Weekend Trip to Breathe Deeply

Perfect spot for a little Austin getaway. We brought our dog along and found 3 places nearby that had music, dog parks, and beer! Close to Lake Travis for a day getaway to the lake. We did Jessica Hollis Park. The airstream had everything you could think of. Even a little speaker to take with us to the lake! The bed was comfy and it fit myself and my 6ft partner. Landers was very accommodating. We will definitely be returning for another weekend there.

What went well? EVERYTHING was better than described or expected. My wife and I were met by Bo (sorry if not the spelling). Smiling from ear to ear and just an overall wonderful person. He helped us take our things to our cabin and described different things that we could do. Everything from a scavenger hunt to harmonica lessons. Beautiful property nestled away from traffic or prying eyes. The cabins are spaced well far apart so you do not feel like others are in your business. I could not believe how well stocked the cabin was. Plenty of blankets, heaters, ceiling fans, air conditioning, cookware, microwave - this was literally the easiest camping experience I've ever had and I'm 55 lol. They also have a fire pit area for each individual cabin to make the experience even nicer. We spent 2 evenings and just had a blast. There are plenty of places to get wonderful food, beverages or any other thing you and your family might need. This is a must stop for camping on a wonderful level. Each cabin also had its own 5 star outhouse and 5 star is the truth! Absolutely cleaner than public restrooms with every necessity. I highly recommend this camping spot!

Spot was convenient from Guadalupe River State Park. Host was easy to communicate with and the place was easy to find. The spot was nice and private.

I LOVED the Bait House! It was just the right size for a getaway with myself and my dog. I think 2 adults max would be comfortable here. It had everything I needed and more. The outdoor shower was a delightful experience. The only downside for me was they have chickens and roosters on the property and I was awoken by the cock-a-doodle-do before dawn every morning. The house was is located near a few parks so we were able to enjoy hiking within 10 minutes from the property. Downtown Marble Falls is also about 10 min away if you want local dining experiences, which I did grab takeout from 2 different restaurants while I was there. Overall it was a nice little getaway and great location!

Camping at Geronimo's land reminded me of camping as a Boy Scout in my early teens. It was awesome to share the nostalgia with my daughter as we roasted marshmallows over the campfire. We were able to enjoy all that the place had to offer, like the rope swing into the frigid Colorado river, fishing poles available at the riverside, the strategically placed hammock providing a peaceful, relaxing view of the water and even the little old play park. Our stay was uninterrupted, except for the welcomed firewood delivery on the first night. This facilitated the great Daddy-Daughter Camping tradition we have come to enjoy annually. PS. This is not glamping, this place is for REAL CAMPERS (you know yourselves).

We absolutely loved camping here. Both Hollis and Beaux are AMAZING hosts. Extremely responsive and kind people. The site was beautiful. We stayed at site 4, surrounded by trees, but still able to see the stars. Beautiful lights wrapped around the tree and equipped with a grill, fire pit, and picnic table. It was truly such an amazing campsite. The outhouses were well maintained and there was even a hot water shower, also well maintained. The whole campgrounds itself is beautiful and has such a wonderful vibe. Can’t recommend this place enough!!

One of the best out there. Bridget was fast to respond and really cares about the guest experience. She went above and beyond a few times unprompted. The sites were great and spaced well apart. Easy drive from Austin. Kayaks available for rent and we took them out to go fishing. Beautiful land that is well taken care of. Plenty of details that show that the property owners care - from the fire pits to the showers to the layout of the sites - all very well thought out. Our family had a wonderful time. One note - you can hear the train horns at night, which kept us up the first night. They didn’t seem to bother us as much the second night. Bring earbuds if you’re sensitive to that. We’ll be back. Thanks again!

There is a honey bee themed gift shop on site that is regularly open Thu-Sat 10-6 that offers tastings and tours. There is a restroom and small sink area connected to store that is open 24 hrs. There are 2 LONG RV spots up to 45 feet in length BUT, they are back in only and the turn around area is tight if you have a BIG RIG. The 2 camper van sites are (Site 1) 32' and (Site 2) 22'. ****Recent Update**** Due to new adjacent properties developments, and new neighbors moving in nearby, there are occasional neighboring barking, music and gunshots that can be heard from the distance, which is pretty common out in the countryside here. *************************************************************************************** There is currently a group of 10 people who spend the majority of our time living and striving to create community on these 85 beautiful acres of land. Our goals are to establish a thriving community, grow most of our own food, build tiny houses to rent or sell, create sustainability and be as self sufficient as possible, salvage material for builds, host events and retreats, teach classes, and more. Please feel free to ask questions and share any interest you may have in what we are doing here. Our property is a densely forested 85 acres with a walk-able 2 miles around the perimeter of the property and many trails and hidden nooks to explore throughout the heart of this beautiful escape back to our natural roots. We are in the process of mapping out the trails- which we plan to make available soon! For now those of you with a sense of adventure and desire to explore will certainly be satisfied. We have a full acre size pond and a kayak that you can feel free to use. There is a communal area around the pond that we will be adding to in the near future- you may run into some of our community members or other campers there from time to time, we invite you to socialize, bring a chair, perhaps a beverage or snack and get to know each other and us as well if we cross paths! You will observe and encounter wildlife in abundance including a variety of birds, wild hogs, opossums, armadillo, moles, spiders, scorpions, butterflies, praying mantis, walking sticks, snakes- keep an eye out for rattlesnakes and copperheads, deer, many insects, and more. Please be cautious and treat these creatures' home with respect for them as well as yourselves. Our property is also home to some lovely cows, chickens, a few dogs, and several cats- they (other than the cows who do what they please) generally remain in areas away from our camp sites though they may still decide to stop by to say hello! We have many spaces available for camping throughout the property. These are primitive campsites on raw land so you will need to provide your own tent, water, food, and operate with a leave no trace mentality when camping here. There are areas that can accommodate large groups of campers as well as very secluded nooks if you are looking for a private retreat into nature. There is plenty of fallen wood available for firewood and a fire pit will be prepared for you before arrival!
