3 nights at Wilbur's Shed

This was my first stay with hipcamp and it was amazing! My husband and I will definitely be back to Wilbur’s Shed with our pups. The road up is definitely steep and rocky with some small but deep ditches. Definitely recommend 4WD, but wasn’t as bad as we were expecting! Download offline maps on google and you’re good. There isn’t much (ie; stores/activities unrelated to nature) in the surrounding towns/areas and that’s exactly how we like it. There was a fire pit, port a potty, 2 picnic tables & the shed (big enough for us to camp up in, tho we used a tent) all of which were so useful. The host, Wesley, left lots of firewood for us to use which helped a TON with the unusually cold weather we had. He also greeted us shortly after we arrived and was so nice and welcoming! (even though our dogs all barked at him… sorry again, Wesley! lol) Our city dogs had the time of their lives running all over the giant site. They had so much room to roam and didn’t even get near the property lines because they had so much room by where we set up. I worried about wildlife (and my dogs seeing it lol) but we didn’t happen to see anything but birds for the 4 days we were there. Cannot recommend Wilbur’s Shed enough, 10/10 experience!

Weekend Trip to Paradise By The Pond

My son and I went on an impromptu overnight trip and I couldn't be happier with Yvonne's property. Paradise by the pond is maintained impeccably, and Yvonne's customer service is top notch!! Would definitely recommend and i hope to be able to stay here again soon!

1 night at RV Hook Up at The Barn

Great camping spot. Easy to get to and nice parking area. Secluded with a great fire pit. I would highly recommend the barn and will definitely stay again if I am in the area.

Weekend Trip to Wilbur's Shed

Exactly as described and we loved it! It’s the perfect area, not far from the turnpike so an easy drive from the Philly area. First place I have stayed that offered electricity and it was so appreciated since we were winter camping and needed a heater. Port-a-potty was a nice added convenience too. We loved sitting in the shed watching the snow fall. Look forward to returning in the spring.

2 nights at Creekside Getaway

If your looking for peace and quiet then this is the place for you. This is our second trip here and it just doesn't dissapoint. The fire pit on the stream is absolutely amazing. Firewood is provided and the stream provides the coldest cleanest water I've encountered. Will be back again soon.

1 night at Wilbur's Shed

We thoroughly enjoyed camping at Wilbur’s Shed. The drive there was relaxing and beautiful as well. Wesley was a fantastic host and very responsive to any needs. The site is truly private and quiet with a wonderful Mountain View along with a sky full of starts. We had a clear night and were able to see multiple planets with the naked eye. We camped in our Tesla so having the 240v connection was a plus. The short access road does have some ditches you traverse over thus a standard SUV or truck will be helpful. We had to raise our air suspension as we drove up to the site. We did have a chance to check out Wesley and his Wife’s airbnb close by and it looks like a great place to stay as well.

3 nights at Wilbur's Shed

Wilbur's shed was exactly as described. It is in a very isolated location so if you want to get away from it all it's perfect. I came late on Christmas eve and stayed til Friday. I took a couple rides on back roads around the town. It is very pretty terrain, but definitely not a populated area. This was absolutely great for people who come prepared and don't need stores for anything. My dogs and I will definitely be back. The firepit is a great size and we made fantastic lobster and filet mignon over the fire for Christmas dinner. The host came to check on us just for a min and was very nice.

Weekend Trip to Alpaca's of Fairhawk

Super nice host who gave our kids a tour of the farm as we arrived during feeding time! Great place for camping out on the top of a wide open field, with a nice fire pit to utilize. We would revisit if we were in the area again.

Weekend Trip to Wilbur's Shed

We drove 4 hours from Delaware to really escape it all for an evening and we are so happy we did! I searched HipCamp for an ACTUALLY secluded campsite and was not disappointed. We were not interested in camping around other people. This campsite was perfect. Nice and secluded with a beautiful view, and the drive was gorgeous too! We are already talking about coming back next Spring. The host was so nice, too, and even came to check on us once we got settled in — and brought us some stickers to commemorate our trip! The shed providing electricity without killing the off-grid vibe was a huge bonus. We will definitely be back as long as this site is available!!!

