Paradise Valley Homestead

11 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents33 acres · West Milford, NJ
GREAT NEWS!!! As of April 5th, my long awaited 1st Glamping site is available for booking! Please read the description carefully of the "Gypsy Rose Vardo", to see if it's the right fit for you. We also have 10 large camping sites available on our 33 acre property located in Northwest NJ. Sites 1 through 4 are on mowed, fairly level fields and are large enough for campers or RV's up to 30ft, or a couple of tents, and sites 5 and 6 are further back in the woods, available only for a few small tents, sites 7 through 10 are much further into the property and are only accessible with a high clearance AWD or 4WD SUV or you can park and hike your gear in. There are 3 compost toilet outhouses spread out through the Hipcamp, so it's an easy walking distance from any site. Although we are only 2 1/2 miles from a main highway, the last 2 miles are on a dirt road with no houses. We are surrounded by protected land, so no neighbors and lots of wildlife, including the occasional bear, coyote or raccoon. Keep all food items secured. Because we are surrounded by protected land we are not sprayed for insects, so be safe and do tick checks often and bring the bug spray. We are 45 minutes from NYC or the Delaware Water Gap and an hour away from the NJ shore. There are horse farms nearby that offer trail rides. We are also close to the Highland and Appalachian Hiking trails. There are two reservoirs within a 20-minute drive for canoeing or kayaking. There are walking trails through our property, including a ten-minute hike on a marked trail to a small waterfall in a ravine.

TainoWoods Fairy Magical Sweet Land

12 sites · Lodging, Tents10 acres · Harris, NY
Jesse and Chantel are the kindhearted and dedicated keepers of this beautiful oasis. With twelve acres of pure forest and sweet river waters, our vision is to preserve and honor the ways of our ancestors for seven generations to come; and serve the community by sharing our indigenous practices. We are a healing Native American Sanctuary, and nature is our church so to all who are called to come and be present with gratitude and respect for the power of this planet. Enjoy this majestic sweet forest and feel the beautiful energy it has! We will share our indigenous ways with all who want to come join and pray with us. Each brother and sister will receive cedar to pray with their fire which represents Great Spirit(Yaya Guaturey), you can set your intensions to release what no longer serves your lives, and then to make space to receive what will bring harmony in. The East Mongaup River flows right along our land. We keep it clean and charged with good vibrations. It will surely melt away any stress you carry; sending you back home feeling renewed, restored, and rejuvenated! Our Taino Woods Sanctuary, a.k.a Fairy Magical Sweet Land, of twelve acres in the Catskills is the perfect place to commune in prayer, pitch your tent, gaze up at the stars, and unwind next to a nearby fire. This raw, soft, organic land is a home teeming with life. Listen to the birds as they sing throughout the day and into the night. (We call them the fairies). Look for the curious creatures that walk the earth like the frogs and newts. Open your ears to the sweet sounds of the East Mongaup River; and perhaps take the brief walk down to visit her. We, the land stewards, believe in making a place better than how we found it. We want to preserve the land’s naturalness and ecosystem; so we ask that you do not hurt or remove any of its animals, moss, insects, or plants; and most importantly, do not feed any of them. We look forward to hosting you on a magical journey to inner peace. Thank you and many blessings.

The River's Edge

6 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents60 acres · Pocono Woodland Lakes, PA
The River's Edge campsites sit on the shoreline of the Delaware River at the western edge of New York State overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night. Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October (say 'hi' to Jim). In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be.

Welcome to Clearing Farm! Our grounds expand over 100 acres with many private hiking trails, a big field and cascading waterfalls. Visit our Instagram @clearingfarm to find out more. It is a far cry from a typical hotel or traditional glamping. This Clearing Farm off-grid cabin is located on our 100+ acre farm. You'll be staying right next to a waterfall and able to enjoy all our land features. Experience a private campsite equipped with a Casper Full Mattress, fire pit and charcoal grill. Monarch Meadows

