Discover the most magical spots to pitch your tent or park your rig on your next Missouri Headwaters State Park adventure.
Discover the confluence of rivers and history at Missouri Headwaters State Park.
Lewis and Clark made camp here in 1805, though we think the amenities are a little better developed at this point. Soak in the beauty of 532 acres made of winding rivers and brambly rock outcroppings. The area used to be a boon for fishers and trappers, and we can't say much has changed. Cast a line and catch some of the bountiful fish at the riverside, or do up your trip in a canoe just like the famous explorers themselves. Heritage exhibits and interpretive displays add to the nostalgic feel here.
The park is open year-round, but the best time to visit is from late spring to early fall when the weather is warm and all facilities are available. Winter can be harsh, and some amenities may be closed, so check ahead for seasonal restrictions.
