Quiet and secluded feeling but still located conveniently close to town. Felt like there was no one nearby even though all the sites looked full! Also had the cleanest porta potty I’ve ever seen, it was a pleasant surprise. Would stay again!

This little campground is the GEM of Utah. Thank you Cassie and Evan for this little treasure, it gave us a chance to just slow down and enjoy the area. We spent three wonderful nights and will do it all over again next time we are in this area. If you get the chance to take a break and do a little dry camping ....this is the place. Amazing sunsets!!!

A lovely place to stop on our way to Zion. Beautiful setting, nice bathroom/shower space, cool buildings. So great to be near all the animals (horses, mules, goats). We also heard the occasional rooster in the distance. Very peaceful. Highly recommend. :)

7 nights at South-40@LaSal Tent and RV Park

We really enjoyed our 1-week stay! The spot is located about 25 miles out of Moab and is very peaceful and quiet. The solitude and serenity were delightful! We were located about halfway between the Needles section of Canyonlands, where we wanted to hike, and the Island in the Sky section, where we biked. Stephen is incredibly helpful and friendly and always responded in a very short time when we had questions. The hip camp is spotlessly clean and even has great WiFi, which is rare in such spots. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it highly to others. We stayed in a 45-foot 5th wheel, and the site was large enough to accommodate our rig, the truck that pulls it, as well as my Jeep Grand Cherokee! One of the most comfortable and spacious Hip Camps we have stayed in.

We had a great stay at this site. The cows are quite welcoming! the site is beautifully prepared, water and electricity was a luxury. The bathrooms are clean and large. Plenty of space and close to the park but away from the feel of tourists.

2 nights at Zion Family Ranch Campground and RV

This campground was stellar! Very unique in that this is a big space but there are only a few RV spots (although they're close together). It was a quiet time at the campground so we felt like we had our own slice of heaven. The watercraft that was available for use was so nice. Also the tree swing! I felt having safe having my kids run around to explore because it was all contained and we were able to view the whole campground from our spot. The only thing that was annoying was the remodel of the bathroom that was happening during our stay. The cutting of the tile was loud. But we got through it. Overall I loved this place!

The sunset was so beautiful here and we loved the remoteness of the spot. We are fans - beautiful land and a great way to connect with nature. We would definitely return. 🌈🦋😇

2 nights at The Needles Outpost Campground

Needles Outpost was truly a wonderful spot. Nestled against a redrock formation among the junipers, it has private as well as sites with stunning views available. The store has a chest freezer full of frozen delectables in addition to the regular necessities for camp and pantry. Amber is a delightful host and made us feel welcome. The bathhouse has 2 stalls and 2 showers with 1 sink. It was very functional but in need of some upgrading. We enjoyed the close proximity to the Needles District of Canyonlands. The hiking there is great.

1 night at Zion Wright Ranch Eco-Camp

Such a cool spot! The road wasn’t as sketchy as some reviews said however I don’t think it had rained for days, the path once past the gates defiantly had some ruts you had to drive around but overall doable. I didn’t have service as my first choice spot by the tree so I moved to the more open spot along the front fence and had great views and service. The bathrooms were portapotties that were well maintained. The cows were roaming around the ranch. Overall great spot, with great views, and close to Zion where we biked the next day.

6 nights at Zion Wright Ranch Eco-Camp

We had a very pleasant experience at the Wrights family ranch. I had been nervous about the road because of all the discussion about it, but it was no big deal. It is a very typical dirt road and we had no issues. (It was dry for us) We loved watched the cows with their calfs and the sunrises and sunsets were amazing. There was tons of space but we made the mistake of stopping at the first set of trees. If I could do it over I would drive farther into the property. When we set up camp we were all alone but by the end of our trip we had neighbors on all sides. If we had gone deeper into the property we would have remained separated. Our site was beautiful so we never bothered moving. If you don’t love the sound of cow bells, bring ear plugs. We found it endearing, but there is the sound of cow bells at all hours! Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here, it is a magical place and an experience of a life time! I also recommend reading “The last Cowboys” before you go. It makes the experience even more magical.

