Weekend Trip to Apple Cove Farm

We love the artsy bunkhouse ; Rob is such a talented artist! He has carefully filled the bunkhouse with his many artistic pleasures. We loved all his paintings of the birds and nature scenes. We have stayed here 4 times now and every time the hosts go above and beyond with their amenities. There’s also a great nature preserve nearby which is great for dog walking and perfect for grounding. Gourdlandia is also near by so be sure to check that out. Rob is so kind and puts thought and detail into everything. This is our go to place to stay when in Ithaca. We will continue to stay here. Always comfortable and cozy. The bunkhouse is incredible.

The campsite was great. It was very remote and quiet, no road noise, and we could hear the peepers all night. James was a great host and gave us our space while letting us know he was available if we needed anything. He also showed my son some deer antler sheddings in the morning and gave him a turkey feather he found! We only stayed for 1 night, but it was a perfect place to stay.

Weekend Trip to Little Birds Farm

What a magical place. We decided to book a trip for our son’s 5th birthday and the site was everything a little boy dreams of. From the bunk beds with true tree limbs to the hidden beds above the kitchen area- it was perfect! It is certainly thought out and a lot of love was put into the building process. Jeremy was great with supplying firewood and amble cooking equipment which made it easy to not have to leave for anything extra one may need. Highly recommend paying a visit!

So, the place is BEYOND beautiful I mean just breath taking so spacious and relaxing me and my friends had a beautiful relaxing time and really enjoyed our stay the only reason i would question staying again if i have to leave an honest review would be the fact that this property has tenants below its made clear with signs in the house not to be loud due to prior complaints and in the description when booking but when paying $400 a night and driving 2-3 hours depending where you are from for a get away then you want to enjoy your weekend and not have to tip toe around also this place is huge and can easily accommodate 10 people but i think max is 4 due to that reason possibly? Seems like a waste of such a beautiful huge space essentially. Otherwise i mean its very nice place clean and well kept.

3 nights at Waterfall Creek

Can't recommend this spot enough. Beautiful waterfall, super quiet and peaceful. It's super close to Watkins glen but it feels like it's hundreds of miles away from civilization when you're there. Ken is super professional too! Very attentive and available but gave us plenty of space to hang out amongst ourselves. I can't wait to come back.

Weekend Trip to Steady Slope Fields and Forest

Our stay at Steady Slope was great! The field was lovely with a big beautiful fire-pit and plenty of wood (which we would have been happy to use if it wasn’t raining). There was a comode and a sink, which were both very convenient. The BEST part of the stay were the adorable doggies and cat who live on the property. They were so sweet and we had so much fun giving them lots of love. Communication with Amanda was very easy and warm. Thanks for having us!

We absoultey loved camping at Ken's property. The grounds are excelent and the waterfalls and creek are majestic! The campground is right near the center of town so nothing is ever too far away. Ken is a great host. Hands off but available to answer all of your questions and ready to help with whatever problems you may have. This place is defintely a 10 out of 10!

Such a great place! It has a perfect balance between camping and glamping. The Orchard tiny house was perfect for us (family of four), pretty secluded and private and beautifully located in the middle of the woods. It has a nice mattres, a table with benches and board games to enjoy. The fire pit and the picnic table are also very useful. We brought our own sleeping bags and blankets for the night, and meat for dinner and had a great time

Weekend Trip to Red House Ranch Camp

Robert was a fantastic host, the cabin is perfect and cozy, the land has so many trails to walk, and it's only about 5-10 minutes from anything in Ithaca. Will be returning :)

My kids and I had a great stay at Red House Ranch Camp. Ike and Dave were great hosts. The views were awesome, our walks were beautiful, and the overnight was super peaceful. We can’t wait to head back!