1 site · Lodging17 acres · Kerhonkson, NY
This 17-acre site has diverse habitats, from an upland pine and hardwood forest to wild native meadows full of blueberries, asters and milkweed. The most special feature is a large tributary and creek waterway system with areas of wetland. Once choked with invasive plants, it is now a largely restored native plant and wildlife habitat that supports migrating herons, trout, amphibians and clouds of Monarch and other butterflies. In the fall I've seen Monarchs circle up in vortexes from the meadows and take off on their migration. There are several large swimming holes where the creek turns or joins with its tributary. Bridges have been installed over the tributary and over brooklets feeding into it. A lot of care and love is going into this land. Over 500 native trees planted along the creek banks are growing into a forest - you'll see many still in protective tubes and cages. Thousands of native pollinator ground-plants have been planted or sprung up on their own, some like tiny flowering gems on the shady forest floors. The old stone walls running through the property and around its boundaries speak to its history as a farm and an apple orchard. Swimming, hiking, fishing and bird-and-wildlife watching will fascinate you in this dynamic landscape that is constantly coming closer to what used to exist hundreds of years ago and is now reestablishing itself. In the vicinity, there's Tetta's, a deli/cafe/gas station and small emporium with made-to-order pizza, local raw honey, mushroom, crafts, and all kinds of food, pretty much everything you need; it's been in the family for generations. Find it Northeast on Samsonville Road (County Rt. 3) at the junctions of Rts. 2 & 3. There's a hike to a waterfall if you drive a few miles down Upper Cherrytown Road from the end of Sundown Road: you'll see a parking lot with signs for the falls; the DEC-maintained trail is across the road (https://www.catskillmountaineer.com/SD-vernooy-falls-east.html). There's venues nearby along Rt. 209 with local musicians on Saturday nights: places like The Outpost Barbeque, 6611 Rt. 209 in Kerhonkson, Lydia's Cafe at 7 Old US Hwy 209, Stone Ridge. Near Lydia's is a favorite afternoon hang-out, Cherries Roadside and General, which not only has literally hundreds of ice cream flavors, but an excellent, informal restaurant. I can talk to you about many other fun places.

