You may want to stay at the land everyday, but if not, there is also the option of Hiking in the many public wild conservation, and wild preserve lands in the nearby area. There are also many Historical locations and other natural features, to visit in surrounding areas, and there is a historical society in town. Another option is day or half day trips. World famous Acadia National Park makes for a wonderful day trip. West Quoddy Head Lighthouse in Lubec, is another fine example and a great place to see. If you like to make little side trips, make a plan, as there is a seemingly endless amount of worthy visits within a drive from the property. There is a supermarket, hardware, lumberyard, and marine supply stores in town for supplies, gasoline, diesel, propane, and other necessities. Eating out options are possible as well. There are some options right in town, but more options a short drive to other neighboring areas. You will need to acknowledge, and agree to the rental agreement / liability waiver / Rules before you will be allowed to stay at Searenity. This information is available in the RULES section of the booking and site details. By requesting to book, or booking, or staying at Searenity, You automatically acknowledge and agree to all of the terms listed. Searenity is off-grid private land, with no lighting, with gravel access roads only. The access during dark hours, is difficult for new arrivals, we REQUIRE THAT GUESTS ARRIVE DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS ONLY. We have a working farm and DO NOT have Cell phones. We are near the computer or our LAND LINE phone, maybe a few times a day. PARKING IS BESIDE THE TENT SITES AT GOOSE PARADISE, FROG NOOK, RABBIT RUN, and DUCK HILL. SHORT HIKES INTO THE WOODS: BEAR HOLLOW AND SQUIRREL HIDEAWAY. BOBCAT ISLAND IS A SHORT HIKE ACROSS A BRIDGE. (These three locations would require you to carry your camping gear to the site). This is a working, solar powered homestead, totally off-grid with chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys. Available to you is fresh eggs, greenhouse vegetables and garden vegetables that you pick yourself to enjoy while you are here. There is an Artesian spring-fed 2 acre pond for fishing (catch and release only). Semi secluded tent sites are not very far from an outhouse furnished with flush toilet and a sink with fresh running water. All tent sites have a fire pit and a picnic table. Enjoy hiking trails or forge off into the woods to explore on this beautiful 25 acre homestead. Sit and relax by the pond while watching for beavers, raccoons, blue heron and even eagles! Listen to the babbling of the Artisian spring where the ice cold water is pumped to the homestead by solar power. Blueberries, wild strawberries and blackberries are fun to look for and eat. Enjoy the cool nights while star gazing, watching fireflies and listening to the frogs and owls. Watch the operation of a working sawmill, learn to tie flies and how to fly fish. In the future there will be blacksmithing demos and classes, art (painting) classes and nature photography classes. There will be a nominal fee for classes. Your reservation request will not be accepted until we have those responses so including that with your reservation request is what we need to know. Several of us live/work/answer messages here. Clarity with your request is beneficial. Our camping section is located on the property of Kisma Preserve. Home to black bear, local mammals , and our favorite, wolves. Most of the staff live here full time all year. The sounds of the night are magical. Unleash your imagination and camp here away from the crowds you may find within the local Acadia National Park area which begins about 5 minutes away at Thompson’s Island and the bridge to Mt Desert Island. We are close to basic necessities, and a step away from the masses. We do educational tours daily and if interested these tours are arranged by reservation too. We may allow camping in Winter months but if it is between November and May it is very important to call and find out the accessibility as weather impacts everything. The shower will likely be unavailable in freezing months and some sites are closed. CALL and speak with a staff member before reserving. Self contained Adventure Vans and tent campers with Winter Gear and Rooftop Tents can be accommodated. Or If you want to have a solid roof , screens and a fabulous view ask about reserving our Cadillac Mountain View Loft or if the idea of being naked under the stars is appealing opt for our Raw and Rough site.! Pulling in late, and leaving early for a typical Sunrise reservation.? We can also accommodate that if we know that is all you want. Traveling with your horse.? Talk to us about an Equine site. The Biker’s Bunkhouse is ideal for motorcycle travelers as it shelters both the guest and the Bike/s. Our camp is located on a quaint pristine, offshore Maine island. We are an easy 1 mile walk from the ferry landing once you arrive. NEW! We just added a shared use golf cart for our guests to get to and from camp! Great Cranberry Island is a beautiful peaceful place where the pace of life slows, nature abounds and the stars are bright. There is a small well stocked general store. NOTE: currently being rebuilt after a disastrous fire. (due to open fall 2023), a museum, cafe and miles of pristine trails and rocky beaches to explore. Bicycles can be brought on the passenger ferries and are a great way to get around and further explore the island. Our camp is on the site of our former organic farm called Cabin Creek Farm overlooking the ocean (a tidal estuary called the pool), where we grew flowers, herbs and veggies. You can even kayak directly to us at high tide. The sites are a combo of a mixed manicured deciduous and conifer forest and open spaces with ocean views. Blueberry Land Tent Platforms