RIVER BEND CAMP GROUND

ENTRANCE TO OUR PROPERTY IS STRAIGHT NORTH AT THE END OF THE PAVEMENT. PLEASE DO NOT TURN LEFT ON SESSION LANE! We have ten acres that our home sit on but about 9 acres that consist of dry farm grass. We use 1 acre for camping and parking. The Weber river runs across the back of our property where we have a campground with tables and firepits. This is a family campground. We do not have Electrical Power or Water hookups. We have added 4 wooden porta potty enclosed in small tents which we service every day or as needed. Site selection is determined by type of sleeping accommodations. We have two tent areas and 1 RV spot. Sometimes we can accommodate more RV's on a exception basis **We allow 2 adults per site and/or 2 adults and minor children per site. (Family Exceptions must be approved) We are not a public campground and only list through Hipcamp and so our property is posted with NO TRESPASSING SIGNS. It is very important to let us know your approximate arrival time and call when you arrive. We will guide you down to the campgrounds and show you the best spots base on your type of camping. (Sleeping in trailers or van's versus tent campers) One draw back to our property is that we are within 1/2 mile of a well use highway (US 84) and railroad track. We have only had one camper who was concerned about the noise. Here at the house we don't notice it and maybe we are just use to it. Limited swimming and use of paddle board based on river conditions. Fishing is limited because we are on private property and the river is not stocked by the Utah fish and game. So, we are dependent on normal reproduction of the fish. Fly fishing being the best however you can use lures but not bait of any kind . We would prefer catch and release. ALL UTAH FISHING REGULATION APPLY. WE HAVE INDICATED WHEEL CHAIR ACCESSIBLE. THE WHOLE AREA IS BASICLLY LEVEL AND GRASS AND BARK COVERED.

Please, please be aware that our main priority is managing the ranch, our offsite farms and our animals scattered in between so we might not always be available every minute to show you in person or answer every call every minute about where to park or where to find the port-a-potty etc.. Do at least the first ~250 yards of the 2.5 mile loop trail hike to the sheep camp, pond and stream and historic stone buildings (the trail head is located on the north side of the main wagon wheel camping area right next to the port-a-potty). The trail immediately descends down a rocky steep and scenic dug-way and follows the course of a small stream, gorgeous cottonwood, pinion pines and juniper trees! Don't forget your camera and be sure to keep an eye on your kids and pets. Watch your step and be on the lookout for steep ledges, drop offs, tree branches, sharp rocks, barbwire, a twisting trail and variety of native animals and birds. Take the full loop and find the hidden and historic stone brothel/dance hall (yup, an honest to goodness house of ill repute... ) located right next to an historic rail line that connected the towns of Price and Hiawatha back in ~1916 & 17! We are family, individual and large group-friendly self container camping area that provides easy local access to virtually unlimited camping, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding (subject to availability of our Wranglers and riding stock), photography, wildlife viewing and exploring in and around Utah's (less well-known, yet truly spectacular) northern San Rafael Swell Wilderness and Recreation Areas! And for Pete's sake don't forget extra fuel, food, clothing and your camera! Discover the historic stone brothel (that's right including a bar and dance hall built in ~1916). Try to decipher a late 1880's inscription on the back wall!. Hike, bike, or ride along the bed of the historic Utah Railway line that connected the towns of Price and Hiawatha via a rare early gasoline propelled locomotive back in 1916-17 (lasted only a few years before an historic flood destroyed its trestles). Check out the remains of a 100+ year old relic pump house, spring, and pond that settlers relied on to irrigate cultivated farm plots on the historic homestead. Keep an eye out for deer, moose, coyotes, rabbits, golden eagles or a lonesome cowboy moving cattle along your path. Wake early and stay up late for a spectacular summer sunrise and sunset at the main group campsite. Corral and rest your horses in one of three enclosures outfitted with automatic waters, feed tubs, and onsite alfalfa/grass 2 string bales (made available on request). And don't forget to take a dip in one of the two solar-powered cattle watering troughs if it gets too hot! Check out an absolutely gorgeous vintage restored 1920's sheep camp (our favorite) or simply throw out your bed roll under the stars about anywhere! The Hideout is located ~20 miles as the crow flies south of the infamous "Castle Gate hold up" that was staged on April 21, 1897, at the mouth of Price Canyon in east-central Utah. Located 15 miles (as the crow flies) from the San Rafael Swell's "Wedge Overlook" (aka Little Grand Canyon) and within easy striking distance of the Buckhorn Wash, Cedar Mountain, Tavaputs Plateau, Huntington Reservoir, Electric Lake, Scofield Reservoir, Joe's Valley Reservoir as well as countless other recreational sites in Carbon and Emery County! Although the Lasal Jct. now has burger truck, showers, ice and snacks. The nearby La Sal mountains rise to over 12,000 in elevation and is a great place to get out of the heat and enjoy lakes surrounded by beautiful pine and aspen forests. As the name suggests, Where The Wild Things Camp truly is wild and not for everyone. We are off grid, meaning there is NO electricity, no drinking water, and only "spotty" cell phone service is best just anywhere before bathrooms. Make sure to check the weather forecast before coming out and be prepared for anything as the weather here in the desert can be unpredictable and ALWAYS stake down your tents! Seabase's water was visited by the pioneers on the way to California, and then was owned by Grantsville City as a "swimming hole", and now is a SCUBA and snorkeling resort.& event locationn. Camping and events happen, and sometimes there would be no one here but you and the caretakers, sometimes a lot of people. There are 20 acres to dry camp, so getting back away from traffic, or close to the water are options.

