Tucked away in the woods, just outside of the beautiful seaside village of Mendocino, is the Mendocino hideaway. A 2 acre quiet oasis filled with redwoods, douglass fir, and a variety of flora and fauna to observe. Wildflowers, rhododendron, blackberries, ferns, and native wild grasses abound. As well as a variety of birds, ravens, owls, woodpeckers and quail and other wildlife: deer, racoons, rabbits, bears all call this area home. There are two main clearings as well as a path that meanders through old growth redwoods up to 300 years old.
Nearby is the quaint village of Mendocino where many cafes, restaurants, art galleries and shops abound. Located on the Mendocino Headlands state park and on the beautiful Mendocino bay at the mouth of the Big River. Kayaking, surfing, fishing are popular activities. Also nearby are Russian Gulch S.P. and Pt. Cabrillo Lighthouse as well as numerous beaches up and down the coast. Ft. Bragg is a 10 minute drive to the North with all its amenities, the restaurants at Noyo Harbor etc.A newly renovated cabin (15x12) with a double bed, small fridge and a small deck outside. 50 ft away is the bathroom, outdoor shower, outdoor tub and outdoor kitchen space with sink and a small bbq grill. Tent
We had a great time tent camping on Matthew’s land. Especially appreciated having a covered outdoor kitchen area when it rained. Very peaceful and well taken care of!
