Cornerstone Ranch is a beautiful 500 acre property on the Rogue River, and bordering the Pacific Ocean. The ranch offers campsites, as well as a yurt. Horses are welcome, as well pets. From the South GPS is very accurate to our driveway. Coming from the North, GPS may drop you at "Marchmont Farm". Keep driving about another 1/8th mile until you see the large "Cornerstone Ranch" sign. That is our driveway. The large Yurt Tent about a 20 foot oval. It is part of the Cornerstone Ranch Hip Camp family of sites on the Ranch totaling 7. In a very quiet part of the campgrounds and having a picnic table under a large pine. We have added 2 twin memory foam mattresses and two camping mattresses in the Yurt along with a few other things to make your stay comfortable while still enjoying the Ranch, Coast and the Rogue River and all it has to offer. The ranch also offers 6 different campsites. Campfires are allowed (outside of burn bans), and there is a toilet on site as well. Reviews from guests: "During the night we could hear Elk and the nearby nature! When we woke up we got to visit with the horses, use the really clean port-potty, and chat with Bonnie the Host! She has tons of recommendations, but our favorite was the Indian creek cafe across the river. The areas so great and clean and the host cares about her guests! Would recommend!"

Fennel Flats - At The Orchard Hole

3 sites · RVs, Tents100 acres · Sixes, OR
Grassy mowed area along the Sixes River on our cattle ranch and cranberry farm. We provide an outdoor shower and composting toilet shared by the 3 camp sites. The shower water is filtered water from a shallow well, but bring water to drink. This campsite lies about 1 mile from the pacific ocean at about 15 feet elevation so it will be cooler than inland camp sites. I believe we are the closest camping to the south side of the Blacklock Hiking Trails. Also next to the Cape Blanco State Airport. (call if you want to fly in and get transport to and from the campsite). Access Road is a single lane in and out (gravel, dirt, and grass). Any towed trailers need to be pulled by a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle to climb back out (in and out procedures for trailers will be provided) Bring a fishing pole or a kayak. Sea-run trout are in the river during the summer. Only friendly and quiet pets are allowed. - Please be accurate with the number of guests in your party. (Note: Don't approach lone elk cows....they currently have calves and will be aggressive.)

Cow Creek Camp

1 site · RV, Tent140 acres · Riddle, OR
This is a remote property that has lots of "nature stuff" including the presence of poison oak and ticks.  The immediate area of the campsites is treated for poison oak, but there is a lot of it on the property once you are away from the river's edge.  Pets are likely to encounter it.  The ticks tend to have a couple seasons when they are more plentiful, typically the Spring and early Fall. Although we didn't see any in August and early September, they could be present any time.Currently no access for larger RVs.  Truck campers and camper vans can be accommodated.  If you have any kind of RV, check with us before booking.Cow Creek is a class 1 stream and a tributary to the South Umpqua River.  There is a dam at the headwaters of Cow creek which assures a consistent year-round flow of clean fresh water.  Steelhead and wild salmon runs have increased dramatically since the dam was built in about 1992.  The swimming is excellent, as the topography and lay of the land create a perfect private swimming hole.  The property encompasses both sides of the river for 3/4 of a mile.  Some of the land is steep and heavily forested.  There are a number of flatter meadows on benches as the property comprises a portion of the northern slope of Iron Mountain.Learn more about this land:Creekside camping beside the looong swimming hole on our 140 acre forest land. Located 11 miles from the Riddle Oregon exit on I-5, the Swimming, fishing, bird watching, hiking and stargazing are all fantastic. There is no electric power at all on the property. No cell service. THE TRAIN: You are almost certain to be woken in the wee hours of the morning during the work week of Monday thru Friday (approx. 5:00 a.m.) by the VERY LOUD and SCREECHING train on the other side of the creek. If you'll be okay with that, riverside paradise awaits!  Saturday and Sunday mornings, however, have been train-free.This is a remote property that has lots of "nature stuff" including the presence of poison oak and ticks.  The immediate area of the campsites is treated for poison oak, but there is a lot of it on the property once you are away from the river's edge.  Pets are likely to encounter it.  The ticks tend to have a couple seasons when they are more plentiful, typically the Spring and early Fall. Camp Catching