Weekend Trip to Wilbur's Shed

We loved camping at Wilbur’s Shed. Very secluded, only heard a couple of cars, and only saw the owner very briefly who dropped off some goodies. Beautiful views. As stated in the description, the driveway is a little difficult to get up, but if you go slow and steady, you will be fine (assuming you do not have a low profile car). Having electric was awesome. We only have a 25ft power cord and are going to order an extension so we can position the rv to be able to wake up to the beautiful ridge in the morning. Will definitely be staying here again!

The space was private, quiet, and serene. Andrew was kind and courteous to deal with. The outhouse is clean and the space is beautiful.

What can I say!! The place is absolutely fabulous. Also around the farm the scenery is so beautiful what an area! Thank you Mr. Richard, for accepting us. A gentleman, his family welcomed us with warmth and smiles, helped us wonderfully. Thank you.

Bald Eagle Campsite

Originally opened as a family campground owned and operated by Denis and Kay Snyder in 1964. Bald Eagle Campsite has been owned and operated by the Snyder family to this day! Come join us in the beautiful forested landscape of Central Pennsylvania. Located a mere 20 miles south of Penn State University, we are surrounded by the many amenities Central PA has to offer. We are welcoming to LGBTQ+ campers as well as all ethnicities. Pitch a tent on a quiet site and drop a line into one of our two trout streams crossing the campground. Hang a hammock between two towering poplar trees surrounded by flowering rhododendron. Or pull up in your camper and relax before and after a Penn State Football game under the blue and white sky. We have small, secluded sites to get away from it all, as well as conjoined sites to accommodate larger groups. On property we have bathrooms, hot showers, and a recreation hall with free ping pong, board games, and billiards. For a fee, we also have firewood, electricity, and a large event tent for rent. Campers must be less than 25 feet. Generators are not allowed. Music should not reach outside your own site after 9pm. There are no water hookups. Vehicle noise is audible from route 350, especially on Friday afternoons. Noise is diminished at sites further back from route 350. Our sites are wheelchair accessible, but the bathrooms and showers do have one step up into them. Walk to Snappy's 24-hour convenience store to use their free Wi-Fi, buy bags of ice, or to pickup snacks and a sub in the attached Snappy's Grille. An ice cream stand and restaurant are within walking distance. We require a minimum two nights stay for the recognized holiday weekends for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Wilbur's Shed

Let your children and dogs roam free without a leash. This property is remote and private. There are no neighbors nearby. This location is; twenty minutes north of I-76 Turnpike Willow Hill Exit forty-five minutes from Raystown Lake one hour and thirty minutes north of Gettysburg one hour and thirty minutes south of PSU three hours east of Pittsburgh three hours west of Philadelphia five hours west of NYC There is some cell service, but it is limited. Can you hear me now? Be sure to save site information on your phone before you leave, in case you lose cell-service. This is not Alaska, but it is not a KOA campground, either. We recommend you print of bring a paper map. Your GPS will not bring you to the exact driveway location. You need to be personally observant. This is the top of a mountain ridge. The access lane is steep, rocky, and has water erosion ditches you must drive over. Do not attempt this if you have a low profile car or a new/fragile camper. 4WD/AWD is highly recommended. Low profile and fancy cars are not recommended. This is not Alaska, but it is not a paved KOA campground, either. This camping site is for those who want to live ruggedly like Lewis Clark. It is NOT for those who like their campground to be like The Villages of Florida where everything is flat, paved over, and you drive golf carts. This location is in a mix of farmland and mountain Appalachia. You will see common species such as chipmunks, squirrels turkey and deer. Many bird species. There are also porcupines, skunks, and black snakes around. You may also see black bear - it is rare, but possible. You are visiting wildlife species in their natural habitat. Please be self-aware of your own level comfort with wildlife. Once again, this is not an RVs park where you will socialize with a hundred other campers. This is primitive and isolated. This is an ideal camping spot if you want to escape from people. Nearby is the Tuscarora Creek which is excellent for trout fishing. The Tuscarora has a small but lovely window for kayaking from mid-March through the end of May. Please contact the host if you would like help to plan some paddle logistics.
