Hidden Valley Fun Time Happy Camp!

Once the secret speakeasy after dark spot for local political big wigs this property has been transformed from swampland to hidden gem right on the edge of America's Hometown of Muncie, Indiana! Welcome to Narnia! Or Atlantis!? Or... The Property? The Hidden Valley? We just haven't committed to a name yet so it's a little bit of everything all rolled into one! 8 acres on the magical Ganges, er, White River makes for a fun time. You can expect a certain amount of privacy while still potentially making a new friend or two depending on the night. You will be nestled under some giant sycamores, cottonwoods, black walnuts, catulpas, and a mess of bush honeysuckle that is always being battled! We have 2-3 sites directly on the river and then scores throughout with trails, hills, and other interesting features. Multiple firepits though I CANNOT guarantee firewood. There is often plenty to collect or available on site but if you can bring your own that'd be safest bet! We are (somehow) located partially inside Muncie city limits right on the river. Yes you may occasionally hear some trains or even particularly loud cars while camping deep in the woods but this is the tradeoff for a one mile drive to bars, restaurants, and groceries! Best of both worlds. The Muncie Eagles, whose nest resides directly across the river from us, do not seem to mind! This location is also directly on two main bike trail routes and our trails are fun for low impact mountain biking! We also have a small armada of kayaks/canoes on site; IF arranged that option does exist for cost of transport! We have 2 porta potties on site as well and fresh water hose available at main house. The farm is located 15 minutes west of Indiana Universities Memorial Stadium. The property is nice and private. The farm adjoins the 75 acre Stranger Hills Organic farm, the oldest organic farm in Indiana. Our 1899 Farmhouse is the only residence on the entire farm. There is a 3000 acre farm to our south. The area is quiet and very private. The campsites are in a grassy walnut grove by a small creek that runs along the eastern border of the property. We have a white deer creek cabin tent on a platform there and 3 or 4 nice level campsites to the north. There is a shaded RV site at the top of a small hill with 30 amp service. We can accommodate a large RV on packed gravel with 50 amp service. the farm is located 15 minutes east of McCormicks Creek State Park. There is a composting toilet and an on demand hot shower in a small building adjacent to the campsites. There is a YMCA about five minutes East of the property. \\\

Camp with privacy on a chicken homestead nestled a quarter mile into the woods, with access to a 15-acre nature preserve featuring beautiful hiking trails that overlook the White River—a hidden gem unknown to most locals. Choose to camp in a highly frequented deer area by the driveway or walk back to the orchard. Each campsite is private, ensuring you won't have anyone camping right next to you. Sites accommodate from 3 to 7 tents, each with its unique charm and surrounded by ample firewood. Experience the natural habitat of foxes, deer, pileated woodpeckers, hawks, owls, and other woodland creatures. Depending on rainfall, a pond occasionally fills up, providing a great opportunity for catch-and-release frog and toad adventures! (Nets provided or use your hands like a pro) Meet our two domesticated squirrels, "Big" and "Little," who are always hungry and love pecans. Please be sweet to these two precious babies. They are the squirrels that don't run away from humans. Wake up to the delight of fresh eggs, straight from our homestead! (Inquire if interested) Water: Garden hoses are at each site filled with fresh water from our well cut deeply into limestone. Drinkable, but it has a little extra iron in it. Restroom: Porta potty on the Southside of the driveway across from the Pipeline Pole. The walk to Orchard Campsites is a 2-3 minute. - Feel free to pee in the woods like God intended Power: Electrical access available near house for charging and 15amp at each RV site. - Ruoff Music Center: 18 minutes (Northwest, so less traffic) - State Road 37: 6 minutes - Downtown Historic Noblesville: 5 minutes - Amenities: Grocery, shops, food, and drinks! - Bier Brewery: 9 minutes (great outdoor area) - Wolfies Restaurant: 6 minutes (on Morse Reservoir) - Forest Park: 3 minutes - Features: Playgrounds, sand volleyball, skate park, basketball, bocce ball, tennis courts - Schwartz's Bait & Tackle: 4 minutes