Both tents come with sleeping bag, sheets, pillows, blankets, a robe, towel set, tent lantern, small flashlight, water bottle and power charger bank. We are so proud to welcome you to Hippie Havens, a groovy place to “Let the SunShine In.”   ———————————————-   About us: ——I’m Shaggy, my wife is Kendra-we moved here and began creating Hippie Havens in 2019. For 10+ years we lived in New York City in a 4 bedroom apartment with 8 roommates and ONE bathroom, so moving to Narrowsburg was a huge change matched only by the huge project lists we needed to complete. Now we are so excited to share how far we’ve come and what we’ve learned so far.   I have been OBSESSED with the original Woodstock and Hippie Vibes since I was 14 years old when I first performed in the musical “Hair”. This was the first step in my acting career… a journey that led to meeting Kendra in 2009 in the musical “Rent” in Charleston, SC.  We were married in a big Hippie Musical Festival—themed wedding in nearby Woodbourne, NY and we continued our lives as actors.  Then came “Hair” into our lives again, and we did HUNDREDS of performances across the USA and Europe.  We knew that a part of us never wanted to leave the 60s, and this inspired us to “theme our cabin” to celebrate Woodstock and the Hippie Movement.   CABIN INFO: It’s a small cozy cabin with a lot of Big Deck Energy! The cabin is a studio Single room just over 150 square feet. The inside of the cabin is equipped with a Queen Bed, WiFi, fans, color- changing LED lights, outlets, a coffee station, a water filter, and hot water kettle. We included a record player and a library of 60s vinyl to enjoy as well as my old Guitar and a library of books concerning local info and Woodstock. The cabin is surrounded on 3 sides by a large deck. One part has a pair of hammock chairs, the large part has a fire pit surrounded by an outdoor couch set and rocker. It also has a tall dining setup for two. The back deck is our kitchen and bathroom deck. Our bathroom consists of a composting toilet and a shower. All the flowing water to the shower and outdoor sink is collected rain water -- you cannot drink the tap water. The cabin is on the far corner of the cleared part of our land. It is “semi-private”, meaning that while we live on the property, we will leave you to your vacation unless you need us for something-or if you would like to share a moment we'd be delighted. We have ten acres for you to wander. Our woods are inviting and easy to explore. The perimeter is marked with pink flags-PLEASE PLEASE wear high visibility on both your body and your pet's during fall's hunting season. A spring-fed pond makes for lovely reflection, and the seasonal frog song in the evenings is pure magic. The nights are incredibly starry and brilliant.  We are located very rurally with almost no neighbors in sight from our property (they are there though so please keep the music down after 10 p.m.)   If you are after relaxation, we have installed a salt water hot tub and a wood burning sauna (sauna is an additional fee). Hot tub is equipped with an outdoor surround-sound entertainment system ideal for watching concerts or shows!). As a general rule of thumb, most hot tub sessions should last between 15 and 45 minutes. While soaking, we recommend taking breaks, Hydrating, resting, and then entering the spa again. Please keep all hot tub sessions to a "Reasonable Length and Time".   Since moving up here, my wife has become an incredible farmer. Two of the most prominent features on our land are our large greenhouse and garden. Tours of these are possible when wife and I are available-and in season vegetable, herb, and produce purchases are possible. (Please do not tour gardens or greenhouse without one of us with you)   IMPORTANT TO NOTE: *Our bathroom system setup for cabin is a hybrid rain collection/composting setup. The bathroom and shower are outdoor and rustic-please do not book if outdoor rustic bathrooms and showers are a deal breaker for you. The toilet will not flush as it is a composting non water toilet from Nature’s Head. The water that runs from the sink and the shower is Rainwater collection and not suitable for drinking or consumption. Please conserve water.   *Our property isn’t suitable for bare feet.  Livin-brambles, thorns, and sharp things exist here-its safer to wear shoes of some sort.   *Renting a hot tub (especially a beloved hot tub!) can be real dicey. It only takes one bad apple to make a gross apple hot tub stew. Our salt water tub uses less chemicals than a chlorine tub so  please Please PLEASE be VERY RESPECTFUL and please DON’T BE DISGUSTING in our tub so we can continue to rent it. Do not spill in tub, do not use glass in tub, for GODS SAKES don’t pee in the tub. If tub needs to be emptied and cleaned, we HAVE TO charge you a $400 fee-no joke-don’t be nasty. **ANOTHER HOT TUB NOTE-heating a hot tub is EXPENSIVE-please enjoy the tub for a responsible amount of time. We REQUIRE you to replace the cover when you are done using the hot tub. Forgetting to re-cover hot tub will incur a $250 fee—seriously!! It’s easy to close-please close it.   *Please respect our privacy—-     Do not knock on or come to our front or back door-please try messaging, or texting,     Our house and back deck are off limits as is our woodshed and tool shed. The garden and greenhouse (and berry garden) are only available to visit with one of us present. We have to pay a lot for firewood to heat house in winter-we have additional wood available to purchase. Please do NOT help yourself.   *EVERYTHING on property is “use at your own risk”. Please be careful around trampoline and all water activity.   *Please be mindful when building fires-keep fire size manageable   *PETS* we are 100% pet friendly but please keep two things in mind: -TAJ! Our goldendoodle Taj is a real sweet beast and he rules the roost, free ranging during the days. If your pet doesn’t play well with others, let us know and we can work something out. —-WILD BEASTS-we get ALL OF THEM-I strongly recommend keeping your pet on a long leash during evening and at night —Very 420 friendly but we ask that you enjoy outside on large deck and refrain from hot boxing the cabin. —Here at Hippie Havens we love nature-and we have a lot of it. This property has insects, frogs, snakes, bear, ticks, skunks, mosquitos, and other woodland animals found outside in the Catskills as well as hazardous indigenous plants like poison ivy. The bathrooms are outdoors and rustic. —cabin doesn’t lock-we live in a VERY safe area but we recommend leaving anything you want locked up in your locked vehicle. — Features like bugs, the composting toilet, and the cabin’s rustic nature are fully disclosed in our listing. As such, we do not offer refunds for any conditions mentioned in the property description. By booking this lodging/camping, you agree to save and hold harmless Hippie Havens LLC, and Brett Travis and Kendra Payne from any liability arising out of your stay. You acknowledge that there are natural hazards such as uneven surfaces, bodies of water, wildfire, wildlife and noxious plants that are beyond the control of the owner, and their are manmade hazards such as the hot tub and sauna, trampoline, hammocks and buildings, and you assume all responsibility for your own safety.
