We hope your visit to Ubuntu will be peaceful and rejuvenating. Ubuntu was the PERFECT place to observe the Northern Lights on Friday and Saturday (May 10-11). Campers at Ubuntu found the perfect spot to observe the April 8th TOTAL solar eclipse. There are no lights, no neighbors in sight, and they had the freedom to choose their campsite or observation point, whether it was on the flat, nestled in the trees, or on top of Carney Mountain. RV’s also easily found a spot to camp. New friends were made as everyone observed the eclipse. It was totally awe inspiring in so many ways!! The open areas and the top of Carney Mountain, which is a short hike with panoramic views of the area, were perfect spots to experience the solar eclipse, Northern Lights, sunrises and sunsets. The 115 acres of Ubuntu offer many opportunities for camping, hiking and enjoying the abundant wildlife. There is a wet area that sometimes becomes several ponds if the beavers have been at work. There is a path leading to the ponds and also one that runs through the woods to the right of the ponds. The location is private and quiet but still very accessible (only 10 minutes from Exit 34 off the Northway) to all the Adirondacks has to offer, such as biking, jogging, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and hiking. Ubuntu is located only 45 minutes from Lake Placid and the high peaks areas, Saranac Lake is about one hour away, Lake Champlain is 20 minutes away, and Montreal is one hour away. The ferry to Vermont if you wish to cross over the pond (Lake Champlain) is about 45 minutes away. And Exit 34 off the Northway is only 10 minutes from Ubuntu. And if you love equestrian sports, the Willow Hill Equestrian Center is less than 1.5 miles away. Bring your horse and stable your buddy at the Willow Hill Farm, or sign up for a lesson with one of their accomplished instructors. Your furry pets are welcome, but we ask that you keep them on a leash if they tend to chase game or do not have a reliable recall. Please use good judgment. There are many deer on the property, so yes we do have ticks. Please take the necessary precautions. Generators are allowed but in keeping with the peace and tranquility of Ubuntu, please run them only between the hours of 12:00 - 2 PM, especially if other campers are present.. We have 40 acres with miles of trails through the property. It is located on the hudson valley wine trail so there are tons of wineries to access. We are in the mountains with great climbing, next to a state park. The campsite is on top of a massive boulder that looks out over the grounds with tons of wildlife surrounding. On a dead end road in the middle of the woods with no other houses within sight. ***PLEASE NOTE: BATHROOMS ARE NOW OPEN FOR THE SEASON. A little bit about us. This is a small campground. We do have one Glamping site as well as well as a super luxurious pool house available. We rent small retro RV's as well, see our other listings!! There are 40 acres here to explore with small streams, wetlands and forests. We have 4 modern brand new bathrooms with a hot showers in a beautiful new bathhouse with a charging station for phones and tablets. Its pretty amazing!!!!! We do have sulfur water, its great for your skin but smells! Each site usually has a 2 chairs, a table , a grill and a fire ring..... We also offer 3 vintage campers for a unique glamping experience. We have a 1984, a 1975 and a 1966 all with solar electric lighting. Running water is located at the camp store. Take a look at our listings or ask me. Boulder Point Camping is centrally located among indoor and outdoor activities, great restaurants, local shops, and antiquing. We are close to loads of hiking trails, state parks, restaurants, creeks, swimming, fishing and more. Sam's Point, Ice Caves Mountain, and Minnewaska State Park just to name a few! In addition there are plenty of microbreweries, wineries, and farms where you can pick your fruit right off the tree (or vine) as the case may be. We are also a few minutes from Angry Orchard, Gardiner Brewing Company, and Baldwin Vineyards and many many others... Dogs welcome with an additional $20 fee. Waterfall Creek

This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. Wyomanock Farm

This land was the homestead of the very first caucasian settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. We have 40 acres with miles of trails through the property. It is located on the hudson valley wine trail so there are tons of wineries to access. We are in the mountains with great climbing, next to a state park. The campsite is on top of a massive boulder that looks out over the grounds with tons of wildlife surrounding. On a dead end road in the middle of the woods with no other houses within sight. ***PLEASE NOTE: BATHROOMS ARE NOW OPEN FOR THE SEASON. A little bit about us. This is a small campground. We do have one Glamping site as well as well as a super luxurious pool house available. We rent small retro RV's as well, see our other listings!! There are 40 acres here to explore with small streams, wetlands and forests. We have 4 modern brand new bathrooms with a hot showers in a beautiful new bathhouse with a charging station for phones and tablets. Its pretty amazing!!!!! We do have sulfur water, its great for your skin but smells! Each site usually has a 2 chairs, a table , a grill and a fire ring..... We also offer 3 vintage campers for a unique glamping experience. We have a 1984, a 1975 and a 1966 all with solar electric lighting. Running water is located at the camp store. Take a look at our listings or ask me. I'll tell you all about them. *Please note that use of the pool is available to guests of the pool house only. We also offer hiking excursions. Please book in advance. Our sites are in the middle of the 40 acres of beautiful undeveloped land to explore or just enjoy the quiet. There are no street lights to block the view of the night sky and the fire flies are something to see. We still have all the cool stuff like tons of restaurants, breweries, wineries & vineyards, and farms all around. Boulder Point Camping is centrally located among indoor and outdoor activities, great restaurants, local shops, and antiquing. We are close to loads of hiking trails, state parks, restaurants, creeks, swimming, fishing and more. Sam's Point, Ice Caves Mountain, and Minnewaska State Park just to name a few! In addition there are plenty of microbreweries, wineries, and farms where you can pick your fruit right off the tree (or vine) as the case may be. We are also a few minutes from Angry Orchard, Gardiner Brewing Company, and Baldwin Vineyards and many many others... Dogs welcome with an additional $20 fee. We can accommodate small vans, popups and RVs as well. Check in is at 3 pm Check out is a strict 12 pm unless prior arrangements have been made. We took great care to make sure each campsite is PRIVATE (parking on-site*) and the trails are easily navigable. Our 'Welcome Shed' is equipped with a compost toilet, local information, (newly added) Hot Water Station, first-aid kit, charging station, bug spray etc. and is located in a safe, well lit, open area on the property. Each site is equipped with a fire pit and comfortable seating with tables, chairs, and/or picnic tables and tripod grills. Firewood is available on a donation basis. There are State Parks and places to hike one of the many gorges around beautiful Seneca Lake and surrounding area. Take a tour of the many wineries and breweries which our region is famous for. Enjoy hiking, swimming, biking, kayaking, and many historical sites to see. Our reviews tell it all. We know you'll love it here :) *PLEASE NOTE: Our sites are custom made for TENT or CAR camping. Because we have "parking on-site", Large RVs, Campers (over 16'), and any 5th-wheel campers are very difficult to place since there are no easy ways to back in or turn around. We highly recommend "Havana Glen State Park" (same general area) for those types of camping units.