3 sites · RVs, Tents6 acres · Coos Bay, OR
Learn more about this land: Camp Catching is located on Catching Slough a beautiful tidal water way located in the Coos Sumner area near Coos Bay. Home lands to the Coos and Coquille tribes. Camp catching is a part of Blue Barns Farms, a 6 acres homestead located on Old Wagon Rd. This area is considered a “Banana Belt” as during the summer it is often 15 degrees warmer than “in town” and outside of the fog bank that is often seen daily closer to the ocean. It is a great place to set up camp while exploring other areas of our beautiful community. The Oregon Bay Area ( Coos County) is a True Hidden Gem. You can go from mountain to sea; exploring waterfalls to playing at the beach all in one day. We have 3 camping areas around our little blue barn and surrounding area. Each camp spot has a solo fire pit and picnic table (please note: fires will be permitted based on fire risk.) All 3 camping spots have access to Catching Slough for paddle boarding and kayaking; I have been known to even swim on a hot day. We have two paddle boards, one double kayak and a child kayak (less than 130 lbs) available for camper use. Catching slough is influenced by the tides and contains brackish waters- both add additional magic to this area. This means twice a day the slough empties traveling to the ocean and fills up again. High tide is a great time for paddle boarding and kayaking; low tide is wonderful for watching birds and other animals. Anytime is actually great for bird watching! We have a number of different species of birds that rest here while migrating- the opportunity to see them all depends on the time of year that you visit. You can also watch fish jump in the bend of the slough. Other oddities that we have seen since living here over the last 7 years- swimming deer and even a seal(only once)! Everyone who comes to visit finds the slough mesmerizing and beautiful! For facilities we have an outdoor shower and Porter potties that are emptied regularly. Our little Blue Barn is a communal space offering a refrigerator, kettle and tea house. There is also a barbecue located outside the barn for camps use.

The best camping near Humbug Mountain State Park guide

Overview

About

Spread out over a peak jetting out from the Pacific Ocean, Humbug Mountain State Park is known for well-maintained coastal trails and great ocean views. The park attracts day-use visitors and overnight campers alike, and staying here means quick and easy access to both the Humbug Trail, which leads to the summit of the mountain, and the Oregon Coast Trail, which spans nearly 400 miles along Oregon’s western shores. Humbug Mountain Campground has 95 reservable campsites along with flush toilets, hot showers, and a reservable picnic area with a gazebo.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Reservations at Humbug open at 6am, six months in advance, and can be made online using the Oregon State Parks' reservation system or over the phone up to one day before arrival. Summer weekends fill up well in advance, so it’s wise to plan early.
  2. Opt for weekdays if possible. If you have some flexibility and can stay during the week, you’ll have a much easier time finding a campsite. Same-day campsites can only be booked in person and are released on a first-come, first-served basis.
  3. Arrive first thing in the morning for the best chances of securing a site.

When to go

Humbug Mountain State Park is open year-round for camping and day-use recreation. It's at its most popular during summer vacation, which usually runs from the middle of June through Labor Day in Oregon schools. This also coincides with the warmest, driest days of the year, typically in July and August. September is a good time to visit, particularly on weekdays, if you want to beat the crowds without sacrificing good weather.

Know before you go

  • The nearby town of Port Orford, a 10-minute drive away, is the closest place to pick up food, fuel, and supplies.
  • Collecting firewood in Oregon State Parks is prohibited—firewood is available sold at the campground. Avoid bringing in firewood from other regions, as it may introduce diseases or pests.
  • The campground offers accessible toilets and showers, as well as two electrical sites for travelers with disabilities.
  • A small hiker/biker camping area is available for those arriving on foot or by bicycle.
