors with those who grow crops, raise beef cows, bison, and alpacas.2 blocks from our driveway is Blue River which offers fishing, kayaking, tubing, and canoeing (if you have your own equipment). Town is 2 minutes away, but there is not much there other than a convenience gas station, aTodd's Great Outdoor Bait Shop, and an engine repair shop. There are often festivals, open Music Jams and community events. "Civilization" is a 30 minute drive to find movies, grocery, shopping, and a public pool. The sky appears to be scattered with diamonds on a clear night and during season the fireflies light the trees up like twinkling lights at Christmas! Learn more about this land: We have an 18 acre mini farm, close to a small town and near a river. We have two small ponds that can be fished in during the early spring, wildlife, and birds to watch. There are 6 very nice areas for camp sites that allow for privacy and relaxation. Each site has a fire pit and table. We also have just put in a new out house and have a port-a-potty for our campers to use. We are 10 minutes from Interstate 70 and only 30 minutes from Indianapolis. If you are just passing through or arriving late, let us know and we will be happy to have a campfire started for you. Accommodations can be made for group camping! What to expect lodging at Mustang Sally's: Mustang Sally's offers glamping sites, primitive camping sites and small camper sites. In the future, the plan is to add RV sites and full service cabin sites. The most common question is "What is Glamping?" Well, glamping is glorified camping. Glamping has real beds and other comforts of home but in the camping setting. Non-Glamping sites are available for tents, pop-ups, trucks & van camping. Motorhomes are not allowed at this time. The goal is by end of summer to have tree height cleared in main driveway to allow clearance for RV/Motorhomes. Currently there are no shower facilities as of May 2024. Outhouses are available. Mustang is currently working on what will be called "Bath Row" with the plan of them being finished by July 1, 2024. Bath row will consist of 10 restroom units. Each unit will have it's own private toliet, shower and changing area. Camp Fires are allowed within the fire rings provided at each camp site. Please keep them under control and make sure they are totally out before leaving the camp site. Check in time is 3pm EST Check out is 11am EST. Quiet time is 10 PM to 7 AM Trash cans are located throughout the park. Please tie trash bags completely closed and put your trash completely in the trash container. If the first can is full, please find another container. Please do not place your trash on the ground. Possums and racoons are attracted to left out or disposed of food and while we think they are cute and wonderful animals, we don’t want you to find a surprise in the night of a visiting racoon at your site because of incorrectly disposed of trash! Feel free to bring your own bike. Riding bicycles on our main entrance road is prohibited for the safety of your children and our incoming guests. You are able to ride them everywhere else on the property, just not the main driveway. Cancelling your reservation on the day of or within 7 days prior to arrival will result in no refund. Cancelling your reservation 8 to 14 days prior to arrival, you will be refunded half of your total stay. Cancellations 15 or more days will receive a full refund minus a $15 processing fee. There will be no refunds after you have checked in, for inclement weather, failure to follow the Rules & Regulations, or disorderly conduct. River Camp Fort Wayne

Each site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a single large tent. Each site has its own fire ring and a small wooden table. There is wood on the ground you may use for firewood, and ample twigs etc on the ground for kindling (do not cut any trees or branches off trees). There is a covered firewood shed with dry firewood as well. There are maintained trails with river access for kayaks. There is a porta potty near the campsites with a handwashing station, that is open year round. There is a single bathroom with flush toilet and sink with running water that is a short walk away (open May-Oct depending on weather) There is an outdoor on-demand hot-water shower at bathroom, with a water hose available as well. On-demand hot water heaters provide hotter water at a low water pressure, and cooler water at full blast. Campsites are a short walk (100-200 feet) away from parking area (you cannot drive directly to or park at your campsite). Foster Park is a short bike ride away where you will find greenway trails that run throughout Fort Wayne (ride your bike to downtown!!) Home Sweet Home, tucked in the heart of agriculture and lake life, Angola is a wonderful small town in the north east corner of Indiana. Songdog Meadows is our little piece of joy, from morning swims in the pond, long walks with our retrievers and sunsets to take your breath away, it is truly and deeply a treasure we cherish. The property host a variety of apple trees, open grass land, and a large cluster of trees surrounding a 3/4 acre pond, while being surrounded by wood lots on three sides and open fields to the west. It is truly a peaceful haven in a rural country area. Learn more about this land:Hang your hammock or pitch a tent just outside our 3/4 acre pond. There are two basins with a channel and a peaceful tree filled grass area between. The pond is in the corner of the 10 acre lot where we live at the end of a dirt road with only a small amount of traffic. The camp site is walk in on mowed pathways, with the driveway and parking area less than 200 yards away. There is a security light so you will never be in complete darkness. A stone fire pit and picnic table sit just off shore of the swimming area of the pond. There are several wide mowed pathways surrounded by prairie grasses, shaded by large trees. The area can easily handle several tents, hammocks and small RVs. The area is rural farm land with a handful of houses on the short dirt road. But this property is surrounded by wood lots and open fields. Two neighbors houses are visible but separated by trees. Our house is visible from the pond and camping area.