We have four raised platforms, accessible by car, each with a canvas-covered A-frame, and each with a canvas/sawdust queen size futon bed in it. Each platform is nested in their own private setting around the edges of our 12-acre organic blueberry barren. All four platforms are fully screened-in, with stylish canvas-covered timberframes and circular red doors. These canvas tents are bug-proof and waterproof; you do not need to bring a tent! Blueberry Land is part of Smithereen Farm. Surrounded by woodlands, the 12-acre barrens is on Youngs Cove Road, near Reversing Falls. This is an off grid, rustic site with only a port-a-potty. If you need to use any other amenities, you are welcome to use the WIFI, fill your water bottles, charge your electric vehicle and buy supplies at the Smithereen Farm Store (12 Little Falls Road, Pembroke). That's also where you can jump into the Pennamaquan River to cool off after exploring the town by bike. Note: there is no potable water at the site, you will need to bring a vessel and fill up in town. There are beautiful walking, biking and canoeing opportunities in every direction—check out Cobscook Shores, Downeast Coastal Conservancy trail by Reversing falls, Maine Coast Heritage trails on the bold coast and at Sipps Bay. Blueberry bushes are low, native, fruit-growing, covered in flowers in spring and then berries in summer, turning bright bright red in the fall when kissed by frost. Our blueberries are certified organic by MOFGA and surrounded by birch, fir, spruce and flowering perennial beds to improve insect habitat. Please DO NOT DRIVE ON THE BERRIES! Park in the parking lot, three sites are immediately visible, the fourth site is a further drive down the road, past the port-o-potty, in the back field, to the left. Low hung vehicles beware! If in doubt park in the parking lot. Upon booking, we will send you a PDF welcome packet filled with helpful information about the farm, local sites to see, and a comprehensive list of our recommendations. Remember to prepare for MOSQUITOES in summer! We really recommend you approach Washington County as an opportunity to picnic, so bring a pocketknife, a frying pan, a big cooler for butter and milk, a big water jug, a thermos, a camp stove/kettle, warm socks, and a sense of adventure! We wish you a pleasant stay all the way DOWNEAST!

Walk through the large open field, away from everything, to this storybook setting. All you can hear is the waters of the brook rushing and sounds of nature all around. Graham Lake is just a stone's throw away. Great for kayaking, fishing, and swimming. This magical place is just beyond our farm where we you can buy fresh chicken and duck eggs daily at the house. In the cabin, upstairs, a lofted queen bed accessed by a sturdy wooden ladder. Downstairs, a wood stove with dining area, and living space with full sized convertible bed. No electricity, no plumbing, no wifi. Good cell service. Composting toilet and water tank for use inside cabin. Gas grill and firepit with tripod grate outside for cooking options. Two large picnic tables for outdoor dining. Truly a magical place. The campsites and secluded 2 bell tent sites are hidden away along Webb Brook, sitting among the pines and hardwoods. A port-a-potty available for all guests' use. Almost 9 acres of land to explore and discover, as well as Graham Lake just a walk away.

Ellie's RV spot

This spot has been in the family since 1935. Apple trees and wildlife abound year round. Ellie's RV Spot is a single RV site designed for use by all Class A thru C motorized or towable style recreational vehicles including conversion vans or off grid vehicles. 50 or 30 amp electric, water, sewer and wifi are provided. Established in 2019. A sister cabin shares the one acre site and is separated by a 16 foot long 9 foot high fence. Well Behaved dogs/pets are allowed on the site for $7 per pet per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add pet fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process. Should you choose to book this site and use a vehicle that doesn't have a shower and toilet on board, you will not have access to a bathroom on site.You must provide your own porta potty. The RV's pictured belong to past guests and are not available for rent. Ellie's is located to allow easy access to both the Mount Desert Island section of Acadia and the Schoodic Peninsula section. All rigs including off grid and pop-ups, please set up on GRAVEL PAD only. Stay off grass area to prevent damage to the private septic system. **Tenting is not an option on this site, sorry.** Campfires are allowed on this site when winds are under 10 mph. Check local weather first. We continue to provide free, locally grown, organic firewood in order to combat inflation and help you stretch your vacation dollar. While Ellie's doesn't have direct water access, there are many shoreline points of access close by. Beaches and water access are everywhere. Wide open space does exist. Come explore the Maine coast. Commuter traffic can be seen and heard from Ellie's RV spot. In 2019 over 3.5 million people visited the Acadia area. 2023 has been jammed with visitors, more than ever before, be patient. 2024 update: You can purchase your park pass online and print it before you arrive. Reservations for Cadillac Mtn are now required due to overcrowding. We have one security camera located on the main fence. This is for your protection as well as ours. Unit is powered 24/7 For winter RVing, please send a request before booking. We have 30 or 50 amp electric and sewer only from Nov 1 ~April 30. Water, wifi and trash removal are suspended for the winter. Snow might prevent access during some weeks, others it will not. Request first please. Questions? Please ask I'm very responsive.

Eagle View Coastal Campground

Come relax on this private 5 acre waterfront escape. A long driveway will open up into a cleared lot. The end of the driveway is a large crushed gravel parking pad which should easily accommodate any RV or trailer (make sure you back in, there's no room to turn around). The pad is mostly flat, but minor leveling on RV's is probably still needed. Site overlooks Flanders Bay which feeds into Mount Desert Narrows. Watch the family of 5 eagles fly back and forth across the cove and bring binoculars to watch them as they perch in nearby trees. The cove is filled with a variety of seabirds and the occasional harbor seal. You will have complete quiet as you listen to the sounds of forest and coastal life.Property is located 11 miles from Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia National park and a quick 35 miles from Bar Harbor. From May through mid November, site includes access to a HOT outdoor shower, well water, a working sink with hot water. Water is turned off after November 15th until late spring, weather dependent. NEW THIS YEAR- we have installed a 50/30 AMP hookup for trailers/RV's - we do charge $15 extra per night for hookups, please coordinate with us at time of booking if you will need power for your camper - There is an electric outlet for small electronics like laptops/phones/coffee pot, site includes a campfire area, lots of open spaces to pitch a tent, and an outhouse.
