Private 4 Season Yurt Close to Town

1 site · Lodging3 acres · Montpelier, VT
Our clean, spacious yurt is a unique retreat that guests love in any season. Perfect for the outdoor enthusiast, we are in the country yet just ten minutes to Montpelier and the interstate. Aa beautiful stop on picturesque country roads, and just a short drive to hundreds of miles of trails. Nearby historic sites, boutique shops, and delicious restaurants make your time in Vermont memorable. We are booked nearly year-round: snag your spot now. The yurt is nestled in a private space with fields and forests out the door. If privacy is what you are seeking, look no further. Our house is on the property, but you have your own path to get to the yurt, and cannot see our house. Enjoy morning coffee on the Aidrondack glider, get a good night's rest in a queen-sized bed with beautiful linens, or relax in the loveseat by a crakcling fire. A microwave, electric kettle, coffeemaker, and small fridge/freezer make it easy to prep a meal and heat up leftovers. People love the break from cooking. You are also welcome to use a campstove outside in a covered area with a table. We provide potable drinking water, as well as fair-trade coffee and tea. Inside the yurt there is a handwash station. The yurt does not have indoor plumbing. Guests use a beautiful composting toilet just steps from the yurt, constructed in 2022 and during the warmer months an outdoor sink with potable water. East Montpelier is home to nearly 15 miles of walking trails through rolling farmland and forest. Camel's Hump, Mount Hunger and Mt. Mansfield are all within a half 45 minute drive. The local parks department maintains lovely ski trails with panoramic views, and nearby ponds offer wonderful spots for swimming and boating. If you love life on two wheels, treat yourself to the miles of dirt roads and nearby mountain biking trails. I'm an avid outdoorswoman and will happily point you and your adventurous spirit to the best spots in the area! In addition to being close to several state parks (Little River, Groton, Camel's Hump and Mount Mansfield), East Montpelier hosts a dozen miles of walking trails through woods and fields. Montpelier maintains miles of trails behind the state capitol, along the North Branch River and in fields and forests just minutes away. Part of the charm of a yurt is that you are close to nature. Plenty of natural light pours in, you can hear the birds, and enjoy rustling of leaves. In the spring and fall, evenings can be cool, so you may want to make a small fire in the woodstove to take off the chill. In the winter, we start the fire for you so it's warm when you arrive, and give you clear directions on how to keep the fire going throughout your stay. There is plenty of wood for your use.

Cozy Yurt At Wild Earth Farm

1 site · Lodging143 acres · Randolph Center, VT
Welcome to glamping, aka glorified camping. The yurt is a wonderful and very fancy tent. It's for adventurous spirits who like a little comfort. **The yurt is self-serve. We want to provide an affordable and special experience and have the below guidelines:** 1. Bring your own Queen sheets. A duvet is provided 2. Bring your own towels 3. If you leave dirty dishes, a mess, or don't give the place a quick vacuum, you'll be charged a $30 cleaning fee. Come live the simple life in Vermont at Wild Earth Farm. But with a hot shower and a memory foam mattress. Our 14 foot yurt is a tiny oasis from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Your door looks out over the edge of one of our pastures where you might see our organic cow herd or Icelandic sheep flock grazing. Soak in the sunset from the fire pit and watch the sky come alive with stars. The Wild Earth Yurt is 14 feet in diameter and offers a queen sized memory foam mattress, two cozy chairs, and a bench to place your things. There is one spare outlet for charging electronics. Location: 1. Two miles of Rt 89 2. 9 mins to Randolph with restaurants, cafes, and shops 3. 30 min to Montpelier, 1 hour to Burlington, 45 min to Woodstock 4. 23 min to our favorite restaurant of all time, Worthy Burger! Things to Do in the Area: 1. Our town of Randolph (9 min away) is a hidden gem with cute shops, cafes, and restaurants. Catch a movie at our adorable one-room movie theater. Real butter on the popcorn! 2. Take a class at White River Art Center 3. Get a maple creemee at Silloway Maple (1 mile away!) 4. Jump on the trail system at the back of our farm for a nice hike, snowshoe, or ski 5. Head to Montpelier for the best thai food in the world, or our favorite sourdough pizza. The heating is electric and keeps the yurt quite warm down to about 10 degrees outside. We recommend bringing a nice wool sweater if you run on the cold side. The kitchen/bath house, about 40 steps from the yurt features a composting toilet, shower, sink, coffee maker, microwave, and fridge. BYO towels for the shower. The view from the fire pit is one of our very favorites on the farm. This is a fantastic place to use as base camp for adventures or to just come and fully relax for a few days. Please Note: Due to the nature of our farm and the animals working on it, we are not able to host any animals including service animals. This is to keep our animals (and yours!) safe and happy. Thank you for understanding! Guest access Guests have full access to the yurt. It is a couple hundred feet away from the back of the farm house which is also rented out on Airbnb. The door to the yurt of located on the opposite side of the house so there is plenty of privacy. 45 minute farm tour available for $60.
