Brookville Lake is about 5 minutes away.
We have 25 acres with about 3 wooded
acres with over 100 sugar maple trees and about 20 acres of flat grass fields plenty of room to hike, just keep in mind we have one horse that is fenced in so please close gates back when you open them.
We mow trails for biking feel free to explore, if you run into a cornfield it's not our property.

Cabin and Tent Camping On The River

Pack your essentials and escape to the Little Miami River Valley's best kept secret. Our off-grid cabin and tent campsite is situated on 14 acres along the National and Scenic Little Miami River. Once here, you'll park near our farmhouse on the upper plateau and take a 4 minute hike over the creek, through the meadow, and into the woods. As you approach the cabin and campsite/s, the trail opens up to an acre of green space shaded by large Sycamore, Walnut, and other native trees. Take a dip in the river, enjoy people watching as canoeist pass, or take part by renting a canoe or kayak from Morgan's Outdoor Adventures just a mile up the road. The Little Miami Trail is also less than a mile down the road so bring your bike! Our composting outhouse is serviced between each stay, meaning it's emptied, sanitized, and like new for each new guest. There are two established campfire locations and a picnic table is provided along with several tiki torches.
There is plenty of room for tents if additional guests are joining. If interested in having tents provided and set up prior to arrival, see add ons. Add-ons available for additional purchase include bedding (cabin only), a propane grill, tent rental/setup, and firewood.
Please note, our cabin site and tent site are the same location. Once one site is booked (e.g. either the tent site or cabin), we'll blackout the dates for the other site option so that you are the only guest/group onsite on any given night.

Sweet Spot by Yellow Springs

The campsite is in an open meadow on our 5 acre property, next to the ruins of what was one of the oldest barns in the county (there are still some beautiful stone walls left). You will be surrounded by trees and the spot is completely private. Directly across the road from our property (a 5 minute walk) is the Little Miami Scenic Trail, the third longest paved trail in the US (amazing for biking). The unique village of Yellow Springs is only a 5 minute drive away with a great local grocery store and several cafes.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE BOOKING.
Notes: 1) For camper vans: we do allow camper vans (not RVs or trailers) but you will need to park at the entrance of the meadow where there is gravel. Recently a camper got stuck in the meadow due to rain/mud (which is why we do not allow RVs or trailers). 2) We are still building a compost toilet so the option on the property now is to dig a cat hole at least 6" deep. There is an open public toilet in Yellow Springs and several businesses with open bathrooms. 3) The campsite is right off of Route 68. You cannot see cars from the site but you can hear them. The amount of noise from cars is lower at night. 4) The meadow is ideal for tent camping, though it is NOT a built campsite so it is not perfectly level throughout.

An active "choose-n-cut" tree farm until 2019, we're letting most of our farm grow wild with some deciduous trees also. Relax on the bench on the old country store porch or by the fire ring, fish, or stretch your legs and walk the dog. Cabin and Company (RV/Campers only)

Our beautiful 1800’s cabin was moved to the property in the 1970’s by a former neighbor who owned the property at the time. The same neighbor also had a historic train depot moved to the property where she sold antiques out of for several years. It is not sure what the cabin was used for at that time but it certainly added charm to the antique store property. When we acquired the property years later, the cabin was in need of work. It sat for a few years until we decided to restore this lovely cabin back to it’s beautiful charm and character. Jim spent a couple years on the project working in his free time and added the porch using old wood in keeping with the natural look and feel of the cabin as well as some interior areas. Upon completion, we opened the cabin as a gift shop selling unique items including antiques, primitives and decor for a few years. We decided to transition the cabin into a place of retreat for traveling guests and still keep some of the goods we sold in the shop available for purchase. We hope that you find the cabin and property a place of peace and tranquility and will want to return. Whether passing through for a night or a few days stay, you’re always welcome in our neck of the woods.

Make a stop back in time to our quiet woodland retreat with an updated 1800’s log cabin nestled on the property. At Cabin and Company, you will be parked beside this beautiful cabin and will be allowed access at your leisure for a place to sit and relax. (No overnight sleeping allowed inside) Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea (provided) while watching tv or on our covered porch outside. You may also select a movie or two from our large selection of DVDs or find a book to read among our stash of books. Play cards, engage in one of the other games provided, or just sit in the quiet of it all and rest your mind. There is a golf chipping area as well as basketball. We have WIFI at our residence on the adjacent property and some areas of the camp will pick it up better than others. There is a fire ring on site with an adjustable grate for cooking and plenty of seasoned firewood available.. We will have a few items available for purchase inside the cabin including local honey (when available) apple butter, coffee, hand crafted walking sticks and you won’t want to leave without some of these goodies. This semi secluded property is a gem and we hope you will enjoy this piece of history as much as we do. You may see wildlife such as whitetail deer and of course, there are plenty of birds and squirrels around. The shops, restaurants, and outdoor activities of Yellow Springs are a little over a mile and a half from the campsite. It does have distance from other campers, with woods behind the tiny house.

The Rusty Fig Tiny House is your tiny getaway, with everything you need to be at home.
There is a queen size bed in the loft only accessible by ladder. The sofa does fold out as an additional bed (which can fit one adult or 2 small children).
The tiny house has a flushable toilet and working shower (hot water lasts about 5 continuous minutes and regenerates about every 30 minutes.)
Connect to nature and sit outside by the fire pit, though you must supply your own firewood. All the fixings for smores are provided for 2 guests on the first night, plus complimentary hot beverages throughout your stay. Enjoy your dinner outside or play a game on the picnic table provided.
There is no WIFI anywhere on top of the mountain, so you will have to talk to each other! Hotspots work and coffee shops are 15 minutes away.
In winter, skiing is a short walk (~250 feet). Ski in, ski out for great convenience!

Stop between Cincinnati and Columbus, where you’ll find miles of state parks that define Dayton, OH camping. Start your next Dayton camping trip with a visit to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, located in Riverside. Closer to central Dayton, you’ll find art museums, mini-golf courses, and Carillon Historical Park, which the whole family can enjoy. Caesar Creek State Park