We are a cattle ranch and so much more that is strategically located for easy accessibility. If we are booked send us a message/email and depending on your group size, number and size(s) of vehicle(s) we'll see if we can work out an alternative over flow camp site just for you! Explore the tranquil seclusion along picturesque Miller Creek as it courses for a mile bisecting the center of the ranch. Cool your feet in the crystal clear water at noon or take a nap in the shade of magnificent riparian cottonwoods. Check out the 1/2 acre hidden pond and spring! Avoid worrying about full campsites (particularly on weekends and holidays) as you'll find the privacy, safety, and solitude you're seeking among pinion pines, hundreds of years old twisted cedar (juniper) trees and crystal blue clear skies! Close your eyes, feel the cool breeze and take in the scent of a burning cedar campfire. Bask in splendor while camping on the east slope of the spectacular Manti La Sal National Forest, Star Point and Gentry Mountain! Relax, avoid the traffic, headache, congestion, and noise of more well known and more heavily visited recreational sites before you head back to civilization! Isn't that what you really intended to do? Prep the mountain/electric bikes and lace up your favorite hiking boots or jogging shoes. Later, take one of the unimproved trails for an off-the-grid reclusive expedition or look for that perfect remote camp site. Colloquial western folk tales, ghost stories and some incredible western music can be had here as well as horse trail rides and even a motorized tour are available (seasonally dependent, please contact us before booking regarding availability). Just one more thing... Since the ranch is bordered by public federal BLM and state SITLA lands there are literally thousands of additional acres to explore but only accessible through the ranch main gate. And for Pete's sake don't forget extra fuel, food, clothing and your camera! Discover the historic stone brothel (that's right including a bar and dance hall built in ~1916). Try to decipher a late 1880's inscription on the back wall!. Hike, bike, or ride along the bed of the historic Utah Railway line that connected the towns of Price and Hiawatha via a rare early gasoline propelled locomotive back in 1916-17 (lasted only a few years before an historic flood destroyed its trestles). Check out the remains of a 100+ year old relic pump house, spring, and pond that settlers relied on to irrigate cultivated farm plots on the historic homestead. Keep an eye out for deer, moose, coyotes, rabbits, golden eagles or a lonesome cowboy moving cattle along your path. Wake early and stay up late for a spectacular summer sunrise and sunset at the main group campsite. Corral and rest your horses in one of three enclosures outfitted with automatic waters, feed tubs, and onsite alfalfa/grass 2 string bales (made available on request). And don't forget to take a dip in one of the two solar-powered cattle watering troughs if it gets too hot! Check out an absolutely gorgeous vintage restored 1920's sheep camp (our favorite) or simply throw out your bed roll under the stars about anywhere! The Hideout is located ~20 miles as the crow flies south of the infamous "Castle Gate hold up" that was staged on April 21, 1897, at the mouth of Price Canyon in east-central Utah. Located 15 miles (as the crow flies) from the San Rafael Swell's "Wedge Overlook" (aka Little Grand Canyon) and within easy striking distance of the Buckhorn Wash, Cedar Mountain, Tavaputs Plateau, Huntington Reservoir, Electric Lake, Scofield Reservoir, Joe's Valley Reservoir as well as countless other recreational sites in Carbon and Emery County! In need of a place for this summer's family reunion? This is it! Have a grand ole' shootin' time in an authentically recreated western town with saloon, bank and out buildings at the neighboring world class "North Springs Shooting range" (Single Action Shooter Society--SASS approved) or practice at the modern pistol, rifle, long distance and/or archery range (located just a couple miles north and east of the ranch).
