Welcome to Waterfall Camp. Come enjoy your stay with us on our beautiful 5-acre property centrally located, its only 10 min to the village of Mendocino, 5 minute drive to Caspar beach and 10 min to the town of Fort Bragg. Nestled on the edge of the Redwoods and Pygmy Forest, adjacent to Russian Gulch State Park. The property has private access into park which consists of many miles of beautiful Redwood trails, the trail to the waterfall, biking trails along with a trail that leads straight to the ocean. Come and relax around your private campfire and cook over the open flames or treat yourself to fine dining in Mendocino or Fort Bragg, the experience is at your fingertips. From camping under the stars to hiking and biking through the redwoods or kayaking up Big River, come let the Mendocino coast show you what it’s all about. Our goal is to make you feel right at home. Each of our three sites has a redwood deck with a sink and food prep space, potable water, remote solar lighting, picnic table, smokeless fire pit and grill, firewood, level parking area and tent pad. One of the three sites can accommodate a 25’ trailer. There is a beautiful redwood bathhouse with two outdoor showers and two flushing toilets. All water onsite is potable so make sure to top off before your day of adventuring. There is a horseshoe pit, cornhole, and badminton set for fun under the sun. All sites are a two min walk to the State Park trails and 5 min ride to Jackson state forest bike trails. It's about a half hour walk to the beautiful waterfall from our property. Large Groups are welcome to book all three sites with two additional RV locations. Also we have a fully stocked westfalia camper van to glamp in if your wanting to pack light for the weekend. We hope to make your stay with us a memorable and fun experience. Shay & Liz

Beautiful campground!!! Very clean!! It would be a great campground to rent out all three sites with a group. I just wished the bathrooms had a little more privacy.

Shay and Liz are great hosts, the sites are well laid out with sink station and fire pit (w/ wood and kindling!) each and a sweet little shared bathroom with toilets that flush and showers that are hot. The hike to the waterfall is perfect and beautiful. Oh and the Westfalia was the coziest for a dog and a boy.

Waterfall camp was great. The hosts are super nice and have made a lovely little getaway that comes with an endless supply of firewood. The trail to the waterfall is worth repeating in every comment. We will be visiting again.

Best Hipcamp Ever
16 ft car ·
Amazing! By far the best hipcamp I’ve experienced to date. It’s still “camping” but Shay and Liz really went the extra mile. The little thoughtful things like low smoke campfire stoves, blankets for each chair, sinks at each campsite with soap and a towel, and so much more really made the experience great. If you even mention that you don’t like something they jump through hoops to deal with it immediately. They even gave us a mushroom tour and we had mushrooms off their property for breakfast. They are amazing people and they are running a fantastic hipcamp. Things to note: they live in a neighborhood so there are neighborhood noises like barking dogs and equipment running. But it quiets down at night. The camping area is smaller than I expected but it doesn’t feel cramped. Site 2 is the most secluded but doesn’t get sun if you depend on solar. Site 3 gets tons of sun but is close to the bathrooms (not a bad thing for me! Just good to know). Site 1 is a pull through site so it’s big and open but doesn’t get much sun. All sites are lovely.

Excellent camping experience!
We loved staying at Shay and Liz’s Stargazer campsite!! The property is gorgeous and backs up to the park. We enjoyed the hiking trail down to the waterfall. Communication was excellent. Instructions on getting to the place were clear. Shay greeted us which was nice and we had plenty of firewood which was a really nice added touch. I would absolutely stay here again.

My favorite hip camp!
16 ft campervan · With pets ·
I’ve stayed at a lot of hip camps and have to save this was my favorite. I was trying to book another time while I was there. Shay & Liz are amazing, great energy! They have thought of everything, blankets on the fire ring chairs for cool nights, plenty of firewood, hot showers, flush toilets, soap, shampoo, I could go on and on. They have also landscaped it beautifully. I also love the location, beautiful hikes right out the back of the camp sites. Ocean 5 min. Away. Thank you Shay and Liz, already looking forward to coming back.