Celtic Glen is a working, 100 acre family farm of heritage breed livestock, nestled in an old limestone quarry on the banks of the White River, on one side, and Fall Creek, on another. Learn about regenerative farming with rare breeds on a farm tour, or mining and wetlands restoration on an ecological history tour. Pet and feed the livestock. Fish and bird-watch. Take a yoga class (at times with goats or bunnies) in the center of the stone henge. Have coffee with goats. Eat farm craft meats, eggs, prepared soups, casseroles, and baked goods, or hop into town for a bite. We are across the river from McCormick's Creek State Park (Indiana's first state park with miles of trails, a swimming pool, horseback riding, and lodge) and just two miles north of Spencer, a small town with an excellent brew pub, winery, cafe, and more. Just 12 miles north of the farm is Cataract Falls State Recreation Area. We are only 20 minutes from Bloomington and Indiana University; 45 minutes from Indianapolis Int'l Airport. This is a working farm with lots of livestock, electric fences, and working dogs, so please leave the farm animals alone unless someone from the farm is available and present. Dogs must be on a leash in the camping area. Given the above features of a working livestock farm, the quarry ruins, the operative railroad tracks, and the river (not suitable for swimming), children under the age of 18 must be attended by adults at all times. We have lots of on-farm food and supplies options, please contact us for a complete list and any requests. All sites have a private stone fire circle as well as access to a common grill, handwashing station, porta potty or septic outhouse, cold/solar water shower. Nearby fun and food: We have posted many events on our farm facebook page @celticglenllc and we are within 2-4 miles of lots of options: Many events happen on the Spencer town square (including Spencer Pride events); and at the Owen County Fairgrounds which are actually in town along the White River and hosts events such as the White River Poultry Show. Historic Tivoli Theatre with big-screen movies, classic concessions, and more just off the square Cinema 67 Drive-In (4miles) All About You Salon and Spa on the square offers massage among other nice things. Hilltop Family Restaurant (vintage style family restaurant less than 2 miles north off 231) Owen Valley Winery –good food as well (often free live music) Stable Studios music venue (12 miles from farm) Civilian Brewing Corps Brewpub (family friendly space, amazing food and beer and craft soda) Main Street Coffee and Kitchen –a gorgeous café with breakfast and lunch (including Bivi’s tamales) Millie McGee’s Gosport Diner –amazing comfort food in a charming super-small town just across the river (drive north on 231 then east in 67; 23 E Main St, Gosport; 8 miles from the farm) McCormick’s Creek State Park: Canyon Inn for dining, lots of trails, pool in the summer, horse stables Cataract Falls State Recreation Area just north off 231 –really lovely waterfall (13 miles) Green’s Bluff Nature Preserve (Nature Conservancy; 9 miles from farm) Other locally-owned eating: Babs supermarket and deli, Busy Bee Cafe, Papi Chulo’s Cantina, Jit’s Thai Bistro, Chambers Buffet on square, Grand’s Ice Cream, Sweet Valley Ice Cream. Of course, Bloomington is just 20 minutes away with lots to offer. Kayaking, hiking, bird watching, swimming and just relaxing! We hope we can be a quiet spot for your travels thru the midwest. We are 30 minutes from Indianapolis, 20 minutes to a gorgeous lake and mountain bike trail and Knightstown has several quaint shops and antique venues for you to enjoy! Please keep all animals on a leash or contained. We do live in the midst of cornfields and forest where racoons, opossums and our pets live. We have outdoor kitties Reginald is a big gray boy who will try to climb your leg if you stand still long enough! lol Abigail and Toby are our indoor dogs, but they do roam outside during the day. We also have 2 new to our farm rescued Great Pyreneese that are adjusting! They are in an enclosed pen behind our barn and should'nt cause you any trouble. You may hear them barking off and on as they adjust to their new surroundings. If you need anything please let us know :D We are always ready to make your stay as comfortable as we can!

Our secluded riparian area at the confluence of Sugar Creek and East Little Sugar has been operated by our family as a place of solitude, river fishing and canoeing for over 100 years*. 'Indians' camped here year-round before the Pioneers arrived. During the early-1800s, a stagecoach station on the Cincinnati-Indianapolis line was built upon the Indian village. (Yes, stagecoaches in Indiana - how even Easterners got around before railroads). During WWII our Camp provided RnR for soldiers, sailors and Army aviators stationed at the numerous bases and training facilities around Indianapolis and Central Indiana. It was our Granddad's Duty Station at age 60 and Grandma had to ran the canteen. 25 miles SE of Indianapolis, Crossroads of America, 90 mi from Cincy via I-74, and 100 from L'ville or 200 from Chicago via I-65/465. 4 miles off I-74 Exit 109 at Fairland Rd (Indiana Grand Casino); 8 miles from I-65 Exit 97 at Worthville Rd, Camp Restwood is readily available to travelers on I-74, I-65, I-70 or I-69. We are 30 minutes close for Indy 500 fans, NFL Colts, Triple A BB Indians, NBA Pacers, WNBA Fever (w/ Caitlin) or NCAA & Olympic fans!