Weekend Trip to Majestic Farm & Organic Orchard

Incredibly beautiful farm in a charming part of the Catskills, just a couple hours outside NYC. The cabins are really nice and tastefully set up and the kitchen and outhouse worked for our purposes. We were a large group and rented all four cabins on an extremely cold weekend in February. We expected it to be cold and it was (there's no heating in the cabins), but we were prepared with warm clothes and good gear. The place was snowed over and it was too icy to drive onto the property, and there wasn't running water due to the freezing temperatures, but the hosts were communicative ahead of time about all of this, responsive to questions, and very helpful. We were delighted to encounter peacocks and a bunch of hogs roaming around. Some of the hosts' dogs were unfriendly at times, which was a little unnerving.

Nice cozy cabin and a great getaway spot not too far away from the city. Will definitely go back when it gets warmer :)

Mountain Bliss

Discover a magical setting close to everything in the Catskills. This solo campsite is tucked into a private meadow pocket, bordered by a tumbling creek, woods, and my horse's favorite pasture, with views of the surrounding hillsides and the river valley leading to the Delaware River at Callicoon. Your accommodation includes a canvas tent on a platform with a queen-size air-mattress bed, a wood-burning stove, and two Adirondack chairs. A pop-up tent, that sleeps up to 6 persons, is available. We provide a large blanket and pillows with cases, but not sheets. Outside, there's a fire pit and a picnic table with benches. We supply fire-starters (kindling, newspaper, matches), but not firewood (available for purchase at a nearby market). Potable water is available in containers that are refilled upon request. The toilet is rustic. Our farm is home to herds of White-Tailed Deer, Wild Turkeys, Painted Turtles, Red-Tail Hawks, my Off-The-Track Thoroughbred horse, chickens, ducks, and Aslan, my Cocker Spaniel. Birdsong, frog song, the babbling creek, and the thundering hooves of Deva will serenade you to sleep. During your stay, you're welcome to hike, swim, and fish in the pond. Boating and fishing opportunities abound nearby, in the Delaware River or the famous fly-fishing creeks. Bethel Woods is a mere 20 minutes away. Other nearby activities include Farmers' Markets, breweries, farm-to-table restaurants, antique dealers, flea markets, art galleries, an Alpaca farm, golfing, horseback riding, and exploring numerous hiking trails. Fresh organic eggs from my free-range chickens are available for $5 per dozen.

Only a quick drive to Tannersville, Hunter, Windham, Palenville, Woodstock, Phoenicia, Catskill and Saugerties where you can explore the cute town, restaurants, and shops. The site is perched on the banks of the Roaring Kill Stream, perfect for swimming and fishing. There are also lots of flat areas to put additional tents. Great access to the Roaring Kill Trailhead and to the Devil's Path Hiking Trail. If you're looking for some water activities take a short drive to Tinker Town Tube Rental located in Phoenicia, where you will also find a popular local spot, the Phoenicia Diner. Site guidelines Do be careful driving on the dirt jeep track out to the camp. Don't miss swimming in the Roaring Kill Falls. Do leave the campsite just as you found it. "Don't feed the bears." Enjoy natural camping 100 ft above sea level in the Catskill Mountains 2.5 hours from NYC in our fabulous Stargazer! The Stargazer is one of 3 campsites on our property. Its a 10 foot x 14 foot structure with back elevated deck. Dozens of windows make it feel like you're camping outside, but you're protected from rain, wind and any uninvited animals. Enjoy basic speed unlimited wi-fi and the vented propane wall heater. For the true glamping experience use the luxury queen sized memory foam mattress. We DO provide pillows, pillow cases and mattress fitted sheet but recommend you to bring sleeping bags or warm blankets (and your own towles) Located in a large grass field met with a wall of great maples that surround you. During clear evenings gaze upon the astonishing display of night stars and Milky Way. We are located on an isolated dirt road and surrounded by 1000's of acres of farm land and state parks. It is a 30 minute car drive to Windham Ski resort. Kaaterskill Falls is 55 minutes and Howe Caverns just over an hour. Many State parks are within a 45 minute drive. During your walks along the dirt road you'll see majestic red barns and ponds along the way, also great for mountain biking. Sacred Waterfall & Quiet Camping

