Set up a base camp in Sheridan before exploring the Black Hills of Wyoming and Devil’s Tower.
Camp in some of Wyoming’s most stunning wilderness on a trip to Sheridan, a halfway point between Yellowstone National Park and Mount Rushmore. Sheridan RV parks and campsites on the banks of Goose and Little Goose Creeks provide 30- and 50-amp hookups, bathrooms, showers, and access to Kendrick Park. Drive out to Bighorn National Forest for creek kayaking, mountain biking, and birdwatching in the Bighorn Mountains. Pitch a tent at public campgrounds near Jaws Trailhead for meadow hikes and cliffside views. Non-electric tent camping and RV sites inside the forest also include picnic tables, firepits, and vault toilets. Next, head east to Devil’s Tower National Monument, the first designated national monument in the United States, before entering Black Hills National Forest, home of Mount Rushmore National Monument. Check in at on-site public camping spots and RV sites that come with fire rings, barbecue grills, and running water. For something new, reserve a cabin rental or glamping tent, just four miles from the monument, with firepits, s’mores, and nature walks.
