Since you may not want to spend several weeks going that deep, here are some of the highlights. The Capitol building has played host to tons of inaugurations, protests, and speeches. The White House serves as the presidential residence. It's here you'll find the famous West Wing and Oval Office.
In between these two icons, discover Ford's Theatre. It was the site of the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln in 1865. You can see where the president sat, and the narrow stairway John Wilkes Booth used to sneak up behind him before shooting.
