Norris and Roberta is a Star Host
Star Hosts are highly rated, responsive, and committed to providing incredible experiences.
Five minutes from the beach, Elkhorn Ranch is home to goats, sheep, wild chickens followed by their baby chicks, and a couple of cows, dogs, and sheep. In addition to the animals there is a greenhouse and an acre of pumpkins, corn, and beans. A small fruit orchard borders the chicken coop. Anybody who enjoys small farm life and activity will find this place enchanting. Norris and Roberta are incredible hosts and inclusive to any guests that want to participate in farm life. Close to restaurants and the cute harbor town of Moss Landing, 30 minutes from Carmel and Santa Cruz, Elkhorn Ranch can be a place to relax or a gateway to explore Big Sur and all the amazing hidden gems of the Central California Coast. After your stay here if you would like to continue your exploration of the coast, we have a partner who does surfing tours between Santa Cruz and San Francisco. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61566796147238 Thanks and hope to see you soon!Pros - Lovely community. Great for kids. Lively when wanted, chill when wanted. Magical Oak forest. Open field for playing. Close to everything. Note - There is a large power station at Moss Landing, about five miles away. The high tension wires border the property. Some people think they are ugly. I think they are kind of cool. If you look down the line of sight, they lead to the power station and you can see all the lined radiating from the power station to serve power to the people of Monterey County.Check in and check out are flexible. However we ask that you are checked in by 7 pm as we are a working farm. Due to camping in the oak grove there are no camp fires at the campsites. However there is a fire pit with wood available in the common area to enjoy or cook on.

Elkhorn Ranch offers a welcoming and hands-on experience, especially for animal lovers. Guests rave about the friendly hosts, Norris and Roberta, who go out of their way to provide tours and introduce visitors to the farm's many animals, including goats, chickens, and playful kittens. The location is convenient, with clean facilities and a cozy communal atmosphere around the fire pit. However, some visitors noted the noise from power lines and farm animals, which might be a concern for light sleepers.

Elkhorn Ranch 2 night stay
Tent
We loved this site. Norris met us at the gate, gave us a tour and introduced us to the two giant love able working dogs. We had so much fun playing with the goats, and got to meet pepe their 3 week old goat. There are chickens, and kittens. If you love being around animals this is a welcoming and hands on experience. Norris was gracious asking our questions about farm life and overall a great host. Bathrooms were clean, the fire pit was cozy. You are close to town for essentials. The Elkhorn Slough is a wetland park very close by and free. We got to watch pelicans diving for their dinner and got a nice hike in. It was dark enough there at night to see the stars all across the sky, views were spectacular. We cant wait to stay again

We had a wonderful time at Elkhorn Ranch! The hosts were warm and hospitable. When we arrived we were greeted by Norris and given a tour of the property. We chose a spot a close to the communal area which had everything we needed. They treated my 3 year old son so well and included him on their daily chores. He loved it! We can’t wait to visit again!