NOTE: THIS IS A QUIET CAMPING AREA for reconnecting with nature. Not suitable for parties or loud groups. For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty and power. It is considered a sacred site that has been central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka, also known as the Mohawks, the original inhabitants of the Schoharie Valley. Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, Kahonrakén:ra Waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into a hidden pool, which then empties again into the river, running into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. The effect is transporting. Truly, it is one of those extraordinarily beautiful spots on earth that makes you feel like you are in another world. There are two tiny cabins on the property. They are both accessed by separate footpaths through the forest, below an old red barn, surrounded by ash and walnut trees, singing birds, deer, wildflowers, and wild medicines. One cabin is in the forest, just beyond a grass circle clearing. The other is down the hill through a wildflower grove. Both sites have extra space to set up a tent if needed. The Forest Cabin is insulated with hemp, has electric lights and outlets, is bigger inside with a work desk, has Anderson crank out windows, has a bigger deck, and has two twin mattresses under the bed if you need them. The Wildflower Cabin is a bit deeper in the forest, a little smaller, uninsulated with two walls of old-school wood-pane windows that open out to the forest completely, one twin mattress under the bed and a powerstrip for light electric use. Both sites have private fire pits, solar shower stalls, fans for cooling and an oil filled electric heater for chilly nights. We do not allow partying. There is a profound healing process happening at the waterfall. At the request of the original caretakers, we ask that you to respect the sacredness of this land. Thank you! It's about a 10 minute hike down the gorge to the waterfall from the campsites. Each campsite has a private path down to the waterfall, where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire at your fire pit and fall asleep under the stars listening to the waterfall and the river below. Be aware that the hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls. Please be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and to keep noise down after 10pm so that your camping and local neighbors can chillax and enjoy the evening sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside that makes Schoharie so special. In the big red barn at the entrance to the campsites there is a community room with a charging station, cold water sink, mini fridge, coffee maker, grills, and a port-a-potty for your use. There are also 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water. :) This is a leave no trace campsite. Please take all your trash with you when you leave. And please bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty! Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log. Instructions for payment are in the community room next to the red silo at the barn. The wood is stacked at next to the red shed just uphill from the barn. You can also buy your own fire wood en route. We recommend that you buy kindling at the gas station on your way in. The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms with fresh produce and organic meat within 5 miles of the house. There are several farm stands and a general store a few miles away, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, and the Sap Bush Country Store and Café just up the hill in West Fulton. Mustang Valley, a wild mustang sanctuary and rescue center, is just down the road. Nearby hikes include Looking Glass Pond and Vroman's Nose, among many others.

Magic Forest Farm

**Please confirm you have read our property description and rules before booking** Our slice of paradise consists of 225 acres of forested land nestled in the foothills of the Catskills near Albany. We are a homestead and small campground devoted to the principles of organic farming and self-reliance. Modern agriculture and big business are unsustainable, destroying farmland at an accelerating pace. It is important for us to teach the next generation, there is an alternative. We produce much of our own food. We have friendly goats, chickens, ducks, peacocks, donkeys and horses the guests can pet and feed. There are no swimming holes on our property, but many waterfalls and swimming spots within a short drive (see list below). A quick 5 minute drive will get you to one of the best disc golf courses in the north east. For the truly adventurous, Clarksville Cave is a short drive away. Visit their website for list of proper gear and rules. We do rent some of the equipment needed. Little Birds Farm

