Welcome to southern Santa Cruz County, home of some of the longest and most beautiful beaches in central California.
We are located in La Selva Beach, an eight-minute walk to Manresa State Beach. We are a small, working farm with vegetable and flower gardens, chickens and bees. There are many excellent places nearby to hike, walk, surf, swim, tide pool or just sit and enjoy the view.
We offer three campsites, two have fantastic, unobstructed views of the three hundred acres of strawberry fields that back up to our property.
Our campsites provide water and electric hookups and are only appropriate for self-contained recreational vehicles and trailers. One of the sites has no size constraints on RVs or trailers. We have plenty of room for a second vehicle. We do offer a port-a potty, but not sinks or showers. We do not accommodate on the ground tent camping or in your car camping.
The Valley View site is very quiet as it is farthest from the road, and is the most private. The Gateway site is near the road and does not have a view of the strawberry fields, but guests who are just looking for a quick stop over or base camp love it. The Strawberry and Surf site has no size restrictions and it backs up to San Andreas Rd.
All site are walking distance to Manresa State Beach.
We love to host guests and will provide information about things to do and see in our area. We often loan our State Parks pass so that you can venture out to Point Lobos, Wilder Ranch, Sunset Beach, Natural Bridges and more.
Each camp site includes a fire pit and a generous wagon of wood. Two camp chairs and a picnic table are included as well.
We also offer farm fresh eggs, baked goods and other treats (see our Extras).
We are 15 minutes from the village of Capitola, 30 minutes from downtown Santa Cruz and 45 minutes to Monterey.
There is a Dump station 5 minutes down the road at the KOA (for a fee).
The campsite offers a tranquil escape with hosts Robin and Ray providing warm hospitality. Guests rave about the convenience of being near the beach and the peaceful environment, noting the sound of waves and views of strawberry fields. The site is well-equipped with helpful amenities like electric and water hookups, and thoughtful touches such as firewood and baked goods. However, some visitors mentioned the proximity to the main road, which occasionally disrupted the otherwise serene setting.
Ray and Robin's place is a great spot if you need a quick and easy place to land for an evening. They are amazing hosts and both stopped by to check in on us and chat with our littles. The complementary firewood and loaner beach toys were a huge hit with our kids. The location is super convenient to town and to the beach. Just don't mistake it for a secluded location as those aren't close to town or the beach ;)
As shown in the photos, the sites are a few feet from the road which means it's critical for dogs to be on leash and kids to be very aware that there is traffic on the other side of the trees. We didn't notice the road at all at night.
Robin and Ray are amazing people who went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The RV spots are level and easily accesible. There is a grass/hay field across the street that we were able to walk the dogs off leashs, and the beach is truly an 8 minute walk away.
Overall a great basecamp for your adventures.
If you like the beach, this place offers easy access— a 5 minute walk to the state beach.
The hosts were helpful and had the RV pad well groomed. A picnic table and chairs made it easy. I backed in with my 22 ft trailer to face the strawberry fields.
A great spot. I plan on going back this summer.
Despite this being a last minute reservation, Robin was very accommodating. We were directly next to the road and there was no dump area but had nice beach access, a picnic table, and complimentary wood for a campfire. Overall, would stay again!
We loved our stay at Strawberry Fields! We nestled our 5th Wheel into Site #1, and enjoyed the views of the strawberries. Also saw deer, hawks, jays, and a couple of lizards. It’s nice to have the beach just a short walk away, too. Robin & Ray are delightful hosts, and made sure we had everything we needed.
We already look forward to staying here again!!
