There are bath houses throughout the campground and the closest one to the camp site is a 1 minute walk. According to a few sources we've consulted, the Mohican people (Eastern Algonquian family of tribes - not to be confused with the Mohawk, a distinctly different tribe) were the indigenous occupants of the land where our farm is now located. Historians note that the name Mohican is from the indigenous word meaning "water that flows in two directions." Most Mohicans were driven into western NY and Canada when the Revolutionary War broke out. Local history indicates that the first white occupants to build here were the Hawley Family, in 1790. Parts of the farmhouse date to this era. Outbuildings were added through the decades and centuries, and the land was used as a dairy farm, among other ventures, by previous owners. We purchased the property in 2021 in hopes of providing more space, nature and outdoor living for our two little ones. We have two fields dedicated to Christmas trees, as well as apple, pear and cherry trees, and we've had successful garlic harvests to share with neighbors, family, friends, and at local farmers' markets. There aren’t any chickens, but there are many forest creatures that wander out of the Green Mountain National Forest & into the meadow. You may see foxes, deer, moose, large marmots, and lots of different birds including wild turkeys & great blue herons. Apple trees of many varieties are scattered around. Come eat freely when they fruit! You’ll be camping on a hill with a fire ring nearby. The beautiful sunrises and sunsets are both visible as the meadow is open to the south, east & west. This is a special place in a perfect location. If you like to explore by foot, there’s a network of private hiking trails and a river to cool off in, both within 1/4 mile from your campsite. Also easily within walking distance is the village of Rawsonville: Ungrounded Coffee, Meulemans' Craft Draughts, Honeypie, Family Kitchen and Pizzeria, OMG garden center & gift shop (home to the occasional Greenhouse Sessons event!), Mountain Riders, Equipe Sport & the Rawsonville Marketplace where you can get basic supplies and fuel. Speaking of fuel, if you really want to roll your wheels… Stratton Village is 8 minutes by car. Take a gondola ride to the top and check out the fire tower where you can see the entire lower half of Vermont state on a clear day. The village centers of Jamaica, Londonderry and Peru are also very close by and boast great food and crafts. And there’s always Manchester, if you’re seeking lots of shopping and fine dining. Horseback riding is a 15 minute drive from the campsite at Horses For Hire in Peru. This is a truly authentic experience. Trail rides for all abilities- even the “pony ride” for the little kids is a trail through the woods. Not to be missed! Also in Peru is Bromley Mountain which, during the summer months, becomes The Thrill Zone featuring a giant alpine slide. At Bee Well Homestead in Jamaica, there is authentic BBQ, live music and yoga every Sunday morning. The New American Grill in Londonderry has a wide selection of delicious food and their open mic night on Thursdays feature very talented local musicians. Even though it’s so close to all these uniquely wonderful people and their businesses, it is really just off a little country road - the best of both worlds!

Sunrise Farm Sites 1 and 2 have oodles of space and Spectacular 50 mile views of Mount Monadnock with no house lights out there in the evening except the party string lights we provide. Site 1 (with entrance 70 yards south of the farmhouse) is best for camping in with up to 20 foot trailers or multiple tents …on the large flat spaces in the 25 acre field to choose from. Great Well water available near farmhouse. Biodegradable soaps Only if used in the ponds. Double Olympic sized Swim Pond we stock with Rainbow Trout to keep clear. We have been advised Not to allow imported firewood (can import Wood Beetle dangerous for our forest). - PLEASE use the Firewood bundle tubs we provide ($11) - pick up at the farmhouse or pull wood from the woods (and make it safer for use). Beautiful and plenty of wildlife nearby... as well as Port a Potties are marked on Map we provide with solar lights marking them at night. Do Not Leave food out when camping or away from site. Bears are rarely seen but it is wild country. Sites have locking garbage lids. Unique and lovely as well as being next to trails and roads to miles of remote spots with very few if any ... people. Archdale Meadows

Private driveway in the woods leads up a hill to three fabulous, secluded, country-setting camping locations with incredible views. Hay fields in front of you with woods behind you, you'll have peace and quiet in total seclusion but are only 5 minutes from downtown historic Greenwich village with diners and shops and a CVS. (The “Stewarts” gas station and market has firewood bundles!) Camping locations have no amenities but are cleared with mowed grass and have fire-pits. Pitch tent or bring RV, you'll enjoy yourself and the wildlife around you. Site 1 and 2 are adjacent to woods, site 3 is a wide-open-field site (great RV site) with the best panoramic and sunset view. There is camp wood for fires in various spots on the property (40 acres) that campers are welcome to but you might want to bring some of your own as well. Also, the coded entrance gate will be open for your reservation date so no additional call is required. UPDATE...driveway regraded for easier access for all vehicles now. Long Trail Brewery is 5 minutes down the road. Snowmobile/ATV Vermont is a 1/2 mile away for guided tours. First Stop Board Barn is 1 minute down the street for ski, snowboard and snowshoe rentals in the winter and bikes, kayaks and paddle boards in the summer. The property is 2 minutes to Woodward Reservoir and 10 minutes to Echo lake for water activities in the summer. Close to Appalachian/ Long Trail for hiking.