This campsite is nestled in the deep woods of a 120 acre farm that offers beautiful views coming and going. After being allowed to use the restroom at the stone farmhouse, you will then go rustic and start your 3/4 - 1 mile hike in (approximately 20 minutes to the campsite) past the fields and pond down the path into the woods. The trail is remote and you will instantly be able to leave the sights and sounds of civilization behind you and breath the clean forest air. Wear good hiking shoes because portions of the hike are uneven and rocky. This site is best for experienced campers who know how to pack light with just the essentials as there is no tractor service to this campsite. When you arrive at the campsite, you will be within 20 feet of a year round stream with brook trout and in a hundred foot tall hemlock canopy nestled between two brook meadows. A 9,000 acre forested preserve abuts our property so you will be able to completely relax, bird watch, enjoy the wildlife, or fish for a brook trout breakfast without hearing the sounds of anyone but yourselves. The campsite has a stone fire pit, split log benches for seating, a canvas privacy blind around a stand of trees where the composting toilet resides, and a food bag lift to attach your food and trash bags to about 100 yards from the campsite. Unlimited Split firewood is free next to where you will park that you can take down to the site. All trash needs to be carted out with you. We can't accept mixed trash as it will attract animals that will knock over the trashcans and make a mess. No food goes in our personal trashcans as we have learned this the hard way. Wallkill River Camping

We are a 30-acre working active Hay farm. We purchased the farm when my grandfather passed away in 2014. It was once used to feed his cows. We had a working dairy farm. Now the property is used for your enjoyment and ours. As well as making hay. We have an 8-acre garden planted with rhubarb, raspberries, and berries on the farm too. We are located next to the Wallkill River which the campsite overlooks. We have 3 campsites available to choose from. Toilet available, campfires permitted, picnic table provided, pets welcome. Be advised we are a working farm so you will see woodpiles, machinery, such as tractors and other items sometimes hanging around.

There is additional information and a very good campground map on the website www.wyofarm.com. Our 75 acres is a wonderful, diverse mix of habitat, harmoniously integrated with our small farm. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond or artesian spring fed pool. Our location is convenient to the Berkshire Mountains, state parks, hiking and other attractions, including Ramble Wild tree to tree adventures and Jiminy Peak. There are a few miles of rail trail access just down the road.

This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. Ithaca Artsy Bunkie

Stay in our cozy heated and well insulated, artsy cabin. We're located on a quiet woodsy dead end street with tons of bird life and acres of nature to enjoy. Walking trails are right out the back gate! There is also frog pond and campfire pits to enjoy. Marshmallows and roasting sticks provided. The bunkhouse is less than 2 miles to the center of Ithaca where there is plenty to do! including taking advantage of the new bike share program and waterfront trails. Definitely come hungry, Ithaca has more restaurants per capita than NYC and LA.!! Were also just 12 min across town to Cornell University and Ithaca College and 5-20 minutes from numerous amazing waterfalls. The available half bathroom is in the main house, just seconds from the cabin and is open to use 24 hrs. The heated bunkhouse has 2 twin mattresses in the loft, and several blankets and pillows, but you need to BRING YOUR OWN SHEETS and pillow CASES as you wish. Firewood is $5 per fire, starters materials included, marshmallows are in the end table drawer! There are roasting sticks near the cabin door and out by the far fire pit. You can select the campfire wood option here or pay in cash in the cabin. Feel free to bring your own fire wood and pay nothing to enjoy a campfire. if you need any help starting a fire, we can help. We have a sweet fluffy orange cat who roams the property. His name is kitty kitty :) He's fearful of dogs, and is wary of visitors since they might be harboring one! If you have a pup with you, please keep them leashed at least around the main house and cabin. We are also have a very sweet dog, Beya-- (pronounced Bay-yuh). She is the nicest person you'd hope to meet and although she may bark a little the first time you come in to use the bathroom she's just letting us know you have arrived- and will be very happy to have you greet her. She doesn't jump up, growl, or have any negative behavior with people --other than getting underfoot in the kitchen!. There isn't a shower included in the stay unless you are here for multiple days and have spoken with us about it...but you can definitely wash up with hot water and soap, in the half bath --hand towel provided. The cabin has air conditioning for summer use so no worries about being too warm to sleep well.