We'd love to host you, your friends, and your pets on our 45 acres of woods and prairie! More about the location: 45 acres of combined farmland, prairie reserve, and forest--Pirate Woods is the perfect location for a getaway that still has nearby access to rural community amenities. This property is located 5 minutes from I-70 and 30-45 minutes from downtown Indianapolis. You can also access Knightstown via U.S. 40. Camp Areas: Pirate Woods campsites: are located in an 8 acre forest. There is a communal campfire ring with stocked woodpile for your use. Nearby are a few chairs for your use. You may create a fire ring at your own campsite if a fire ban is not in effect - but please be responsible. Sites 5 and 7 boast the best spots for hammock campers. Fauna: Pirate Woods is home to a variety of animals: great horned owls, deer, a mysterious grey wolf fox, chickens, pileated woodpeckers (and other varieties), finches, rose-breasted grosbeaks and more. Activities and Water: Feel free to walk, jog, or mountain bike the mowed paths. Bringing your own water is best. Though it's a short walk along the property to reach our back barn where there is a spigot available for your use (you may drink it from the tap, but purifying it recommended.) Town (Knightstown): A trip to town is only a 2 minute drive (or bike) away where you can grab Mexican or pub food at local restaurants when you don't feel like cooking over a fire. Additionally, the Blue River runs nearby and there is local access in town where you can rent kayaks. Other Town Highlights: 1. The Hoosier Gym (from the movie Hoosiers) 2. Deer and other wildlife frequent the area as well so don't be startled if you have a few visitors. Stretching down from the Great Lakes into the southern heartlands, Indiana borrows the best of both regions for a warm hug of southern hospitality bolstered by the outdoorsy spirit of the Midwest. Outdoor adventurers can climb the sand dunes along Lake Michigan, paddle the Ohio River, or trek through forested canyons, while a bonafide Indiana camping experience means fishing for your supper and toasting s’mores on the campfire. Where to go

North Indiana

Indiana’s most Instagram-worthy landscapes can be found at the state’s northeastern boundary. Sloping dunes and sandy beaches line the southern shore of Lake Michigan, and Indiana Dunes National Park has tent and RV camping right by the beach. Further east, industrial towns pepper the road to Amish Country, where you can check into a rustic log cabin in the woods or camp by the lake in Chain O’Lakes State Park.

Central Indiana

Indiana’s central plains are dotted with laidback market towns, cornfields, and lakes. Indianapolis pulls in crowds for its summer motorsports events, most notably the famous Indy 500, but campers can easily escape the city for nearby Mccormick’s Creek State Park or Morgan-Monroe State Forest. Just to the south, Brown County is home to Monroe Lake, the state’s largest lake, hemmed in by Yellowwood State Forest and Brown County State Park.

Southern Indiana

Hilly southern Indiana is blanketed with woodlands, most notably the forested trails and canyons of Hoosier National Forest. Come in fall to hike against a backdrop of foliage or canoe along Sugar Creek, one of the state’s top paddling destinations. Further south, the Ohio River Scenic Byway draws adventurers to hike, paddle, camp, and fish.
